NOVEMBER: MY MONTH OF TURNAROUND TESTIMONIES

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Psalm 126:1-3

Key Verse:The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” (Psalm 126:3)

Supporting Texts: Isaiah 43:18-19; Job 42:10; Luke 1:37; Romans 8:28

Description:
When God steps into a situation, sorrow turns to joy, shame becomes honour, and long-awaited testimonies begin to manifest.

INTRODUCTION:
Every believer reaches a season when heaven decides to rewrite their story. A turnaround testimony is a divine reversal of negative circumstances; a moment when God changes everything for His glory. Throughout Scripture, God has proven Himself as the Master of turnarounds, turning hopeless situations into glorious testimonies.

In life, we all face moments that test our faith: delays, disappointments, betrayals, and even closed doors. Yet, God specialises in using such moments as raw materials for miracles. What seems like a dead end becomes a new beginning when divine intervention comes into play.

This month of November, the Lord declares it is your season of turnaround testimonies. The same God who turned the captivity of Zion will turn your captivity. Your mourning shall be turned into dancing, and your tears into laughter. Get ready to see divine surprises, because your story is about to change forever!

1. GOD SPECIALISES IN TURNING CAPTIVITY AROUND
When God decides to act, the impossible becomes possible, and long-standing problems are dissolved in an instant.

a) God’s power restores what was lost (Joel 2:25)
God is not only able to recover what was stolen but to multiply it beyond measure.

b) Divine intervention changes destiny (2 Kings 7:1-9)
Within 24 hours, Samaria moved from famine to abundance because of divine intervention.

c) God’s word guarantees restoration (Jeremiah 30:17)
Every divine promise carries the power to restore and heal your destiny.

d) No captivity is permanent (Psalm 126:1)
When God turned the captivity of Zion, their sorrowful songs became joyful shouts.

Biblical Example: Job experienced a total turnaround when God restored his fortunes and gave him double for his losses (Job 42:10).

2. DIVINE TURNAROUND BEGINS WITH DIVINE ENCOUNTER
A single encounter with God can change the trajectory of an entire life.

a) Encounter releases divine direction (Genesis 12:1-4)
Abraham’s destiny turned around when God called him out of his father’s house.

b) God’s presence breaks limitations (Exodus 3:2-10)
Moses’ encounter at the burning bush transformed him from a fugitive into a deliverer.

c) Encounter renews faith and courage (Isaiah 6:1-8)
Isaiah’s vision of the Lord repositioned him for divine assignment.

d) When heaven meets with a man, earth must respond (Luke 5:4-6)
Peter’s night of failure turned into a morning of abundant catch after encountering Jesus.

Biblical Example: Saul’s encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus changed him from a persecutor into a preacher (Acts 9:1-6).

3. PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING UNLOCK TURNAROUND TESTIMONIES
Your praise is the key that unlocks divine intervention and provokes sudden miracles.

a) Thanksgiving magnifies God above your challenges (Psalm 34:1–3)
When you focus on God’s greatness, your problems lose their grip.

b) Praise brings divine presence (Psalm 22:3)
Where God dwells, change happens: chains break, doors open, and burdens lift.

c) Gratitude multiplies miracles (John 6:11-13)
Jesus gave thanks and five loaves became more than enough to feed thousands.

d) Your joy is a weapon of victory (Habakkuk 3:17-19)
Even in the midst of lack, rejoicing in the Lord triggers supernatural turnaround.

Biblical Example: Paul and Silas sang praises in prison, and God shook the foundations, turning bondage into breakthrough (Acts 16:25-26).

4. FAITH AND PERSISTENCE BRING SUPERNATURAL CHANGE
God responds to unwavering faith and persistent expectation.

a) Faith connects you to divine promises (Hebrews 11:6)
Without faith, no one can access the realm of divine turnaround.

b) Persistence provokes divine attention (Luke 18:1-8)
The persistent widow received justice because she refused to give up.

c) Confession of faith sustains expectation (Mark 11:23)
Keep declaring what God has said, even when your eyes see the opposite.

d) Delay is not denial (Habakkuk 2:3)
God’s timing is perfect; He comes through when it will bring the greatest glory.

Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood persisted in faith and received her turnaround the moment she touched Jesus (Mark 5:25-34).

CONCLUSION:
Every testimony begins with faith in God’s power to change situations. No matter how dark your night has been, the dawn of your miracle is here. The same God who turned the story of Joseph, Ruth, and Job will turn yours around for glory.

This month of November, expect divine reversals, sudden breakthroughs, and joyful surprises. Hold on to God’s promises, walk in faith, and keep praising Him, because your turnaround testimony has already begun!

NOVEMBER: MY MONTH OF BREAKTHROUGH AT THE EDGE

NOVEMBER: MY MONTH OF BREAKTHROUGH AT THE EDGE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: 2 Kings 7:1-10

Key Verse: “Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.” (2 Kings 7:1)

Supporting Texts: Exodus 14:1316; Joshua 6:1-5; Luke 5:4-6; Psalm 126:1-3; Isaiah 43:18-19

Description:
The God who brings breakthroughs specialises in stepping in when man is at the edge of despair. He never abandons His people at the point of crisis but manifests His power to turn impossibilities into testimonies.

INTRODUCTION:
A breakthrough at the edge means a sudden divine intervention that happens when you are just about to give up. It is that moment when God tears the veil of delay, breaks the wall of limitation, and causes you to cross into your long-awaited miracle. Many believers often experience battles that intensify just before their promotion, but that is because the enemy fights hardest at the edge of destiny.

In 2 Kings 7, Israel was under a severe siege. Hunger ravaged the land, and hopelessness filled every heart. Yet, at the edge of total collapse, the word of the Lord came through Elisha declaring that abundance would return within twenty-four hours. God proved again that He is not limited by circumstances, economy, or human reasoning.

This month of November, God is declaring that you will not die at the edge of your miracle. You may have been delayed, resisted, or frustrated, but the Lord who turned famine into plenty will give you a breakthrough at the edge. What looked impossible will turn around suddenly to your advantage.

1. GOD’S WORD BREAKS THE SIEGE OF DELAY
Every breakthrough begins with a word from God. When His word is released, it pierces the darkness of delay and commands progress.

a) God’s Word Carries Creative Power (Genesis 1:3)
From creation, we see that whenever God speaks, things come into existence. One divine utterance can end years of stagnation.

b) The Word of the Lord Brings Hope to Hopeless Situations (Ezekiel 37:4-6)
Even dry bones can live again when God’s word is declared over them.

c) God’s Word Cannot Return Empty (Isaiah 55:11)
Every divine promise must accomplish its purpose and prosper in what it is sent to do.

d) The Word of God Produces Faith for Breakthrough (Romans 10:17)
As you hear and believe God’s word, faith rises to birth your miracle.

Biblical Example: The widow of Zarephath obeyed the word of the prophet Elijah and experienced supernatural provision in a time of famine (1 Kings 17:13-16).

2. GOD USES UNLIKELY PEOPLE AND UNEXPECTED MEANS
Breakthroughs often come through people or situations that seem insignificant or impossible. God delights in using the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.

a) God Chooses the Weak to Display His Strength (1 Corinthians 1:27-29)
He often raises the despised to show that the power belongs to Him alone.

b) Divine Favour Locates the Unqualified (Esther 2:17)
Esther, a common orphan, became a queen because of divine favour.

c) God’s Methods May Seem Strange but Always Succeed (2 Kings 5:10-14)
Naaman’s healing came through an unusual instruction that required obedience and humility.

d) God Turns Messengers of Despair into Agents of Deliverance (2 Kings 7:3-8)
The four lepers who were outcasts became carriers of good news that ended the famine in Samaria.

Biblical Example: The boy with five loaves and two fishes: though insignificant, God used his little to feed thousands (John 6:9-13).

