INTRODUCTION:
Divine intervention is the supernatural action of God in our lives, where He intervenes in situations to bring about His will, deliverance, and protection. It is an act of God’s mercy and power to rescue, restore, and bring breakthrough to His people. Whether in times of distress, danger, or uncertainty, divine intervention demonstrates God’s sovereignty and His commitment to His children. This sermon explores the essence of divine intervention, highlighting biblical examples of how God stepped into challenging situations to bring about victory and salvation

1. THE NATURE OF DIVINE INTERVENTION

a) It Is an Act of God's Mercy:
God’s intervention is driven by His love and mercy for His people (Psalm 103:8).

b) It Is Timely and Perfect:
Divine intervention always happens at the right moment (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

c) It Is Unseen by Human Eyes:
Often, we are unaware of how God is working behind the scenes (Romans 8:28).

d) It Transcends Natural Limitations:
God's intervention defies natural laws and brings supernatural results (Luke 1:37).

e) Biblical Example: In Exodus 14:21-22, God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites to escape from the Egyptian army, showing His timely and powerful intervention.

2. EXAMPLES OF DIVINE INTERVENTION IN THE BIBLE

a) The Crossing of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13-16):
When the Israelites were trapped by the Red Sea, God intervened by parting the waters, providing a miraculous escape.

b) The Deliverance of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:23-27):
In the fiery furnace, God intervened by sending an angel to protect His servants from the flames.

c) Peter's Escape from Prison (Acts 12:5-11):
When Peter was imprisoned, God sent an angel to release him, showing divine intervention in a time of need.

d) The Healing of Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:1-5):
God intervened when King Hezekiah was at the point of death, extending his life by 15 years after his prayer.

e) Biblical Example: The story of Daniel in the lion’s den (Daniel 6:22) shows how God intervened to shut the mouths of the lions, protecting His servant.

3. WHY DIVINE INTERVENTION IS NECESSARY

a) To Overcome the Enemy's Plans:
Divine intervention helps us to defeat the forces of evil that seek to harm or hinder us (Psalm 34:7).

b) To Experience Breakthroughs:
It is through God’s intervention that we experience breakthroughs in areas where human efforts fall short (Isaiah 43:19).

c) To Demonstrate God's Power:
When God intervenes, it serves as a testimony to His power and glory (Exodus 14:31).

d) To Restore What Was Lost:
Divine intervention often brings restoration to what was lost, stolen, or destroyed (Joel 2:25).

e) Biblical Example: In 1 Kings 17:8-16, God intervened by providing for Elijah and a widow during a famine, demonstrating His provision.

4. HOW TO POSITION YOURSELF FOR DIVINE INTERVENTION

a) Trust in God's Ability:
Trust that God is capable of intervening in your situation, no matter how difficult (Mark 9:23).

b) Pray and Seek God’s Face:
Prayer is key to inviting God’s intervention in our circumstances (2 Chronicles 7:14).

c) Remain Faithful and Obedient:
God responds to faithfulness and obedience, ensuring His intervention (John 14:15).

d) Stay Expectant of God's Help:
Expect and believe that God will act on your behalf when you call on Him (Psalm 5:3).

e) Biblical Example: Hannah’s fervent prayer led to divine intervention and the birth of Samuel (1 Samuel 1:9-20).

5. THE IMPACT OF DIVINE INTERVENTION

a) It Brings Deliverance and Victory:
Divine intervention leads to freedom from oppression and victory over enemies (Psalm 18:3).

b) It Inspires Faith in Others:
Witnessing divine intervention strengthens the faith of others who may be struggling (Romans 15:4).

c) It Deepens Our Relationship with God:
Experiencing God’s intervention deepens our trust and relationship with Him (Psalm 107:1-2).

d) It Testifies of God's Glory and Power:
When God intervenes, His glory is revealed, and others come to know Him (John 9:3-4).

e) Biblical Example: The resurrection of Lazarus (John 11:38-44) showed the power of divine intervention, and many believed in Jesus because of it.
