INTRODUCTION:
Divine declaration is a powerful principle rooted in the authority that God has given to His people. Through our words, we can align ourselves with God's will and call forth His purposes in our lives. This message explores the power of speaking declarations in alignment with God's promises, knowing that what we declare, in faith, shall come to pass. God has given us the authority to decree a thing and see it established, but it must be in accordance with His will and His word.
1. THE POWER OF DECLARATION
a) Words Have Creative Power:
God created the universe by speaking. As His image-bearers, our words also carry creative power. What we declare can either build or destroy (Proverbs 18:21).
b) Words Shape Our Destiny:
The words we speak shape the direction of our lives. Our declarations can either affirm or hinder God’s plans for us (Job 22:28).
c) Divine Declarations Are Not Empty Words:
When we speak in alignment with God’s will, our words are not empty but powerful and effective (Isaiah 55:11).
d) Authority in Christ:
As believers, we are given the authority in Christ to declare things on earth that will be established in heaven (Matthew 18:18).
e) Biblical Example:
God’s declaration in Genesis 1:3, "Let there be light," resulted in the creation of light. The power of divine declaration brought about something that was not visible into existence.
2. THE PURPOSE OF DIVINE DECLARATIONS
a) To Align with God’s Will:
Divine declarations help align our will with God’s will. They are not about imposing our desires on God, but about speaking in agreement with His plans for our lives (Matthew 6:10).
b) To Release God’s Promises:
When we declare God’s promises over our lives, we activate them and give God the authority to manifest His will in our lives (Mark 11:23).
c) To Bring Change to Our Circumstances:
Declarations are an effective way to bring transformation to difficult situations. By declaring God's word over our challenges, we shift the atmosphere (Romans 4:17).
d) To Strengthen Our Faith:
Speaking out the word of God in faith strengthens our belief. As we declare God’s truth, we remind ourselves of His power and faithfulness (Romans 10:17).
e) Biblical Example:
When David declared in 1 Samuel 17:46, "This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands," it was a declaration of victory before the battle. His faith-filled declaration brought about divine victory over Goliath.
3. THE CONDITIONS FOR DIVINE DECLARATION
a) It Must Be Based on God’s Word:
A true divine declaration is rooted in the promises of Scripture. If it does not align with God’s word, it will not have lasting effect (Joshua 1:8).
b) It Must Be Made in Faith:
Declarations made in faith, without doubt, are powerful. Faith is the key that unlocks the power of divine declarations (Mark 11:23).
c) It Must Be Spoken with Authority:
As children of God, we speak with the authority of Christ. Our declarations are not powerless, but they are backed by the authority of heaven (Luke 10:19).
d) It Must Be Made in Agreement with God’s Timing:
Timing is crucial in divine declarations. Declarations made out of sync with God’s timing can hinder His purpose (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
e) Biblical Example:
Jesus’ declaration of healing over the sick and the dead was always in perfect alignment with God’s will and timing (John 11:43-44).
4. THE RESULTS OF DIVINE DECLARATIONS
a) Establishment of God’s Will:
When we declare God’s will, it is established on earth as it is in heaven. Our words create the pathway for His will to manifest in our lives (Job 22:28).
b) Miraculous Manifestations:
Divine declarations can bring forth miracles. When we declare God’s promises, miracles follow (Matthew 17:20).
c) Overcoming the Enemy’s Lies:
Our declarations serve as a weapon against the enemy. When we speak God’s word, it dismantles the lies and works of the devil (Ephesians 6:17).
d) Healing and Restoration:
When we declare healing, restoration, and breakthrough, we open the door for God to act and bring about divine healing and restoration (Jeremiah 30:17).
e) Biblical Example:
In Mark 5:34, Jesus declared to the woman with the issue of blood, "Daughter, your faith has made you well." Her declaration of faith activated her healing.
5. HOW TO MAKE EFFECTIVE DIVINE DECLARATIONS
a) Declare God’s Word, Not Just Your Thoughts:
When making declarations, focus on God’s promises rather than your own desires or fears (Romans 4:17).
b) Speak with Confidence and Boldness:
Declare with boldness and confidence, knowing that God has given you the authority to speak His will into existence (Hebrews 4:16).
c) Declare in Agreement with Others:
There is power in agreement. When you declare with others in faith, it increases the power and effectiveness of the declaration (Matthew 18:19-20).
d) Declare Continuously:
Never stop declaring the promises of God. Declare them over your life, your family, your circumstances, and your nation (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
e) Biblical Example:
The Israelites declared God’s victory before they went into battle (2 Chronicles 20:21-22), and their declaration resulted in divine victory.
CONCLUSION:
Divine declaration is not a mere practice of speaking words into the air; it is a powerful tool in the hands of believers. When we declare God’s word, we align ourselves with His will, activate His promises, and bring forth divine intervention. It is essential to speak with faith, authority, and alignment with God’s timing. As you continue to declare His word, expect the establishment of His will in every area of your life.