3. GOD BREAKS LIMITATIONS AT THE POINT OF OBEDIENCE
Obedience to divine instructions is the bridge between promise and performance. Many believers remain at the edge because they fail to act on God’s command.

a) Miracles Follow the Voice of Instruction (John 2:5-10)
The servants at the wedding in Cana obeyed without question, and their obedience produced wine.

b) Delayed Obedience Can Postpone Breakthrough (Jonah 1:3-17)
When Jonah ran from God’s call, he delayed his assignment and endangered others.

c) Obedience Opens the Door to Divine Favour (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
Those who diligently obey God’s voice experience blessings that pursue and overtake them.

d) Faith Without Action is Dead (James 2:17)
It is not enough to believe, we must act in line with our faith to see results.

Biblical Example: Peter experienced a net-breaking harvest when he obeyed Jesus’ instruction to launch out into the deep (Luke 5:4-6).

4. GOD SPECIALISES IN TURNING DESPAIR INTO DELIVERANCE
Just when it seems too late, God steps in and reverses the situation. He delights in showing mercy when human efforts have failed.

a) God Turns Captivity into Celebration (Psalm 126:1-3)
When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, their mouths were filled with laughter and their tongues with singing.

b) The End of Man is the Beginning of God (Exodus 14:13-16)
When Israel was trapped between Pharaoh and the Red Sea, God made a way where there was none.

c) God Turns Reproach into Revelation (John 9:1-7)
The blind man’s condition became a platform for the manifestation of God’s glory.

d) God Turns Midnights into Mornings (Acts 16:25-26)
Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises in prison, and God sent an earthquake that opened every door.

Biblical Example: Hannah, who was mocked and barren, became a joyful mother after divine intervention (1 Samuel 1:19-20).

CONCLUSION:
At the edge of every great breakthrough lies the temptation to quit. The devil intensifies battles when your miracle is near, but those who persist in faith always see God’s power manifest. The God who broke the siege of Samaria, who parted the Red Sea, and who raised Lazarus from the dead is still able to give you a breakthrough at the edge.

November is not a month to fear or doubt; it is your season of divine reversal. God will turn your tears to laughter, your delay to acceleration, and your struggles to testimonies. You will not die at the edge; you will cross over victoriously and sing songs of deliverance.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, thank You because You are the God of breakthroughs.
2. Every siege of delay and stagnation in my life, be broken by the word of the Lord.
3. Father, at every point of crisis, show me Your mighty hand of deliverance.
4. Lord, send me a word that will shatter every limitation in my life.
5. Holy Spirit, direct me to divine opportunities I have overlooked.
6. Every power that attacks me at the edge of breakthrough, be destroyed in Jesus’ name.
7. Lord, let my obedience unlock my next level of miracle.
8. O God of the eleventh hour, turn my despair into divine surprises.
9. Lord, before this month ends, let me experience undeniable progress.
10. Every force resisting my advancement, collapse by fire in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall not die at the edge of your breakthrough!
2. Every barrier standing before your next level shall crumble this month!
3. The word of the Lord shall lift you from limitation to elevation!
4. Those who mocked you shall see God’s glory in your life!
5. You shall receive divine direction that will unlock your testimony!
6. Your obedience will provoke supernatural open doors!
7. Every siege over your destiny is broken by the power of the Holy Ghost!
8. This November, your breakthrough shall manifest suddenly!
9. Where others failed, you shall succeed with ease!
10. Your story shall end in laughter and celebration, your edge has become your entrance!

NOVEMBER: MY MONTH OF ELEVENTH-HOUR MIRACLES

NOVEMBER: MY MONTH OF ELEVENTH-HOUR MIRACLES

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Matthew 20:6-9

Key Verse:And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?” (Matthew 20:6)

Supporting Texts: John 11:43-44; Ecclesiastes 9:11; Habakkuk 2:3; Isaiah 60:22; Romans 9:16

Description:
God specialises in last-minute interventions that change stories and restore years of delay in one divine moment.

