Description: God has entrusted every believer with resources, gifts, opportunities, and responsibilities, and each person will give an account of their stewardship before Him.

INTRODUCTION
Kingdom stewardship is a fundamental principle taught by Jesus throughout the Gospel of Matthew. Stewardship involves faithfully managing everything God has entrusted to us, including our time, talents, spiritual gifts, finances, relationships, influence, and opportunities. As believers, we are not owners but stewards of God's resources, called to use them wisely for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom.

One of the clearest teachings on stewardship is found in the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25. In this parable, a master entrusted resources to his servants before going on a journey. Upon his return, he required each servant to give an account of how they had managed what was entrusted to them. The faithful servants were rewarded, while the unfaithful servant faced judgment. This parable highlights both the privilege and responsibility of Kingdom stewardship.

In a world that often promotes self-centred living and personal gain, believers are called to a higher standard. Every gift, blessing, and opportunity comes from God and should be used according to His purposes. Understanding Kingdom stewardship helps believers live intentionally, serve faithfully, and prepare for the day when they will stand before God to give an account of their lives.

1. GOD IS THE OWNER OF ALL THINGS
Stewardship begins with recognizing God's ownership.

a) Everything Belongs to God (Psalm 24:1)
The earth and everything in it belong to the Lord.

b) God Entrusts Resources to His People (Matthew 25:14)
What we possess is given to us by God for His purposes.

c) We Are Managers, Not Owners (1 Corinthians 4:7)
Everything we have is received by God's grace.

d) Stewardship Requires Submission to God's Will (Proverbs 3:9)
Our resources should honour the One who entrusted them to us.

Biblical Example: Joseph faithfully managed Potiphar's household and later Egypt's resources because he understood responsibility and accountability before God (Genesis 39:4-6; Genesis 41:39-41).

2. GOD ENTRUSTS DIFFERENT GIFTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Each believer receives unique assignments and opportunities.

a) God Gives According to Ability (Matthew 25:15)
The master distributed talents based on each servant's capacity.

b) Spiritual Gifts Differ (Romans 12:6-8)
Believers receive different gifts for Kingdom service.

c) Every Assignment Has Purpose (Ephesians 2:10)
God equips each person for specific works.

d) No Gift Is Insignificant (1 Corinthians 12:18-22)
Every contribution matters in God's Kingdom.

Biblical Example: Moses, Aaron, and Joshua had different assignments but all played vital roles in God's plan (Exodus 4:14-16; Joshua 1:1-9).

3. FAITHFULNESS IS THE PRIMARY REQUIREMENT OF A STEWARD
God values faithfulness more than popularity or success.

a) Faithfulness Brings Divine Approval (Matthew 25:21)
The faithful servant received commendation from his master.

b) Faithfulness in Small Things Leads to Greater Trust (Luke 16:10)
God promotes those who handle small responsibilities well.

c) Faithfulness Requires Diligence (Proverbs 22:29)
Effective stewardship involves commitment and hard work.

d) Faithfulness Must Be Consistent (Galatians 6:9)
Stewards must persevere without becoming weary.

Biblical Example: Daniel remained faithful to God despite opposition and was elevated to positions of influence (Daniel 6:3-4).

4. STEWARDS MUST MULTIPLY WHAT GOD HAS ENTRUSTED TO THEM
God expects growth, productivity, and fruitfulness.

a) Talents Must Be Developed (Matthew 25:16-17)
The faithful servants invested what they received.

b) Opportunities Must Be Maximized (Ephesians 5:15-16)
Believers should make wise use of every opportunity.

c) Spiritual Gifts Must Be Exercised (1 Peter 4:10)
God-given abilities should be used to serve others.

d) Fruitfulness Glorifies God (John 15:8)
Kingdom productivity brings honour to the Lord.

Biblical Example: The early disciples multiplied the gospel message, leading to rapid growth in the Church (Acts 2:41-47).

5. NEGLIGENCE IN STEWARDSHIP HAS CONSEQUENCES
Failure to fulfil God's trust brings accountability.

a) Fear Can Hinder Stewardship (Matthew 25:25)
The unfaithful servant allowed fear to control his actions.

b) Laziness Leads to Loss (Matthew 25:26)
Neglecting responsibilities results in missed opportunities.

c) God Expects Accountability (Romans 14:12)
Every believer will give an account to God.

d) Unused Potential Is Displeasing to God (Matthew 25:28-30)
God expects His gifts to be used faithfully.

Biblical Example: King Saul lost his kingdom because he failed to faithfully obey God's instructions (1 Samuel 15:22-28).

6. KINGDOM STEWARDS WILL BE REWARDED
Faithful stewardship leads to eternal rewards.

a) God Rewards Faithfulness (Matthew 25:21)
The faithful servant entered into the joy of his master.

b) Eternal Rewards Await Believers (1 Corinthians 3:13-14)
Faithful service will be recognized by God.

c) Greater Responsibility Follows Faithfulness (Matthew 25:23)
God entrusts more to those who prove trustworthy.

d) Faithful Stewards Share in God's Joy (Matthew 25:21)
The ultimate reward is fellowship and approval from the Lord.

Biblical Example: Paul finished his race faithfully and looked forward to receiving the crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

CONCLUSION
Kingdom stewardship is both a privilege and a responsibility. God has entrusted every believer with resources, gifts, opportunities, and assignments that are meant to be used for His glory. The Parable of the Talents teaches that God expects faithfulness, diligence, growth, and accountability from His servants. What matters most is not the size of what we have received but how faithfully we use it.

As believers, we must live with the awareness that one day we will stand before God and give an account of our stewardship. Therefore, we should faithfully invest our time, gifts, resources, and opportunities in advancing God's Kingdom. Those who remain faithful will hear the glorious words of their Master: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
