THE GOD WHO HOLDS THE FINAL SAY

THE GOD WHO HOLDS THE FINAL SAY

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Isaiah 46:10

Supporting Texts: Lamentations 3:37, Revelation 3:7, Romans 8:28, Job 42:2, Numbers 23:19

INTRODUCTION:
In life, many voices attempt to define our destiny—voices of men, doctors, mockers, enemies, and even our own fears. But above all these voices is the sovereign voice of God, the One who holds the final say over all things. His decision is supreme, and no one can reverse what He has ordained.

No matter what verdicts have been passed over your life—whether medically, financially, emotionally, or spiritually—there is a higher authority that speaks beyond them all. God’s Word is final and irreversible. When He says yes, no one can say no. When He opens a door, no one can shut it.

Even in the face of delay, rejection, or hopelessness, the believer must remember that God's verdict is what ultimately stands. He is not limited by the facts of your situation. His plans are eternal, and His purpose shall prevail.

1.  GOD CANCELS NEGATIVE VERDICTS
Before the world was formed, God had already declared good plans over your life.

a) God is not bound by human reports (Isaiah 53:1)
Human reports may speak doom, but God's report speaks life and victory.

b) He reverses evil decrees (Esther 8:5-8)
Just like in the days of Esther, God can nullify wicked decisions made against you.

c) He silences the voice of the accuser (Zechariah 3:1-4)
Satan may accuse, but God overrules with mercy and favour.

d) No one can oppose what God has approved (Romans 8:33-34)
What God has settled in heaven cannot be overruled on earth.

Biblical Example: The woman caught in adultery was condemned by men, but Jesus had the final say of mercy (John 8:1-11).

2.  GOD RESTORES LOST HOPE
When man says it’s over, God often begins a new chapter.

a) He brings life to dead situations (Ezekiel 37:3-6)
Even dry bones can rise again when God speaks.

b) He gives beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3)
Out of destruction, God creates glory and restoration.

c) He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5)
Nothing is ever too broken for God to fix completely.

d) His plans are for good, not for evil (Jeremiah 29:11)
He always works behind the scenes for your best outcome.

Biblical Example: Lazarus was declared dead, but Jesus had the final say and brought him back to life (John 11:1-44).

3.   GOD HAS THE POWER TO OPEN AND SHUT DOORS
What God opens, no man can shut, and what He shuts, no man can open.

a) Divine doors open by His authority (Revelation 3:7-8)
He is the Door-opener who gives access that no man can deny.

b) He shuts the door to the enemy’s access (Job 1:10)
God can put a divine hedge of protection around His own.

c) He opens the doors of destiny at the right time (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
His timing ensures that doors open when you're prepared.

d) No force of hell can withstand His authority (Philippians 2:9-11)
Every power must bow to His supreme name and will.

Biblical Example: God shut the door of Noah’s ark and opened it at the right time, preserving destiny (Genesis 7:16; 8:13-14).

4.   GOD TURNS EVERY NEGATIVE FOR YOUR GOOD
Even the worst situations are opportunities for divine turnaround.

a) God uses opposition to build strength (Romans 5:3-5)
Trials refine you and birth greatness through endurance.

b) He allows delay to release the best (Habakkuk 2:3)
Delay is not denial—it’s divine preparation.

c) What the enemy meant for evil, God uses for good (Genesis 50:20)
The wicked plans of men cannot thwart His purpose.

d) All things work together for your good (Romans 8:28)
He coordinates every detail of your life to fulfil destiny.

Biblical Example: Joseph went through betrayal, slavery, and prison, but God had the final say and lifted him to the palace (Genesis 41:39-44).

5. GOD WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD OVER YOUR LIFE
Let every other voice be silent—God’s Word is the ultimate authority.

a) His Word never returns void (Isaiah 55:10-11)
What He has spoken concerning you will surely come to pass.

b) He finishes what He starts (Philippians 1:6)
God is not a God of abandonment; He completes His work.

c) His counsel shall stand (Proverbs 19:21)
Men may plan, but God’s will always prevails.

d) He is the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 1:8)
He begins and ends everything according to His perfect plan.

Biblical Example: Job lost everything, but God's final say brought double restoration (Job 42:10-12).

CONCLUSION:
No matter what life throws at you, never forget that it is God who holds the final say. He is not confused by your situation, nor is He constrained by the opinions of men. When God speaks, everything changes.

Hold fast to the promises of God, for His verdict overrides every other voice. Trust Him completely—He will never fail you.