INTRODUCTION:
The phrase “Eleventh-Hour Miracles” refers to God’s supernatural intervention when all hope seems lost and time appears to have run out. In Matthew 20, the workers who were called at the eleventh hour received the same reward as those who began early. This demonstrates that God’s timing is not limited by human deadlines — He can compress years of labour into one divine visitation.

Many people give up when it seems too late, but the God of the eleventh hour shows up to prove that delay is not denial. The same God who reversed the verdict of death over Lazarus, who opened Sarah’s womb in old age, and who brought Joseph from the prison to the palace in a single day, is still at work today.

November, being the eleventh month, prophetically symbolises the season of sudden breakthroughs, divine compensation, and restoration of lost opportunities. When God moves at the eleventh hour, the impossible becomes possible, and long-standing expectations are fulfilled with joy and glory.

1. GOD IS NEVER LATE IN HIS TIMING
God’s clock does not run on human schedules. What looks like a delay is often divine preparation for a greater manifestation.

a) God Works in His Appointed Time (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
Everything God does is beautiful in its time. The Lord never arrives too early or too late; His timing is always perfect for the manifestation of His glory.

b) Delay Does Not Mean Denial (Habakkuk 2:3)
The vision may tarry, but it will surely come. God’s promises may seem delayed, but they cannot fail.

c) God Waits for the Moment of Maximum Glory (John 11:4)
Jesus delayed coming to Lazarus so that the miracle would reveal the fullness of God’s power.

d) When God Steps In, He Redeems Lost Time (Joel 2:25)
He can restore wasted years and bring beauty out of ashes in one divine moment.

Biblical Example: Abraham and Sarah; after many years of waiting, they received Isaac at the set time God had promised (Genesis 21:1-3).

2. GOD REWARDS FAITHFULNESS EVEN AT THE LAST HOUR
Those who remain steadfast despite disappointments are never forgotten. The eleventh-hour miracle is God’s way of rewarding endurance.

a) Faithfulness Attracts Divine Reward (Matthew 20:9)
The labourers who came last still received full wages. God honours consistency and obedience, not just longevity.

b) God Remembers Those Overlooked by Men (1 Samuel 16:11-13)
David was forgotten by his family, but God brought him from the field to the throne.

c) Divine Favour Overrides Human Protocols (Psalm 75:6-7)
Promotion does not come from man, but from the Lord who lifts up one and sets down another.

d) Your Turn Will Surely Come (Psalm 102:13)
There is an appointed time for favour, and when your moment comes, no force can stop it.

Biblical Example: The thief on the cross received salvation at the eleventh hour (Luke 23:42-43).

3. GOD CAN TURN YEARS OF LABOUR INTO A MOMENT OF REWARD
One divine encounter with God can cancel years of delay and usher in an instant turnaround.

a) God Compresses Time to Favour His Own (Isaiah 60:22)
In His divine economy, “a little one shall become a thousand.” God can accelerate progress beyond natural reasoning.

b) Sudden Miracles Follow Divine Instruction (John 2:5-10)
At the wedding in Cana, when they obeyed Jesus, their shame turned into celebration in one moment.

c) God Restores What You Thought Was Lost (2 Kings 8:6)
The woman of Shunem got back her land and the full value of her harvest after years of absence.

d) When God Steps In, Struggling Ends (Luke 5:4-6)
Peter toiled all night without result, but at Jesus’ word, he caught a great multitude of fish.

Biblical Example: Joseph’s promotion from the prison to the palace (Genesis 41:14, 40-41): a divine turnaround that changed his destiny overnight.

4. POSITION YOURSELF FOR YOUR ELEVENTH-HOUR MIRACLE
Miracles are not accidental; they happen when we align ourselves with God’s will and timing.

a) Keep Believing Even When It Seems Too Late (Mark 9:23)
“All things are possible to him that believeth.” Faith keeps the door of miracles open.

b) Stay Faithful in the Place of Service (Galatians 6:9)
Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you shall reap if you faint not.

c) Keep Praying and Expecting (Luke 18:1-8)
Persistent prayer keeps you connected to divine timing. Never stop expecting God’s intervention.

d) Walk in Obedience and Readiness (Exodus 12:11)
The Israelites ate the Passover in readiness because deliverance could come suddenly.

