“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”

INTRODUCTION:
Divine release signifies a supernatural intervention where God liberates individuals from spiritual, emotional, or physical bondage. It is God’s response to oppression, captivity, and stagnation, bringing freedom, restoration, and progress. This sermon explores the principles, examples, and pathways to experiencing divine release in every area of life.

1. UNDERSTANDING DIVINE RELEASE

a) It is a Sovereign Act of God:
Divine release originates from God’s authority (Psalm 146:7).

b) It Breaks the Yoke of Bondage:
Every form of captivity is destroyed (Isaiah 10:27).

c) It Restores Lost Opportunities:
God restores what was stolen or delayed (Joel 2:25).

d) It Brings Total Freedom:
Divine release is complete and undeniable (John 8:36).

e) Biblical Example: The Israelites’ exodus from Egypt marked a complete release from over 400 years of bondage (Exodus 12:31-33).

2. THE PURPOSES OF DIVINE RELEASE

a) To Set the Oppressed Free:
God desires liberty for His people (Isaiah 49:25).

b) To Manifest His Glory:
Divine release brings glory to God (Exodus 14:31).

c) To Fulfil God’s Promises:
Release enables the fulfilment of divine covenants (Genesis 15:13-14).

d) To Advance His Kingdom:
God releases His people to serve Him (Exodus 8:1).

e) Biblical Example: Paul and Silas experienced divine release through an earthquake that set them free, leading to salvation in a Philippian jailer’s household (Acts 16:25-34).

3. HOW TO EXPERIENCE DIVINE RELEASE

a) Cry Out to God:
Persistent prayer and intercession provoke divine release (Exodus 3:7).

b) Walk in Obedience:
Obedience opens the door to liberation (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

c) Exercise Faith:
Believe in God’s power to set you free (Mark 9:23).

d) Engage in Praise and Worship:
Praise ushers in God’s presence for divine intervention (Acts 16:25).

e) Biblical Example: The widow of Zarephath experienced divine provision and release from lack through obedience and faith (1 Kings 17:8-16).

4. SIGNS OF DIVINE RELEASE

a) Chains are Broken:
Spiritual and physical limitations are destroyed (Acts 12:6-7).

b) Restoration of Peace:
God’s release brings inner peace and rest (Philippians 4:7).

c) Accelerated Progress:
Stagnation gives way to divine acceleration (Amos 9:13).

d) Uncommon Favour:
Released individuals experience divine favour (Psalm 102:13).

e) Biblical Example: Joseph’s release from prison led to his promotion as governor in Egypt (Genesis 41:39-41).

5. LESSONS FROM DIVINE RELEASE

a) God’s Timing is Perfect:
He releases His people at the appointed time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

b) God is Faithful to His Word:
Divine release fulfils His promises (Psalm 105:19-20).

c) God’s Power is Unlimited:
There is no bondage He cannot break (Jeremiah 32:27).

d) God Uses Men as Instruments of Release:
He raises deliverers for His people (Judges 6:14).

e) Biblical Example: Nehemiah led the Israelites in rebuilding Jerusalem, signifying a release from shame and reproach (Nehemiah 2:17-18).

CONCLUSION:
Divine release is a manifestation of God’s love, power, and purpose for His children. As you cry out in faith, walk in obedience, and engage in praise, you will experience freedom from every form of bondage and enter into the fullness of God’s promises for your life.

1. Lord, release me from every bondage in my life.

2. Father, break every chain holding me back from fulfilling my destiny.

3. Lord, let every delay in my life come to an end.

4. Father, restore all that I have lost in the past.

5. Lord, release me into my season of joy and celebration.

8. Father, grant me divine acceleration in all my endeavours.

9. Lord, raise helpers for me in my season of need.

10. Father, let Your glory be evident in my life through divine release.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. Every chain holding you captive is broken in the name of Jesus.

2. You are released into your season of supernatural restoration.

3. Divine favour will open doors for you that no man can shut.

4. Your days of stagnation are over; you will experience divine acceleration.

5. The Lord will raise destiny helpers to assist you in fulfilling your purpose.

6. You are released from every spiritual, financial, and emotional bondage.

7. The peace of God will flood your heart and mind.

8. You will testify of uncommon breakthroughs and favour.

9. The glory of God will be evident in every area of your life.

10. You will walk in the fullness of divine release and fulfilment.

DIVINE RELEASE

Isaiah 49:24-25 (KJV) – "Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children."

