OPEN DOORS NO MAN CAN SHUT

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Revelation 3:7-8; Isaiah 22:22

Key Verse: “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8)

Supporting Texts: Isaiah 45:1-3; Psalm 24:7-10; Deuteronomy 28:12; Acts 12:5-11; Genesis 41:39-44; 1 Corinthians 16:9; Colossians 4:3

Description: God alone has the authority to open doors that no human being, power, or circumstance can shut, bringing His people into their appointed blessings and destinies.

INTRODUCTION
Life is full of doors. Some doors lead to opportunities, promotion, favour, fruitfulness, and fulfilment, while others remain closed because of timing, spiritual opposition, or circumstances beyond human control. Many people labour diligently but struggle to make progress because the right doors have not yet opened. Others experience repeated disappointments as opportunities seem to slip away despite their best efforts. The encouraging truth is that our destiny does not ultimately depend on human approval but on the God who holds the keys of every door.

In Revelation, Jesus introduced Himself as the One who possesses the key of David. He declared that when He opens a door, no one can shut it, and when He shuts a door, no one can open it. This reveals His absolute authority over every opportunity, blessing, promotion, ministry, relationship, and destiny. No earthly authority can overturn what God has determined for His children.

As believers, we must learn to trust God's timing and depend upon His power rather than human influence. When the Lord opens a door, obstacles become stepping stones, impossibilities become realities, and delayed expectations become testimonies. Therefore, we must position ourselves spiritually to walk through every door that God opens during this season.

1. GOD IS THE OPENER OF DOORS
Every genuine opportunity originates from the Lord.

a. Christ Holds the Key of David (Revelation 3:7)
Jesus possesses absolute authority over every door of destiny.

b. God Opens What No One Can Shut (Isaiah 22:22)
No human being or spiritual force can reverse God's decision.

c. Promotion Comes from the Lord (Psalm 75:6-7)
True elevation comes from God and not merely from human effort.

d. God Makes a Way Where None Exists (Isaiah 43:19)
The Lord creates opportunities beyond human imagination.

Biblical Example: Joseph was brought out of prison and promoted to become governor over Egypt because God opened a door that no one could shut (Genesis 41:39-44).

2. SOME DOORS REQUIRE SPIRITUAL PREPARATION
God prepares His people before entrusting them with greater opportunities.

a. Walk in Holiness (Hebrews 12:14)
A holy life keeps believers ready for divine opportunities.

b. Remain Faithful in Little Things (Luke 16:10)
Faithfulness qualifies believers for greater responsibilities.

c. Develop Patience (James 1:2-4)
Waiting seasons prepare believers for lasting blessings.

d. Continue in Prayer (Colossians 4:2-3)
Prayer invites God's intervention and opens spiritual doors.

Biblical Example: David faithfully served as a shepherd before God opened the door for him to become king over Israel (1 Samuel 16:11-13).

3. GOD OPENS DOORS OF FAVOUR AND BREAKTHROUGH
Divine favour gives access where human qualifications may be insufficient.

a. God Opens Financial Doors (Deuteronomy 28:12)
The Lord blesses the work of His people's hands.

b. God Opens Ministry Doors (1 Corinthians 16:9)
He creates opportunities for fruitful service.

c. God Opens Doors of Divine Relationships (Proverbs 18:24)
The right relationships advance God's purpose.

d. God Opens Doors of Restoration (Joel 2:25-27)
The Lord restores lost opportunities and wasted years.

Biblical Example: Esther found favour before the king, and God used the open door to preserve His covenant people (Esther 5:1-3; 8:5-8).

4. NO POWER CAN SHUT GOD'S OPEN DOORS
God's purpose cannot be defeated by human opposition.

a. God Breaks Gates of Brass (Isaiah 45:1-3)
The Lord removes every barrier before His people.

b. God Delivers from Every Prison (Acts 12:5-11)
No chain can prevent God's intervention.

c. No Weapon Shall Prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
Every attack against God's purpose shall fail.

d. God Gives Complete Victory (Romans 8:37)
Believers are more than conquerors through Christ.

Biblical Example: Peter was miraculously released from prison as God opened doors that human authorities had securely shut (Acts 12:6-11).

5. WALK THROUGH THE DOORS GOD OPENS
Believers must respond in faith when God creates opportunities.

a. Obey God's Leading (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Divine direction ensures lasting success.

b. Walk by Faith (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Faith enables believers to embrace God's opportunities.

c. Give God the Glory (Psalm 115:1)
Every open door should bring honour to God.

d. Remain Humble and Faithful (1 Peter 5:6)
Humility preserves divine promotion.

Biblical Example: Paul faithfully entered every door of ministry that God opened, resulting in the spread of the Gospel throughout many nations (Acts 13:1-5; Acts 16:6-10).

CONCLUSION
God remains the sovereign Lord who controls every door of life. Human beings may reject you, systems may fail you, and circumstances may seem unfavourable, but when God decides to open a door for you, nothing can stop His purpose. He has the final authority over your destiny, and His plans for your life cannot be frustrated.

Therefore, continue trusting Him, walking in holiness, remaining faithful, and praying without ceasing. Refuse to be discouraged by temporary delays or closed doors, because God knows the right door for every season of your life. As you remain obedient to Him, He shall open doors of favour, promotion, restoration, ministry, and abundance that no man, power, or circumstance shall ever be able to shut.