Biblical Example: The lame man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9) waited for thirty-eight years, yet in one encounter, his story changed forever.

CONCLUSION:
The God of the eleventh hour is the God who specialises in last-minute miracles. He steps in when all human efforts have failed and reverses situations that seem irreversible. This month of November, expect divine surprises that will make you testify of His faithfulness.

Even if it looks late in the year, God is not done with you. He can still visit, lift, promote, heal, and restore you in ways that will shock the world. Do not give up, your eleventh-hour miracle is on the way!

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, thank You for being the God of perfect timing.
2. Father, visit me this month with my long-awaited miracle.
3. Every delayed blessing in my life, manifest now in Jesus’ name.
4. Lord, turn my years of labour into a moment of divine reward.
5. Let every obstacle standing between me and my breakthrough be removed.
6. Holy Spirit, guide me to the place of divine opportunity.
7. Lord, cause those who have forgotten me to remember me for good.
8. Every spirit of discouragement and delay, be destroyed in my life.
9. Father, make this month a season of joy and restoration for me.
10. O God of the eleventh hour, surprise me before this month ends.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall experience divine visitation in this eleventh month!
2. Every long-standing promise in your life shall come to fulfilment!
3. Your long wait shall end in a testimony of sudden joy!
4. Heaven shall remember your labour and reward you openly!
5. You shall not end this year in delay or disappointment!
6. Every closed door shall open to you by divine command!
7. You shall receive divine compensation for your lost years!
8. Before this month ends, your name shall be mentioned for favour!
9. You shall see the manifestation of God’s eleventh-hour power in your life!
10. Your miracle will arrive suddenly, and your testimony shall shake nations!

CHURCH UNITY THROUGH THE COUNCIL AT JERUSALEM

CHURCH UNITY THROUGH THE COUNCIL AT JERUSALEM

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 15:1-29

Key Verse:It seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us.” (Acts 15:28)

Supporting Texts: Ephesians 4:3; 1 Corinthians 1:10; Philippians 2:2; John 17:21

Description:
Doctrinal disputes should be resolved in the spirit of unity and truth through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

INTRODUCTION:
The early Church was not immune to challenges, especially those arising from doctrinal disagreements. In Acts 15, the question of whether Gentile converts should be circumcised or observe the Law of Moses threatened to divide the believers. However, instead of allowing strife to prevail, the apostles and elders gathered at Jerusalem to seek divine direction.

Their approach was guided by humility, open discussion, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. The result was a unified Church, strengthened in truth and love. This landmark event became a model for resolving conflicts in the body of Christ.

Today’s Church can learn from their example; that unity is not achieved through compromise of doctrine, but through submission to God’s Word and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. When believers seek truth in love and unity of purpose, the Church becomes stronger and more effective in its mission to the world.

1. THE ROOT OF THE CONTROVERSY
The Council at Jerusalem was convened because false teachings had entered the Church, bringing confusion and division. Understanding how it began helps us appreciate the wisdom with which the apostles handled the matter.

a) False Doctrines Cause Division (Acts 15:1)
Some Jewish believers insisted that circumcision was necessary for salvation. Their teaching caused unrest and confusion among Gentile converts, showing how easily wrong doctrine can divide God’s people.

b) Apostolic Confrontation of Error (Acts 15:2)
Paul and Barnabas boldly confronted these false teachers. Instead of ignoring the issue, they took it to Jerusalem for resolution, teaching us to confront falsehood with truth and humility.

c) The Church Must Defend the Gospel of Grace (Galatians 1:6-9)
Paul warned that any message that adds human requirements to grace perverts the gospel. Every generation of believers must stand firm in the purity of the message of Christ.

d) Disputes Can Strengthen Faith When Handled Wisely (Proverbs 27:17)
When disagreements are addressed in the fear of God, they can lead to deeper understanding and unity.