Exodus 3:7-8 – God’s promise to deliver the Israelites from captivity.
Acts 12:5-7 – Peter’s miraculous release from prison.
Luke 4:18 – Jesus’ mission to set the captives free.

INTRODUCTION:
Divine release refers to the supernatural intervention of God that brings freedom and deliverance to His people. Just as God delivered Israel from the oppression of Egypt, He continues to deliver His people today from spiritual, physical, and emotional captivity. A divine release signifies the end of a season of bondage, stagnation, or oppression and the beginning of a new chapter of freedom and breakthrough. In this study, we will explore the concept of divine release and how we can position ourselves to experience it.

1. GOD IS A DELIVERER
Understanding that God is committed to setting His people free.

a) God's Nature as a Deliverer: From Genesis to Revelation, we see God as the one who delivers His people from oppression (Psalm 34:17).

b) Deliverance from Bondage: God freed the Israelites from the shackles of Egypt, showing His power over oppressive forces (Exodus 3:7-8).

c) God’s Power to Break Chains: Just as Peter was released from prison, God has the power to break every chain in our lives (Acts 12:5-7).

d) Spiritual and Physical Release: God’s release is not only spiritual but can affect every area of our lives – finances, health, and relationships (John 8:36).

Biblical Example:
The deliverance of Israel from Egypt (Exodus 14:29-31).

2. CONDITIONS FOR DIVINE RELEASE
Positioning ourselves to receive God’s intervention.

a) Cry for Help: Divine release often follows a desperate cry for help from God’s people (Psalm 34:6).

b) Faith and Trust in God: Trusting God’s ability to deliver is essential to experiencing His release (Hebrews 11:6).

c) Repentance and Surrender: Repenting of sin and surrendering to God's will prepares the way for divine release (2 Chronicles 7:14).

d) Obedience to God's Word: Just as the Israelites followed Moses' instructions during their deliverance, obedience leads to freedom (Exodus 12:21-23).

Biblical Example:
The people of Israel cried out to God, and He sent Moses to deliver them from Pharaoh’s grip (Exodus 2:23-25).

3. BREAKING BONDAGE AND OPPRESSION
Identifying the forces that hold us captive and seeking release.

a) Spiritual Bondage: Many face spiritual chains such as sin, addiction, and generational curses (Romans 6:14).

b) Emotional Captivity: Fear, depression, and anxiety can become chains that hold us back from fulfilling our destiny (2 Timothy 1:7).

c) Financial Oppression: Debt and poverty can limit our ability to serve God fully (Deuteronomy 28:12).

d) Generational Patterns: God’s divine release can break long-standing generational curses and limitations (Galatians 3:13).

Biblical Example:
The man at the pool of Bethesda, who had been in bondage for 38 years, was set free by Jesus (John 5:1-9).

4. THE PROCESS OF DIVINE RELEASE
How God brings about freedom and deliverance.

a) Divine Intervention: God Himself steps into the situation to bring about the release, as seen in Peter’s prison release (Acts 12:7).

b) Angelic Assistance: Sometimes, God sends angels to facilitate the release of His people (Acts 12:7-10).

c) Breaking Chains: God breaks the chains of limitation, oppression, and delay that hold us captive (Psalm 107:14).

d) Restoration After Release: After release, God restores what was lost during the period of bondage (Joel 2:25-26).

Biblical Example:
Paul and Silas experienced divine release from prison after worshipping God (Acts 16:25-26).

5. LIVING IN FREEDOM AFTER RELEASE
How to walk in sustained freedom after experiencing divine release.

a) Maintain Your Faith: After being released, maintaining faith is key to staying free (Galatians 5:1).

b) Watch and Pray: Vigilance in prayer helps us avoid falling back into bondage (Matthew 26:41).

c) Walking in Obedience: Continuing to walk in obedience ensures we stay in the place of freedom (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

d) Testify of God’s Goodness: Sharing testimonies strengthens faith and keeps the enemy at bay (Revelation 12:11).

Biblical Example:
Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more, showing that sustained freedom requires a new way of living (John 8:11).

CONCLUSION:
God is ready to bring about divine release in every area of our lives. He is the Deliverer who sets the captives free and breaks the yokes of oppression. As we cry out to Him, have faith, and align ourselves with His Word, we will experience His mighty hand of deliverance. We are called to live in the freedom that Christ has purchased for us, and that freedom is available today.

