MY HEAD IS FOR BLESSINGS NOT FOR BURDENS

MY HEAD IS FOR BLESSINGS AND NOT FOR BURDENS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Deuteronomy 28:13

Supporting Texts: Psalm 23:5, Ecclesiastes 9:8, Isaiah 61:3, Psalm 3:3, Numbers 6:24-26

INTRODUCTION:
The head is one of the most spiritually significant parts of the human body. In Scripture, it symbolises leadership, honour, identity, and destiny. What rests on your head determines what manifests in your life—whether blessing or burden, honour or shame, favour or frustration. The enemy knows this truth, which is why he targets people's heads with evil loads, yokes, and negative pronouncements.

However, as a child of God redeemed by the blood of Jesus, your head is not to carry burdens placed by the enemy. You were not created to carry sorrow, shame, affliction, or inherited yokes. Your head is ordained for blessings, elevation, honour, and divine oil. The enemy may try to place evil loads upon you, but you must violently reject them through revelation, declaration, and prayer.

This message is a declaration of spiritual liberty—your head is for blessings, not burdens! You are anointed for glory, not for grief. Every burden shall roll away, and your crown of favour shall be restored in Jesus' name.

1. THE HEAD REPRESENTS DESTINY AND HONOUR
Your head is the seat of your identity and divine purpose.

a) God’s blessings flow from the head (Psalm 133:2)
Just as oil was poured on Aaron’s head and flowed down, blessings begin from the top.

b) The head determines direction (Isaiah 30:21)
Where the head turns, the body follows—meaning your head must be aligned with God’s will.

c) A blessed head carries divine identity (Ecclesiastes 9:8)
Let your garments always be white, and let your head lack no ointment. You are meant to carry glory.

d) A cursed head attracts demonic affliction (Deuteronomy 28:43-44)
When a person is under spiritual oppression, they become the tail, not the head.

e) Biblical Example: In 1 Samuel 17:49-51, David struck Goliath’s head. That signified a termination of demonic oppression over Israel. Victory began when the enemy’s head was crushed.

2. THE ENEMY SEEKS TO LOAD HEADS WITH BURDENS
There is a spiritual warfare to place heavy burdens on people's lives, but they can be resisted.

a) Evil loads are not meant for you (Matthew 11:28-30)
Jesus invites us to exchange burdens—His yoke is easy, His burden is light.

b) The enemy uses curses, yokes, and ancestral covenants (Lamentations 5:7)
Some people carry what their forefathers did not break—generational burdens.

c) Burdens manifest as stagnation, depression, confusion (Isaiah 10:27)
When the anointing increases, burdens are broken and yokes are destroyed.

d) You must spiritually resist evil burdens (James 4:7)
Don’t accept what God did not assign to you. Resist and reject.

e) Biblical Example: In Numbers 23:8, Balaam could not curse whom God had blessed. Though summoned to burden Israel spiritually, he declared what God said—“You are blessed!”

3. YOUR HEAD IS FOR THE OIL OF BLESSINGS
God desires to beautify, anoint, and favour your life.

a) You are the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13)
This is not just a promise—it is a prophetic positioning. You are for elevation.

b) The oil on your head attracts favour (Psalm 23:5)
He anoints your head with oil and your cup runs over. A blessed head enjoys abundance.

c) Instead of ashes, He gives you beauty (Isaiah 61:3)
Where the enemy wants to plant shame, God gives a crown of beauty.

d) Your head is your crown—protect it (Ecclesiastes 10:1)
Dead flies spoil the ointment—stay in righteousness to preserve the oil.

e) Biblical Example: In Esther 6:10-12, Mordecai’s head that was supposed to be hanged became the head that was honoured and paraded in royal apparel. Blessings overturned burdens.

4. PROTECTING YOUR HEAD FROM SPIRITUAL BURDENS
You must take spiritual responsibility to ensure your head carries only God’s divine deposits.

a) Saturate your life with the Word of God (Psalm 119:105)
The Word renews your mind and keeps your head clear of confusion.

b) Engage in consistent prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29)
Some burdens are too heavy to shake off casually—you must travail in the spirit.

c) Declare your covenant status daily (Galatians 3:13-14)
You are not under a curse, you are under the blessing of Abraham.

d) Avoid sin and ungodly associations (Proverbs 13:20)
Wrong associations can lead to burdens you were never meant to carry.

e) Biblical Example: Jesus in Luke 21:18 said, “Not a hair of your head shall perish.” That shows divine commitment to your preservation and blessing.

CONCLUSION:
Your head is not designed for sorrow, shame, or inherited struggles. You are a covenant child—anointed to rule, crowned with glory, and preserved by grace. Every burden the enemy has tried to place on your life must be rolled away today. Your mind, your identity, your destiny—everything that concerns your head—is under divine protection.

Refuse to accept anything that is not part of God's promise. Say boldly every day, “My head is for blessings and not for burdens!” Walk in the liberty and dignity that Christ has given you. Let every curse turn to a blessing. Let every sorrow be turned into songs of joy. You are crowned for glory.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, I thank You for placing Your blessings and not burdens on my head.
2. Every burden placed upon my head spiritually, be lifted by the power in the blood of Jesus.
3. I command every inherited curse working against my rising to break now in Jesus’ name.
4. Let the oil of favour and honour flow continually upon my head.
5. O Lord, crown my life with wisdom, glory, and distinction.
6. Every demonic hand laying burdens on my destiny, wither by fire!
7. I declare, my head is for blessings, favour, honour, and divine oil, now and always!