Biblical Example: Jesus confronting the Pharisees’ traditions (Matthew 15:1-9) showed that truth must be defended even when it causes tension.

2. THE WISDOM OF THE APOSTLES AND ELDERS
The leadership of the early Church responded to the dispute with maturity and spiritual discernment. They gathered to seek divine guidance and reason together in love.

a) Spiritual Leaders Must Provide Direction (Acts 15:6)
The apostles and elders gathered not to argue but to seek God’s counsel, proving that spiritual matters require spiritual leadership.

b) Peter Testified of God’s Grace to the Gentiles (Acts 15:7-11)
Peter reminded the council that God had already accepted the Gentiles by faith, pouring out the Holy Spirit upon them without the law.

c) Scripture Confirms the Spirit’s Work (Acts 15:15-18)
James quoted the prophet Amos, confirming from Scripture that God intended to include the Gentiles in His redemptive plan.

d) The Spirit Brings Consensus Among Believers (Acts 15:28)
Their conclusion was not based on human reasoning but on the witness of the Holy Ghost: “It seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us.”

Biblical Example: Moses consulting God through Jethro’s counsel (Exodus 18:13-26) shows that wise leadership listens and seeks divine direction.

3. THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN RESOLVING DISPUTES
Every true resolution in the Church must be guided by the Spirit of God, not by personal opinions or emotions. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, harmony, and divine order.

a) The Spirit Leads the Church into All Truth (John 16:13)
The Holy Spirit is the ultimate teacher who reveals God’s mind beyond human understanding.

b) The Spirit Promotes Peace and Unity (Ephesians 4:3)
When believers walk in the Spirit, peace and harmony are the natural outcome, even in the midst of conflict.

c) The Spirit Confirms God’s Will Through Agreement (Acts 15:28)
The phrase “It seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us” reveals a divine-human partnership in decision-making guided by the Spirit.

d) The Spirit Unites Diverse Believers for a Common Purpose (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
In the body of Christ, diversity becomes strength when the Spirit rules in love and truth.

Biblical Example: The Holy Spirit directing Philip to the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:29) demonstrates divine coordination in decision and mission.

4. THE OUTCOME OF THE COUNCIL’S DECISION
The wise and Spirit-led decision of the apostles brought healing, peace, and renewed purpose to the Church. Unity was restored and the mission of the gospel advanced.

a) The Church Maintained Unity and Encouragement (Acts 15:30-31)
The letter from Jerusalem brought great joy and comfort to the Gentile believers, ending confusion and conflict.

b) Doctrinal Clarity Strengthened Evangelism (Acts 15:35)
With the matter resolved, the apostles continued preaching boldly, and the Church’s witness became stronger.

c) Unity Preserved the Church’s Testimony (John 17:21)
Jesus prayed for unity because it validates the Church’s message before the world. Division weakens our testimony, but unity glorifies God.

d) Mutual Respect Was Restored Among Believers (Romans 14:19)
The Church learned to pursue peace and mutual edification instead of insisting on personal opinions.

Biblical Example: Nehemiah uniting the people to rebuild the wall (Nehemiah 4:6) illustrates the power of collective unity and cooperation.

CONCLUSION:
The Council at Jerusalem teaches that genuine unity is achieved when God’s people humble themselves, submit to His Word, and depend on the Holy Spirit. When truth and love work together, confusion gives way to clarity, and division turns into harmony.

