YOUR ENEMIES WISHES WILL NOT HAPPEN

YOUR ENEMIES’ EVIL WISHES WILL NOT HAPPEN

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 28:3-6
"And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god."

Supporting Texts: Isaiah 54:17, Psalm 91:13, Job 5:12, Numbers 23:23, Psalm 118:17

INTRODUCTION
Many times, people expect evil to befall us. Some secretly hope for our downfall, just as the people of Malta expected Paul to swell up and die after a viper fastened itself onto his hand. However, their evil expectations failed! In the same way, no matter what the enemy wishes for you, their evil plans will not stand. This message will encourage you to trust in God’s power to nullify every evil expectation against your life.

1. EVIL EXPECTATIONS WILL FAIL
The enemy may plot against you, but their schemes will not succeed.

a) The Enemy Always Watches for Your Downfall
The people of Malta assumed Paul was cursed and waited for him to die (Acts 28:4).

b) God’s Power Nullifies Every Evil Prediction
What the enemy expects will not happen when God is with you (Isaiah 54:17).

c) The Devil Cannot Override God’s Purpose
If God has ordained your survival, no attack can end your life prematurely.

d) Evil Plans May Form, but They Cannot Prosper
People may gather against you, but they will scatter (Psalm 91:13).

e) Biblical Example:
Haman planned for Mordecai’s destruction, but he died instead (Esther 7:9-10).

2. GOD WILL TURN EVIL INTENTIONS INTO GOOD
What was meant for evil, God can turn around for good.

a) God Uses Attacks to Glorify His Name
Paul’s survival made people see the power of God (Acts 28:6).

b) Opposition Often Leads to Divine Promotion
Instead of falling, Paul became more respected and revered.

c) When People Count You Out, God Counts You In
No one can remove you from God’s plan (Romans 8:31).

d) Your Testimony Will Silence Your Opponents
When Paul did not die, their minds changed, proving God’s power.

e) Biblical Example:
Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, but God used it for his promotion (Genesis 50:20).

3. YOUR FAITH WILL DISAPPOINT THE ENEMY
Faith in God makes the devil’s expectations fail.

a) The Just Shall Live by Faith
Paul did not panic; he simply shook the snake off into the fire (Habakkuk 2:4).

b) Fear Strengthens the Enemy, but Faith Paralyzes Him
The enemy wanted Paul to fear, but faith neutralized the attack.

c) Your Confidence in God Confuses Your Opponents
When you remain unshaken, those who expect your downfall are frustrated.

d) No Poison Can Kill a Man on Divine Assignment
The venom did not affect Paul because God’s hand was upon him (Mark 16:18).

e) Biblical Example:
Daniel’s faith kept him safe in the lions' den despite the evil intentions of his enemies (Daniel 6:22).

4. GOD WILL REVEAL YOUR TRUE IDENTITY THROUGH YOUR TRIALS
Sometimes, what was meant to disgrace you will announce you.

a) The People Who Misjudged You Will Celebrate You
At first, they thought Paul was a murderer, but later, they called him a god (Acts 28:6).

b) Every Battle You Overcome Will Elevate You
The storm that was meant to drown Paul led him to new territories.

c) God Uses Challenges to Prove His Power
If Paul had not been bitten, the people would not have witnessed God’s protection.

d) People’s Opinions Will Change When They See God’s Hand on You
No matter their first impression, they will acknowledge God’s grace on your life.

e) Biblical Example:
The three Hebrew boys were thrown into the fire, but instead of being burnt, they were promoted (Daniel 3:30).

5. YOU WILL END WELL DESPITE YOUR ENEMIES’ PLANS
The enemy can plan, but God has the final say.

a) The Same People Who Expected Paul to Die Witnessed His Greatness
God will ensure your enemies see your victory.

b) Your End Will Be Better Than Your Beginning
Paul was shipwrecked but ended up being honoured (Acts 28:10).

c) The Fire That Was Meant to Destroy You Will Refine You
Paul’s experience on the island increased his influence and mission.

d) God Will Not Allow the Wicked to Triumph Over You
What the enemy planned for evil will turn around for your good (Job 5:12).

e) Biblical Example:
Job lost everything, but God restored him double (Job 42:10).

CONCLUSION
No matter how much your enemies expect your downfall, their evil wishes will not happen. Like Paul, God will protect you from every attack. No poison, no conspiracy, and no evil expectation will manifest in your life. Instead of falling, you will rise, and your testimony will change the minds of those who doubted you. Keep your faith in God, for He will turn every evil plot into a stepping stone for your glory!
