INTRODUCTION:
Grace is one of the most profound expressions of God’s love toward mankind. It is God giving us what we do not deserve—salvation, forgiveness, strength, favour, and divine help. Without grace, none of us could stand before God. Grace is not a licence to sin; it is the empowerment to live righteously. The God of Grace makes a way where we have failed, strengthens us where we are weak, and blesses us in spite of our unworthiness.
Grace is the divine currency of heaven. It sustains us, teaches us, and empowers us to fulfil God's will. The God of Grace is not a distant deity, but an ever-present Father who lifts, restores, and empowers. From Genesis to Revelation, we see His grace in action—restoring fallen men, calling the unqualified, and using the broken for His glory.
As we explore this topic, may our hearts be overwhelmed with gratitude and our lives transformed by the understanding that we serve the God of Grace—abundant, unmerited, and powerful.
1. GOD’S GRACE SAVES US
Salvation is the greatest demonstration of divine grace.
a) Grace is the Means of Our Salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We are saved not by our works, but by God’s undeserved favour.
b) Grace is Extended to All Humanity (Titus 2:11)
The saving grace of God has appeared to everyone—no one is beyond reach.
c) Grace Breaks the Power of Sin (Romans 6:14)
Grace empowers us to overcome sin, not indulge in it.
d) Grace is Received by Faith (Romans 5:1-2)
We access grace through simple, childlike trust in God.
Biblical Example: The Thief on the Cross—Though condemned to die, he received salvation by grace (Luke 23:42-43).
2. GOD’S GRACE STRENGTHENS US
God’s grace empowers us in our weaknesses and trials.
a) His Grace is Sufficient in Our Weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Paul discovered that God's strength is made perfect in weakness.
b) Grace Enables Us to Endure Hardship (2 Timothy 2:1)
We are strengthened for spiritual warfare through grace.
c) Grace Helps Us to Say “No” to Sin (Titus 2:12)
Grace teaches us to live holy, upright, and godly lives.
d) Grace Restores the Fallen (Joel 2:25)
Even after failure, God’s grace can redeem and renew us.
Biblical Example: Peter after Denying Jesus—He was restored by grace and became a mighty apostle (John 21:15-17).
3. GOD’S GRACE POSITIONS US FOR FAVOUR
Grace brings open doors, honour, and elevation beyond natural qualifications.
a) Grace Brings Divine Favour and Help (Psalm 84:11)
God bestows grace and glory; He withholds nothing good.
b) Grace Makes Room for the Unqualified (1 Corinthians 15:10)
Paul declared that he became who he was by grace.
c) Grace Promotes in Due Season (1 Peter 5:10)
After suffering, grace establishes and lifts us.
d) Grace Grants Access to God’s Presence (Hebrews 4:16)
We approach God boldly because of grace, not merit.
Biblical Example: Esther before the King—She obtained grace and favour, and became a vessel of deliverance (Esther 5:2).
4. GOD’S GRACE IS A TEACHER AND A TRANSFORMER
Grace is not passive; it actively shapes our character and conduct.
a) Grace Teaches Us to Deny Ungodliness (Titus 2:11-12)
It trains us to live lives that reflect God’s holiness.
b) Grace Leads to Good Works (Ephesians 2:10)
Though not saved by works, grace empowers us to do good works.
c) Grace Builds Humility (James 4:6)
God gives more grace to the humble and resists the proud.
d) Grace Transforms Weakness into Testimony (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Your struggle becomes a platform for His glory through grace.
Biblical Example: Zacchaeus the Tax Collector—Transformed by an encounter with grace, he repented and restored what he stole (Luke 19:8-9).
CONCLUSION:
The God we serve is not just powerful, but gracious. His grace is our daily sustenance, our hope, and our testimony. We are who we are—not because we are perfect—but because the God of Grace has carried us, forgiven us, and empowered us. When you truly encounter His grace, you are never the same.
As we go through life, let us not take this grace for granted. Let it lead us to gratitude, holiness, humility, and service. For every weakness, there is grace; for every failure, there is grace; for every calling, there is grace.