3. I receive freedom from generational curses and patterns in my life.

8. I walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for me.

9. O Lord, restore everything that was lost during my time of captivity!

10. I will testify of Your goodness and deliverance all the days of my life!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You are stepping into a season of divine release and total freedom!

2. Every chain that has held you down is broken today in the name of Jesus!

3. God is sending His angels to break you out of every captivity!

4. Your days of oppression and limitation are over!

5. You will no longer be bound by fear, poverty, or generational curses!

6. Divine restoration is coming to every area of your life!

7. You are free to pursue and fulfill your God-given destiny!

8. God’s power is setting you free from spiritual and emotional bondages!

9. The God who delivered Israel from Egypt is delivering you today!

10. You will live to testify of God’s miraculous intervention in your life!

11. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
12. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

Isaiah 10:27 (KJV) – "And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing."
John 8:36 (KJV) – "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

INTRODUCTION:
Many people live their lives bound by spiritual and physical limitations, unable to move forward into their God-given destinies. In Luke 13, we see a woman afflicted by a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years, unable to lift herself. This account reveals the power of Jesus to release us from every form of bondage. Today, we will explore the concept of spiritual bondage, the need for divine release, and the power of God to set us free from the chains that hold us down.

1. UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUAL BONDAGE
Defining what it means to be tied down spiritually and the implications it has on our lives.

a) Identifying Infirmity: The woman’s spirit of infirmity represents anything that keeps us from functioning fully in our lives.

b) The Weight of Infirmity: Living in bondage creates a burden that makes it impossible to rise above our circumstances (Luke 13:11).

c) Longevity of Bondage: Some bonds may last for years, leading to despair and hopelessness. This woman's condition lasted eighteen years (Luke 13:11).

d) The Impact of Isolation: Spiritual bondage can isolate us from community and prevent us from fulfilling our purpose (Mark 5:25-26).

Biblical Example:
The Israelites were bound in Egypt, unable to fulfill their destiny until God sent Moses to lead them out (Exodus 3:7-10).

2. THE CALL FOR RELEASE
Recognising the need for divine intervention to break free from bondage.

a) The Divine Eye: Jesus saw the woman, signifying that God is aware of our struggles and afflictions (Luke 13:12).

b) The Call to Action: Jesus called her to Himself, demonstrating that we must respond to God’s call for freedom.

c) Proclaiming Freedom: Jesus declared, "Thou art loosed," highlighting the authority of His words to break chains (Luke 13:12).

d) The Power of Touch: Jesus laid His hands on her, showing that divine touch brings transformation and healing.

Biblical Example:
In John 11, Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb, and he came forth alive, demonstrating the power of His voice to bring life (John 11:43-44).

3. IMMEDIATE TRANSFORMATION
Experiencing the change that comes from being set free by Christ.

a) Instantaneous Change: The woman was made straight immediately after being touched by Jesus (Luke 13:13).

b) Glorifying God: Her response was to glorify God, showing that our freedom should lead to worship and thanksgiving.

c) Breaking the Cycle: Freedom from bondage allows us to break cycles of defeat and dysfunction in our lives.

d) A New Identity: After being released, the woman stepped into a new identity as a daughter of God, free from her infirmity.

Biblical Example:
The blind man in John 9 was healed by Jesus and proclaimed the miracle, bringing glory to God (John 9:25).

4. PRAYING FOR DIVINE RELEASE
Practical steps to invite God’s release from bondage into our lives.

a) Cry Out for Help: Like the woman, we must cry out to God for freedom from every form of bondage.

b) Declare Your Release: Speak out the promises of God that declare your freedom in Christ (Isaiah 61:1).

c) Seek Divine Intervention: Pray for God to intervene and break every chain holding you down (Acts 16:25-26).

d) Receive His Touch: Invite the Holy Spirit to touch your life and bring transformation and healing.

Biblical Example:
The man with the withered hand cried out to Jesus, who healed him and restored his hand (Mark 3:1-5).

5. LIVING IN FREEDOM
Embracing a life free from spiritual limitations and walking in victory.

a) Walk in Your New Identity: Understand that you are free and no longer bound by past infirmities (2 Corinthians 5:17).

b) Stay Close to God: Maintain a close relationship with God to keep your freedom intact (James 4:7-8).

c) Be a Witness: Share your testimony of freedom with others, encouraging them to seek their release (Revelation 12:11).

d) Reject Future Bondage: Be vigilant against any forces that may try to pull you back into bondage (1 Peter 5:8).

