INTRODUCTION:
In a world filled with injustice, betrayal, and human wickedness, many hearts cry for justice. The Scriptures introduce us to a dimension of God as the God of Recompense—the One who sees, remembers, and repays. Unlike human systems that may fail, God never forgets what has been done to His people. He does not ignore wrongs, and He ensures that both righteousness and wickedness receive their due reward.

To recompense means to repay, reward, restore, or retaliate. God not only pays back evil with righteous judgment but also rewards faithfulness and restores what has been lost or stolen. Whether you’ve suffered loss, injustice, betrayal, or delay, you must know this: God is a Rewarder and a Restorer.

Today’s message reminds us that God settles accounts. He vindicates the righteous, punishes the wicked, and gives double honour to those who trust Him. Let’s explore what it means for God to be the God of Recompense.

1. GOD REPAYS THE ENEMIES OF HIS PEOPLE
God is not indifferent to the wickedness done against His children. He acts in divine justice.

a) He Is a God of Vengeance and Justice (Hebrews 10:30)
Vengeance belongs to the Lord; He will repay those who trouble His own.

b) He Deals with Oppressors and Injustice (Jeremiah 51:56)
Babylon was repaid for what it did to Israel—the Lord is a recompensing God.

c) He Will Expose and Judge the Wicked (Romans 12:19)
God tells us not to avenge ourselves—He will repay in due time.

d) Divine Justice May Seem Delayed but Never Denied (Ecclesiastes 8:11)
Though judgment is delayed, God never forgets.

Biblical Example: Pharaoh and Egypt—After oppressing Israel, God repaid them with plagues and the Red Sea judgment (Exodus 12:29-36; 14:28).

2. GOD RESTORES WHAT HAS BEEN LOST
God does not just repay in judgment—He restores in mercy.

a) God Promises Restoration of Lost Years (Joel 2:25)
What the enemy stole—time, resources, opportunities—God will restore.

b) He Turns Shame into Honour (Isaiah 61:7)
Where you have faced disgrace, He gives you double glory.

c) He Repays in Full and Adds More (Job 42:10)
Job received double of all he had lost when God restored him.

d) Divine Recompense Brings Completion (Philippians 1:6)
God will complete the work He started in your life.

Biblical Example: Ruth—She lost everything but received full restoration and honour through divine recompense (Ruth 4:13-17).

3. GOD REWARDS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND FAITHFULNESS
God remembers those who serve and honour Him.

a) God Is a Rewarder of Those Who Diligently Seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)
You cannot seek God sincerely and go unrewarded.

b) Faithful Service Never Goes Unnoticed (Matthew 10:42)
Even a cup of water given in Jesus’ name will be rewarded.

c) Labour in the Lord Is Never in Vain (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Keep serving—the God of recompense will reward in due season.

d) He Comes with Rewards in His Hands (Revelation 22:12)
Jesus returns to reward every man according to his work.

Biblical Example: Cornelius—His prayers and giving came before God, and he was rewarded with salvation and favour (Acts 10:1-4).

4. GOD SETTLES ACCOUNTS WITH PERFECT FAIRNESS
God’s recompense is both righteous and timely.

a) He Judges Without Partiality (Acts 10:34-35)
God repays according to truth and justice.

b) He Will Balance the Scales (Proverbs 11:1)
God abhors injustice and false balances.

c) Every Seed Will Produce a Harvest (Galatians 6:7)
What a man sows, he will also reap—God ensures harvests.

d) God’s Justice Is Comprehensive—Nothing Escapes Him (Ecclesiastes 12:14)
Every secret deed will be judged—whether good or evil.

Biblical Example: Ananias and Sapphira—They lied to the Holy Spirit and were judged immediately (Acts 5:1-10).

CONCLUSION:
The God of recompense is a God who watches over all things. He sees your tears, your labour, your losses, and your pain. He also sees the injustice, the betrayal, and the harm done to you. He is not asleep—He will repay. Whether you need justice, restoration, or a reward, God is faithful to settle you in due time.

Stand firm. Keep your heart from bitterness and your hands from vengeance. Wait for the God of recompense—He will surely come and make all things right. Nothing you have lost, suffered, or done for God will be forgotten. Your day of recompense is near.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. O Lord, arise as the God of recompense and fight for me.
2. Father, restore every loss I have suffered—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
