"And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?" (Genesis 41:38)

INTRODUCTION:
Greatness is not an accident; it is the outcome of divine arrangement, preparation, and timing. In the kingdom of God, greatness is not measured merely by possessions or human applause, but by the fulfilment of divine purpose and the impact of a life aligned with God’s will.

There are many who have dreams and talents, yet without divine positioning, their potential remains hidden. Divine positioning is when God aligns your location, timing, relationships, and opportunities in such a way that your destiny is fulfilled. It is what took Joseph from a prison cell to the throne room in one day.

When God positions a man, no human opposition, systemic barrier, or demonic resistance can stop his rising. Today, we shall explore how God positions His people for greatness and how you can activate that positioning in your life.

1. GREATNESS COMES FROM GOD ALONE
True greatness cannot be manufactured by human ambition; it is divinely bestowed.

a) God is the ultimate source of promotion (Psalm 75:6-7)
Promotion does not come from the east, west, or south, but from the Lord who puts down one and sets up another. This means your rising is determined in heaven before it manifests on earth.

b) Human connections cannot replace divine connection (Jeremiah 17:5-8)
While relationships may open doors, only God can sustain your relevance and influence. Trusting in man without God’s backing leads to frustration and disappointment.

c) God exalts the humble (James 4:10)
Humility before God and man prepares you for elevation. Pride repels God’s grace, but humility attracts divine lifting.

d) God can change your story in one day (2 Kings 7:1)
The same God who turned famine into abundance in 24 hours can turn your lowly position into a place of honour overnight.

Biblical Example: Joseph’s sudden promotion from prison to palace was a divine act orchestrated by God’s hand (Genesis 41:38-44).

2. DIVINE POSITIONING REQUIRES PREPARATION
Before God places a man in greatness, He first prepares him to handle it.

a) Faithfulness in small things leads to greater responsibilities (Luke 16:10)
Joseph served diligently in Potiphar’s house and the prison, and his faithfulness was the foundation for his elevation.

b) Excellence attracts recognition (Proverbs 22:29)
A man skilled in his work will stand before kings. Excellence is a magnet that draws the attention of destiny helpers.

c) Righteousness preserves your destiny (Proverbs 11:3)
Integrity is the shield that prevents the enemy from discrediting your greatness. Without character, greatness can be destroyed.

d) Wisdom and discretion open doors (Ecclesiastes 8:1)
Wisdom beautifies a man’s countenance and gives him access to opportunities that others miss.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s unwavering faith and outstanding performance positioned him for promotion in a foreign land (Daniel 6:1-3).

3. OBEDIENCE TO GOD POSITIONS YOU FOR LIFTING
Obedience is the bridge between divine instruction and divine elevation.

a) Immediate obedience brings timely elevation (Genesis 12:1-4)
Abraham’s willingness to move at God’s word led to generational blessings.

b) God rewards diligent followers of His instructions (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
When you obey fully, blessings will pursue and overtake you.

c) Disobedience hinders divine placement (1 Samuel 15:22-23)
King Saul lost his position because he prioritised personal judgement over divine command.

d) Obedience requires faith in the unseen (Hebrews 11:8)
Sometimes God will ask you to move without giving you the full picture, but faith-filled obedience always results in greatness.

Biblical Example: Peter’s obedience to Jesus’ instruction to cast the net again resulted in a miraculous catch (Luke 5:4-6).

4. THE POWER OF DIVINE FAVOUR IN POSITIONING
Favour is the supernatural advantage that places you ahead of others without violating divine principles.

a) Favour is God’s signature of approval (Psalm 5:12)
When God surrounds you with favour, every closed door becomes an open opportunity.

b) Favour makes people speak for you in your absence (Esther 2:15)
Destiny helpers will mention your name in places where decisions about your future are made.

c) Favour turns rejection into acceptance (Genesis 39:21)
Even in prison, Joseph’s life radiated with favour that prepared him for greatness.

d) Favour accelerates your journey to the top (Nehemiah 2:4-8)
With favour, processes are shortened, and opportunities are fast-tracked.

Biblical Example: Esther’s rise to queenship was purely a product of divine favour (Esther 2:17).

5. PRAYER AS THE KEY TO DIVINE POSITIONING
Prayer invites God’s hand into the affairs of your destiny.

a) Prayer aligns you with God’s will (Matthew 6:10)
Through prayer, you position yourself within God’s divine plan for your life.

b) Prayer breaks limitations (Acts 16:25-26)
Chains, barriers, and spiritual roadblocks are removed in the place of prayer.

c) Prayer opens new opportunities (James 5:17-18)
Persistent prayer has the power to shift seasons and open doors.

d) Prayer releases angelic assistance (Daniel 10:12-13)
Through prayer, angels are dispatched to bring answers and breakthroughs.

Biblical Example: Jabez prayed for enlargement, and God granted his request, positioning him for greatness (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).

CONCLUSION:
Divine positioning is the invisible hand of God that aligns you for visibility, honour, and relevance. Without God’s positioning, human efforts may only lead to temporary success, but with His positioning, your greatness will be both impactful and lasting.

Today, just like Jabez, you must cry out from your heart: “Oh Lord, position me for greatness!” Your days of obscurity are over. This is your appointed time to step into your God-ordained destiny.