Biblical Example:
The apostles, after being released from prison, boldly proclaimed the Gospel, illustrating their newfound freedom (Acts 5:19-20).

CONCLUSION:
God desires for us to be free from every form of spiritual bondage. Just as Jesus saw and healed the woman with the spirit of infirmity, He is ready to release us from the powers tying us down. We must respond to His call, accept His touch, and live in the freedom He provides. Today, let us declare that every power tying us down must release us and let us go!

PRAYER POINTS:
1. O Lord, I cry out for divine release from every form of bondage!

2. Powers tying me down, release me and let me go in the name of Jesus!

3. I declare that I am loosed from every spirit of infirmity affecting my life!

4. Lord, touch me with Your healing hands and transform my life!

5. I receive my identity as a child of God, free from all chains!

6. I break every cycle of defeat in my life by the blood of Jesus!

7. I pray for Your divine intervention in my situation, O Lord!

8. Every generational curse holding me back, be broken in Jesus’ name!

9. I will glorify God for the freedom I have received!

10. I declare that I am free to fulfill my God-given purpose!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You are released from every form of bondage in the name of Jesus!

2. Every power tying you down will let you go today!

3. Your healing and transformation will manifest instantly!

4. You will walk in your new identity as a free child of God!

5. Your testimony of freedom will inspire many!

6. The chains of generational curses are broken over your life!

7. You shall live a life of victory and purpose!

8. Every burden that has weighed you down is lifted today!

9. You are free to pursue your dreams and fulfill your destiny!

10. The glory of God will shine upon you as you walk in freedom!

YOUR STORY WILL CHANGE

TOPIC: YOUR STORY MUST CHANGE

TEXT:    2 Kings 25:27-30

INTRODUCTION

God is a changer of story. It does not matter how difficult a situation is, with God things change for better. Your story will change as you trust God and look to Him, who is the author and finisher of your faith.

I.  SEVEN IMPORTANT TRUTHS TO NOTE

1. There is no situation God cannot change. 

    - No sickness God cannot heal, No sinner God cannot save and No circumstance God cannot change.

2. In the Dictionary of God, there is nothing like impossibility. 

  

3. When God appears in your battle front, that will be the end of the battle.

    

4. No matter the strength of the opposition, one word from God can scatter your opposition.

     

5. There is no situation in life that God has not handle before.

    -  What you are going through is common and there is always a way of escape.

6. When you get to your wits end (a place of hopelessness) that is where God sets in.

7. God is a story changer.   

   

II. LESSONS DERIVED FROM THE BIBLE PASSAGE

2 Kings 25:27-30

This is a very wonderful and interesting story from the Bible and it shows that it is not over until it is over. I did not come for someone who thinks he/she has made it. But for someone who knows he is yet to arrive.

The good news I have for you in this month is that the story of your life is about to change, therefore be expectant. 

The background of the passage quoted above is in 2 Kings 24:10-16 which records the time Jechoiachin, King of Judah was taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar King of Judah. 2 Kings 25 vs. 27-30 now records the story of his release from captivity. 

A careful study of this passage will reveal several lessons for us.

1. The first lesson of this story is that there is a time for salvation, a time for liberty, and a time for freedom from bondage. The Bible was so careful to mention that Jehoiachin’s liberty occurred on the 27th day of the 12th month of the first year of the reign of Evil Merodach, King of Babylon. 

A.  There is a specific day, month and year your story will change and the good news is that Now is the time.

B.  The Israelites were meant to spend 430 years in captivity in Egypt before their deliverance, and it happened so. God is delivering you Now from every captivity in Jesus name

2. The second lesson from this passage is that God can use anybody for your liberty. No matter how wicked your Boss could be, he/she would be an instrument in the hands of God for your freedom in Jesus name. I assume the person God used to free Jehoiachin was not a good man, because Kings of Babylon were mean and wicked. 

A.  In this particular case, Merodach did not have any pretensions to be a kind King, and his first name is ‘Evil’. Yet the Evil king freed Jehoiachin from 37 years captivity. 

  -  A man bought refrigerator for a man of God he did not like.

   -  Mrs Joy Ifije was honored by Governor Adams Oshiomhole after he told her to go and die.

