INTRODUCTION
Life often presents moments when you are at a crossroads, unsure of which step to take. God sometimes calls His people to move forward even when the path seems unclear, intimidating, or impossible. These moments require faith, obedience, and courage because God’s instructions always precede His provision and breakthrough.
Exodus 14:15 illustrates this principle: the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea, yet God commanded them to move forward. Faith in God’s direction positioned them for supernatural deliverance.
This message will teach you to recognise God’s call to advance, trust His guidance, act boldly, and step into the new season He has prepared for you.
1. RECOGNISE GOD’S CALL TO MOVE
God’s direction is often distinct and purposeful.
a) LISTEN TO GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS – Divine guidance is usually clear when you seek Him earnestly (Isaiah 30:21). Attentiveness prevents delays.
b) DISTINGUISH GOD’S VOICE FROM FEAR – Fear can mimic urgency, but God’s call empowers (John 10:27). Discernment ensures obedience to Him, not panic.
c) UNDERSTAND THE TIMING – God often calls you forward at the right moment, not necessarily when it seems convenient (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Patience aligns with precision.
d) EMBRACE FAITH IN UNCERTAINTY – Moving by God’s word may require stepping beyond your comfort zone (Hebrews 11:8). Courage ensures breakthrough.
Biblical Example: Moses obeyed God’s instruction to lead Israel toward the Red Sea despite imminent danger, and God’s power delivered them (Exodus 14:15-22).
2. TRUST GOD’S POWER TO CLEAR THE WAY
Faith in God’s ability is essential before taking steps forward.
a) BELIEVE GOD PREPARES THE PATH – God’s presence ensures victory (Psalm 37:23). Trust that every obstacle will be removed.
b) EXPECT SUPERNATURAL INTERVENTION – Miracles accompany obedience (Joshua 3:14-17). God fights on your behalf.
c) STAY CONFIDENT IN ADVERSITY – Opposition does not negate God’s promise (Philippians 4:13). Confidence activates divine favor.
d) RELY ON GOD’S STRENGTH, NOT YOURS – Human ability is limited; divine enablement is limitless (2 Corinthians 12:9). Dependence guarantees success.
Biblical Example: The Israelites crossed the Red Sea on dry ground as God fought their battles, confirming His power to clear every obstacle (Exodus 14:21-22).
3. ACT WITH BOLDNESS AND OBEDIENCE
God’s instruction requires action to release His promises.
a) MOVE IMMEDIATELY – Delays can limit breakthroughs (Proverbs 6:4). Timely obedience releases favor.
b) STEP OUT IN FAITH – Action demonstrates trust in God (James 2:17). Faith without works is inactive.
c) FOLLOW DIVINE STRATEGY – God’s plan may seem unconventional but is effective (Isaiah 55:8-9). Obedience ensures success.
d) MAINTAIN PERSISTENCE – Steadfastness ensures the path remains open and blessings flow (Galatians 6:9). Perseverance secures breakthrough.
Biblical Example: Joshua led the Israelites around Jericho following God’s unconventional instructions, resulting in the miraculous collapse of the city walls (Joshua 6:1-20).
4. EXPECT TRANSFORMATION AND BREAKTHROUGH
Moving forward in obedience positions you for supernatural results.
a) SEE OBSTACLES TURNED INTO OPPORTUNITIES – God transforms challenges into stepping stones (Romans 8:28). Trust His design.
b) RECEIVE PROMOTION AND INCREASE – Progress comes with God’s favor (Psalm 75:6-7). Advancement follows obedience.
c) EXPERIENCE PEACE IN TRANSITION – God’s presence sustains you through change (Isaiah 26:3). Stability accompanies divine movement.
d) GLORIFY GOD THROUGH YOUR TESTIMONY – Recognition strengthens faith and inspires others (Psalm 34:1). Praise multiplies blessings.
Biblical Example: Peter walked on water when he obeyed Jesus’ command to step out of the boat, demonstrating that moving forward by faith releases divine possibilities (Matthew 14:28-29).
CONCLUSION
When God says, “Move forward,” it is an invitation to step into destiny, breakthrough, and divine fulfillment. Faith, obedience, and courage are necessary to access the new season He has prepared.
Take decisive steps today, trusting that God is ahead of you, fighting your battles, clearing your path, and ensuring victory. Your obedience to His instruction guarantees a year of supernatural breakthroughs, elevation, and testimonies.
