GLORY AFTER THIS

GLORY AFTER THIS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Romans 8:18 - “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” ( KJV)

Supporting Texts: 2 Corinthians 4:17; John 11:4; 1 Peter 5:10; Job 42:10; Isaiah 61:3

Description: No matter the pain, delay, or affliction, God has reserved a greater glory that will follow and overshadow your present situation.

INTRODUCTION:
Life often comes with trials, battles, and painful seasons. But the believer must never forget that suffering is temporary, while glory is eternal. The Word of God assures us that there is always glory after this.

Lazarus was sick, and his situation looked hopeless, but Jesus declared, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God” (John 11:4). The temporary suffering became a platform for the revelation of divine glory.

Beloved, what you are going through is not the end. God is writing a better story. Your midnight of sorrow will give birth to the morning of glory. Hold on in faith, for there is glory after this.

1. SUFFERINGS ARE TEMPORARY, BUT GLORY IS ETERNAL
Painful seasons do not last forever, but God’s glory does.

a) Affliction is momentary (2 Corinthians 4:17)
It works for us a far more exceeding weight of glory.

b) Trials refine us for glory (Zechariah 13:9)
God uses fire to purify gold.

c) Suffering is a seed for glory (Psalm 30:5)
Weeping endures for a night, joy comes in the morning.

d) God’s promises outlast our trials (Isaiah 40:8)
His Word stands forever.

Biblical Example: Job’s suffering was intense, but God turned his captivity and gave him double glory after his trials (Job 42:10).

2. GOD USES TRIALS TO REVEAL HIS GLORY
Your challenges are not meant to destroy you, but to display God’s power.

a) Trials showcase God’s sovereignty (Exodus 14:4)
Pharaoh’s resistance led to God’s glory at the Red Sea.

b) Painful seasons position us for divine encounters (Genesis 32:24-28)
Jacob’s wrestling birthed his destiny.

c) Delays magnify God’s glory when the answer comes (John 11:40)
Lazarus’ death became a testimony of resurrection.

d) Weakness allows God’s strength to manifest (2 Corinthians 12:9)
His grace is sufficient in our weakness.

Biblical Example: Daniel in the lions’ den turned from a victim to a vessel of God’s glory when the king glorified God (Daniel 6:26-27).

3. HOW TO WALK INTO THE GLORY AFTER TRIALS
Our posture in seasons of waiting determines the glory ahead.

a) Hold on to faith (Hebrews 10:23)
He who promised is faithful.

b) Keep praising God in the storm (Habakkuk 3:17-19)
Praise accelerates glory.

c) Endure patiently (James 1:4)
Patience completes God’s work in us.

d) Stay aligned with God’s Word (Psalm 119:50)
His Word gives hope in affliction.

Biblical Example: Paul and Silas praised God in prison, and their midnight turned into a glorious testimony of deliverance (Acts 16:25-26).

4. SIGNS THAT GLORY HAS COME
When your “this” season ends, the glory will be evident.

a) Restoration follows suffering (1 Peter 5:10)
God perfects, establishes, strengthens, and settles you.

b) Joy replaces sorrow (Isaiah 61:3)
Beauty for ashes, joy for mourning.

c) Testimonies become undeniable (Psalm 126:1-2)
Your mouth shall be filled with laughter.

d) Your life becomes a reflection of God’s power (Matthew 5:16)
Men glorify God through you.

Biblical Example: Joseph moved from the pit and prison into the palace, showing glory after years of pain (Genesis 41:41-43).

CONCLUSION:
Beloved, your present situation is not permanent. Trials may endure for a while, but they cannot cancel God’s promise of glory. The story of your life will not end in shame but in glory.

Declare boldly: “My pain is turning to praise, my delay to testimony, my affliction to glory. Surely, there is glory after this!”