The message is for us to trust in God rather than man. Anyone can be used by God for your freedom

3. The third lesson is that it does not matter how long you have spent in captivity,  the important thing is that Jesus will intervene in your situation. Could you imagine that Jechoiachin spent 37 years in prison? You might have spent half of your life time in one form of affliction or the other, but divine help and intervention is coming now. The story of your life will be rewritten for good in Jesus name,

4. The fourth lesson from this story is that it shall come to pass. Please read the first few words of 2 Kings 25 vs. 27: ‘And it came to pass..”. Your dreams shall come to pass and become realities in Jesus name. Your imprisonments shall come to pass and turn to freedom in Jesus name. What have you believed God for?  A new Job, healing, a baby, Prosperity, new accommodation. What? It shall come to pass. 

-  The word "it came to pass" appears 452 times in the Bible.- -    -    Hannah's barrenness came to pass (1 Sam 1:21).

5. Another lesson from this passage is that it does not matter how long you have spent expecting a miracle. It does not matter how long you have been believing God for healing. What matters is that you should not lose hope but hold on to God  in faith. Jehoiachin spent 37 lonely years in the prison. During these years friends and relations must have deserted him. He must have passed through sufferings, but one day his story changed. 

6.  Yet another lesson. You know it was Nebuchadnezzar that captured King Jehoiachin, but it was another King- Evil Merodach that set him free in the first year he started to reign. A new King is coming to the throne that will set you free. A new Boss is coming to your office that will restore you to your rightful position. 

Every Nebuchadnezzar that has put you in any form of prison, the Lord will cause him to be removed suddenly and unexpectedly in Jesus name. The new King that will free you will come to the throne for your sake in Jesus name.

 - Gen. Sani Abacha a one time military head of state in Nigeria died and Obasanjo whom he imprisoned was released from Prison by the next President, General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

7. The seventh from this passage is that you must not lose hope. No matter your affliction, do not give up. Never think of committing suicide no matter the storms of life. Because Satan has not succeeded in killing you (and he will never succeed in Jesus name) you are still a dangerous person. Do you know that Jehoiachin could have died in prison before his liberty came if he had committed suicide or allowed his thoughts to weigh him down?  But he never gave up and stayed alive to experience his liberty.

8. The new lesson is that divine promotion is going to accompany your liberty.When Jehoiachin was freed from prison he was exalted into a position that was higher than his previous position. The Bible says in 2 Kings 25:28 that Evil Merodach  …’set his throne above the throne of the Kings that were with him in Babylon’. You are going  to a new level in Jesus name.

9. Let us consider the story of King Jehoiachin further. You know for 37 years he was wearing Prison garments? Imagine a King wearing Prison garments for 37 years? May be you are now in a lowly position compared to your past life, don’t worry, your story will soon change. One day, the story of King Jehoiachin changed and the Prison garments was changed by a royal order! See 2 Kings 25 vs 29. Every evil garment on your body and life will soon be replaced by the garments of Royalty in Jesus name.

10. The tenth fact about your forthcoming restoration is that it will bring comfort. When King Jehoiachin was brought out of prison, he was not living an ordinary life, but the Bible says he ate Bread continuously placed before him all  the days of his life.

You shall end your life in comfort.

11. Another related lesson is that when the story of your life changes soon, you will start living in abundance. When Jehoiachin was released from Prison,  a continual allowance was given him all remaining days of his life. You are not going back to affliction in Jesus name. The miracle God is about to do in your life shall be permanent in Jesus name. No form of affliction shall arise again in Jesus name.

12. The last point I like to make is that when the story of your life changes, you shall start feeding on the wealth of nations according to the word of God.

 Read this: 2 Kings 25:30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life. 

Why not rejoice because you shall soon start to feed from the Kings palace. You will soon start to get International jobs and contracts in Jesus name. God is about to connect you and International doors and opportunities shall be opened unto you in Jesus name.

CONCLUSION

Do you believe this story and that the God of Jehoiachin will change you story even today? I believe that Jehoiachin had a relationship with God all through the 37 years he was imprisoned. If not God would not have intervened and perform a miracle in his life.

God will change your own story for good as you put your trust in Him.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Good things closed against me, open, in the name of Jesus.

2. Every yoke that holds me, break in the name of Jesus.

3. This year, my story shall change to glory in the name of Jesus.

4. This year, my God shall arise and permanently stop my tears in the name of Jesus.

5. If I must cry this year, it shall be a cry of joy in the name of Jesus.
