POWER AGAINST MARITAL GATES
By Rev. Samuel Arimoro
Main Text: Psalm 24:7-10 – “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”

INTRODUCTION:
Marriage is God’s ordained institution for companionship, procreation, and fulfilment of destiny. However, the enemy has set up spiritual gates to hinder many from experiencing the joy of marital settlement. These gates can manifest as delays, disappointments, heartbreaks, or even marital instability after wedding. Such gates must be confronted in prayer and pulled down by the power of God.
In biblical symbolism, gates represent places of decision, control, and access. When there is a spiritual gate against someone’s marital life, it means there is a demonic control point limiting entry into God’s blessings in marriage. These gates may be rooted in family altars, ancestral covenants, curses, or personal disobedience to God’s Word.
The good news is that Jesus has given us authority over every spiritual gate. Just as the walls of Jericho fell and the prison gates in Acts 12 opened on their own accord, every marital gate can be commanded to lift by the authority in the name of Jesus. In this study, we will learn how to identify, confront, and overcome these gates.
1. UNDERSTANDING MARITAL GATES

Marital gates are spiritual barriers that restrict entry into marital fulfilment.
b) The spiritual significance of gates (Genesis 22:17)
Gates signify control points where decisions about one’s destiny are made.
c) Types of marital gates (Song of Solomon 8:8-9)
They can be delay gates, disappointment gates, or separation gates.
d) Signs of marital gates at work (Proverbs 13:12)
Long delays, repeated heartbreaks, and unexplained rejections.

3. GOD’S PROVISION FOR VICTORY OVER MARITAL GATES

Every gate must bow to His name.

Breaking legal grounds of the enemy.

Persistent warfare until the gates lift.