As believers, we must always seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in resolving conflicts. True unity does not mean agreement at all costs; it means standing on God’s truth together with hearts filled with grace and peace.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, grant me the humility to seek peace and unity in every situation.
2. Holy Spirit, lead the Church into all truth.
3. Let every false doctrine in the body of Christ be exposed and destroyed.
4. Father, give our leaders divine wisdom to handle disputes.
5. Lord, help me to defend the gospel of grace with courage and love.
6. Silence every voice of confusion and division in the Church.
7. Strengthen the bond of peace among believers in my assembly.
8. Let the voice of the Holy Spirit prevail in every Church council.
9. Father, make me an instrument of reconciliation and unity.
10. Let Your truth and grace reign in the global body of Christ.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall be a vessel of truth, peace, and unity in the body of Christ!
2. The wisdom of God shall guide your words and decisions!
3. Every spirit of confusion around you is silenced by the Holy Ghost!
4. You will not be deceived by false doctrines or divisive teachings!
5. The peace of God will reign in your home, Church, and ministry!
6. You shall bring healing and reconciliation wherever you go!
7. Divine understanding shall flow through you in times of conflict!
8. You will operate under the influence and leading of the Holy Spirit!
9. Your voice shall bring clarity and calm in moments of disagreement!
10. The Church of Christ in your generation shall grow stronger in unity and truth!

PERSEVERANCE IN THE FACE OF PERSECUTION

PERSEVERANCE IN THE FACE OF PERSECUTION

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 14:19-22

Key Verse:We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22)

Supporting Texts: Matthew 5:10-12; 2 Timothy 3:12; John 16:33; Romans 8:35-39; James 1:12

Description: The Christian life involves trials, but steadfast endurance through persecution leads to spiritual maturity and eternal reward.

INTRODUCTION:
The path of a true disciple of Christ is not without challenges. From the beginning of the church, believers have faced persecution, opposition, and hardship because of their faith in Jesus Christ. The early apostles endured rejection, imprisonment, and even death, yet they never turned back.

In Acts 14:19-22, Paul and Barnabas faced violent persecution in Lystra, where Paul was stoned and left for dead. However, instead of quitting, he rose again and continued preaching the gospel. This act of perseverance demonstrates the unshakable faith and determination required of every believer who desires to follow Christ faithfully.

Persecution is not a sign of divine rejection but a mark of discipleship. It proves our commitment to God and produces endurance, character, and hope. Every believer must learn to endure trials, knowing that tribulations are part of the journey into God’s glorious kingdom.

1. PERSECUTION IS PART OF THE CHRISTIAN CALLING
Persecution is not strange to believers; it is a natural consequence of living righteously in a fallen world.

a) Persecution comes because of righteousness (Matthew 5:10)
Jesus taught that those who suffer for righteousness’ sake are blessed, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

b) The world hates those who belong to Christ (John 15:18-19)
Believers face opposition because their lives expose the darkness of sin.

c) Suffering for Christ strengthens faith (1 Peter 4:12-13)
Trials should not surprise us but rather be seen as opportunities to share in Christ’s sufferings.

d) God uses persecution to purify His church (Malachi 3:3)
The fire of affliction refines believers, producing spiritual maturity and dependence on God.

Biblical Example: Daniel remained steadfast in his faith despite the threat of the lions’ den, and God delivered him (Daniel 6:10-22).

2. PERSEVERANCE PROVES TRUE DISCIPLESHIP
Genuine disciples of Christ do not abandon their faith in the face of trials.

a) Perseverance shows loyalty to Christ (Luke 9:62)
Anyone who looks back after committing to God’s service is unfit for the kingdom.

b) Endurance separates true believers from false ones (Matthew 13:20-21)
Some receive the word with joy but fall away when tribulation arises.

c) Persevering faith pleases God (Hebrews 10:38-39)
The just shall live by faith, and those who endure will obtain God’s promises.

d) Strength comes through endurance (James 1:2-4)
Trials produce patience and perfection, equipping believers for greater victories.

Biblical Example: Job remained faithful in extreme suffering and was later restored by God with double blessings (Job 42:10-12).

3. GOD’S PRESENCE SUSTAINS BELIEVERS IN TRIALS
No believer endures persecution alone; God’s presence provides strength and comfort.

a) God never abandons His faithful ones (Isaiah 43:2)
Even in the fire and flood, His presence preserves and protects.

b) The Holy Spirit empowers believers to endure (Acts 1:8)
The Spirit gives strength, boldness, and wisdom to overcome persecution.

c) God’s grace is sufficient in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Paul found divine strength in moments of great trial and suffering.

d) God turns persecution into a testimony (Romans 8:28)
What the enemy intends for harm, God uses for His glory and our growth.

