INTRODUCTION:
Divine possibility refers to the limitless power of God to do what seems humanly impossible. It emphasises God’s ability to defy natural laws, overcome barriers, and bring His promises to fruition. This message will explore the principles, biblical examples, and outcomes of divine possibilities in our lives.
1. THE NATURE OF DIVINE POSSIBILITY
Divine possibility is rooted in God’s omnipotence and sovereignty.
a) God’s Unlimited Power:
Nothing is too hard for God (Jeremiah 32:17).
b) Supernatural Intervention:
God steps into human situations to alter outcomes (Exodus 14:21-22).
c) Defying Natural Laws:
Divine possibility operates beyond human logic (2 Kings 6:5-7).
d) Faith as a Key:
Faith is essential to experience divine possibilities (Mark 9:23).
e) God’s Sovereignty:
God works according to His will and purpose (Ephesians 1:11).
Biblical Example:
Sarah conceived Isaac despite her advanced age, showing that nothing is impossible with God (Genesis 18:10-14).
2. PRINCIPLES FOR EXPERIENCING DIVINE POSSIBILITY
Certain principles guide us to walk in divine possibilities.
a) Absolute Faith in God:
Trusting God without wavering unlocks His power (Hebrews 11:6).
b) Persistent Prayer:
Pray fervently and persistently for divine intervention (Luke 18:1-8).
c) Obedience to Divine Instructions:
Obey God even when His instructions seem illogical (John 2:7-8).
d) Speaking God’s Word:
Declare the Word of God over your situation (Proverbs 18:21).
e) Patience in God’s Timing:
Wait for God’s appointed time for manifestation (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Biblical Example:
The widow of Zarephath experienced divine provision because of her obedience to Elijah’s instructions (1 Kings 17:12-16).
3. EXAMPLES OF DIVINE POSSIBILITY IN SCRIPTURE
The Bible is filled with accounts of God turning impossibilities into testimonies.
a) Parting of the Red Sea:
God made a way where there was no way (Exodus 14:21-22).
b) The Walls of Jericho Falling:
An impenetrable wall collapsed by God’s power (Joshua 6:20).
c) Resurrection of Lazarus:
Jesus brought Lazarus back to life after four days (John 11:43-44).
d) Provision of Manna:
God supplied food for Israel in the wilderness (Exodus 16:14-15).
e) The Virgin Birth:
Jesus’ birth through Mary showcases divine possibility (Luke 1:34-37).
Biblical Example:
David defeated Goliath with just a sling and stone, demonstrating that with God, size and strength are irrelevant (1 Samuel 17:45-50).
4. HINDRANCES TO DIVINE POSSIBILITY
Certain attitudes and actions can limit divine possibilities in our lives.
a) Unbelief:
Doubt prevents the manifestation of God’s power (Matthew 13:58).
b) Fear:
Fear undermines faith and invites defeat (2 Timothy 1:7).
c) Disobedience:
Ignoring God’s instructions hinders breakthroughs (1 Samuel 15:22).
d) Impatience:
Rushing ahead of God’s plan leads to mistakes (Genesis 16:2).
e) Negative Confessions:
Speaking against God’s promises limits His work (Numbers 14:28).
Biblical Example:
The Israelites’ unbelief and fear kept them from entering the Promised Land for 40 years (Numbers 14:1-4).
CONCLUSION:
Divine possibility is God’s speciality. No situation is too hard, no problem is too complex, and no promise is too great for Him to fulfil. Embrace faith, prayer, and obedience, and watch God turn your impossibilities into testimonies.
