INTRODUCTION
Giving is a fundamental principle in the Kingdom of God. It is more than just an act of generosity—it is a divine law that unlocks supernatural blessings. God Himself is the greatest giver, having given His only Son, Jesus Christ, for the salvation of humanity (John 3:16).
In the Kingdom, giving is not about loss but about investment. It operates on the principle of sowing and reaping, as seen in Genesis 8:22: "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest... shall not cease." When we give, we position ourselves for divine provision, breakthrough, and abundance.
This teaching will explore the power of Kingdom giving, its principles, and the rewards that come with it.
1. KINGDOM GIVING IS A DIVINE PRINCIPLE
Giving is not a human idea but a divine ordinance established by God.
a) Giving is a Command from God
God commands His people to give as part of their covenant relationship with Him (Malachi 3:10).
b) Giving Reflects God’s Nature
God is a generous giver, and we, as His children, must reflect His giving nature (John 3:16).
c) Giving Activates the Law of Sowing and Reaping
What we give determines what we receive in return (Galatians 6:7).
d) Giving is an Expression of Worship
Honouring God with our substance is an act of worship (Proverbs 3:9-10).
e) Biblical Example: Abraham’s Willingness to Give Isaac
Abraham was willing to give his only son, and God rewarded him abundantly (Genesis 22:16-18).
2. TYPES OF KINGDOM GIVING
There are different ways to give in the Kingdom of God.
a) Tithes – A Covenant Obligation
Tithing is giving 10% of one’s income to God, and it secures divine provision (Malachi 3:10).
b) Offerings – A Freewill Gift to God
Offerings express our love and gratitude to God (2 Corinthians 9:7).
c) Firstfruits – Honouring God with the Best
Giving the first and best of our increase brings divine overflow (Proverbs 3:9-10).
d) Giving to the Needy – A Seed of Mercy
Helping the poor attracts God’s blessings (Proverbs 19:17).
e) Biblical Example: The Widow of Zarephath’s Offering
She gave her last meal to Elijah and experienced supernatural provision (1 Kings 17:12-16).
3. THE BLESSINGS OF KINGDOM GIVING
Kingdom giving brings supernatural rewards.
a) It Opens the Windows of Heaven
God promises abundance to those who give faithfully (Malachi 3:10).
b) It Attracts Divine Multiplication
What we give comes back to us in greater measure (Luke 6:38).
c) It Brings Financial Breakthroughs
Kingdom givers experience supernatural financial supply (Philippians 4:19).
d) It Provokes Divine Protection
Giving ensures God’s protection over our resources and well-being (Psalm 41:1-3).
e) Biblical Example: Solomon’s Extravagant Giving
Solomon gave a thousand burnt offerings, and God blessed him with unmatched wisdom and riches (2 Chronicles 1:6-12).
4. HINDRANCES TO KINGDOM GIVING
Certain attitudes and mindsets can block the blessings of giving.
a) Fear of Lack
Many hold back from giving due to fear of scarcity, but God is our provider (Matthew 6:31-33).
b) Selfishness and Greed
A self-centered mindset hinders generosity and kingdom prosperity (Luke 12:15).
c) Giving with a Wrong Motive
Giving should be done cheerfully and not out of pressure or manipulation (2 Corinthians 9:7).
d) Disobedience to God’s Giving Principles
Ignoring tithes, offerings, and helping the needy can close doors of blessing (Haggai 1:5-7).
e) Biblical Example: The Rich Fool’s Hoarding
He stored up wealth for himself but lost everything because he lacked a kingdom mindset (Luke 12:16-21).
5. WALKING IN THE POWER OF KINGDOM GIVING
To experience the full benefits of giving, we must cultivate a lifestyle of generosity.
a) Give in Faith and Expect a Harvest
Sowing in faith activates God’s supernatural provision (2 Corinthians 9:6).
b) Be Consistent in Your Giving
Regular giving establishes a cycle of blessings (Ecclesiastes 11:1).
c) Give with Joy and a Willing Heart
God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
d) Trust God as Your Source
Look to God, not man, as your provider (Philippians 4:19).
e) Biblical Example: The Macedonian Church’s Sacrificial Giving
Despite their poverty, they gave generously, and God blessed them (2 Corinthians 8:1-5).
CONCLUSION
Kingdom giving is a powerful principle that releases divine blessings. It is not just about money but about the heart. When we give according to God's Word, we experience supernatural provision, multiplication, and protection. Giving is not a loss but an investment in God’s Kingdom that yields eternal and earthly rewards.
As we walk in obedience and generosity, may the Lord bless and increase us beyond measure. Let us give with faith, love, and expectation, knowing that God is faithful to His promises.