Biblical Example: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego experienced divine presence in the fiery furnace, and their trial became a testimony of God’s power (Daniel 3:24-30).

4. PERSEVERANCE LEADS TO ETERNAL REWARD
The trials of this life cannot be compared to the glory awaiting those who endure to the end.

a) Endurance leads to divine promotion (James 1:12)
Those who remain steadfast under trial will receive the crown of life.

b) Temporary afflictions produce eternal glory (2 Corinthians 4:17)
The pain of persecution works out a far greater and lasting reward.

c) Heaven awaits those who overcome (Revelation 2:10)
Faithful endurance unto death guarantees the crown of eternal life.

d) Perseverance inspires others to remain steadfast (Philippians 1:14)
The courage of the persecuted strengthens the faith of others in the body of Christ.

Biblical Example: Stephen endured persecution to the point of death and was welcomed by Christ into eternal glory (Acts 7:55-60).

CONCLUSION:
Every believer must understand that persecution is not meant to destroy but to strengthen faith. The Christian journey is marked by trials, yet through perseverance, the believer matures spiritually and becomes more like Christ.

As we endure opposition and challenges for the sake of the gospel, let us keep our eyes on the eternal reward. God’s grace is sufficient to sustain us through every storm, and those who remain faithful to the end will share in His glory and victory.

1. Lord, strengthen me to stand firm in the face of persecution.
2. Father, give me unwavering faith in times of trial.

8. Let Your divine presence sustain me through every challenge.
9. Father, grant me the grace to finish my Christian race well.
10. Lord, reward my perseverance with eternal joy and victory.

10. You shall finish strong and enter triumphantly into God’s kingdom!

POWER OVER DEMONIC OPPOSITION

POWER OVER DEMONIC OPPOSITION

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 13:6-12

Key Verse:Thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season.” (Acts 13:11)

Supporting Texts: Luke 10:19; Mark 16:17-18; 1 John 4:4; Ephesians 6:12; Philippians 2:9-10

Description: The power of the Holy Spirit enables believers to silence and subdue every form of demonic resistance.

INTRODUCTION:
In every move of God, there is always demonic resistance. The devil constantly tries to oppose the spread of the gospel and the advancement of God’s kingdom. Yet, the authority of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life is greater than any satanic opposition.

Paul’s encounter with Elymas the sorcerer in Acts 13 demonstrates the superiority of divine power over the forces of darkness. Elymas sought to hinder the salvation of the proconsul, but Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, declared God’s judgement, and the sorcerer was struck blind. This was not an act of cruelty but a display of divine justice.

The lesson is clear: Spirit-filled believers are not powerless before the enemy. When the forces of darkness rise, we must stand firm in the authority of Christ and demonstrate the victory already given to us.

1. DEMONIC FORCES OPPOSE THE GOSPEL
The devil always raises opposition against the preaching of Christ.

a) Satan uses human agents (Acts 13:8). Elymas represents those whom Satan uses to resist the truth and hinder the salvation of souls.

b) The goal of the enemy is deception (2 Corinthians 4:4) The devil blinds people’s minds so they cannot see the light of the gospel.

c) Demonic influence thrives in ignorance (Hosea 4:6) Many fall under satanic manipulation because they lack spiritual understanding.

d) Believers must discern and confront spiritual opposition (Ephesians 6:12) Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.

Biblical Example: Pharaoh’s magicians opposed Moses by imitating God’s signs but were ultimately defeated (Exodus 7:10-12).

2. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS BELIEVERS FOR VICTORY
Without the Holy Spirit, no believer can overcome demonic power.

a) The Holy Spirit gives discernment (Acts 13:9-10) Paul recognised Elymas’s true nature and addressed the evil spirit operating through him.

b) Divine authority comes through spiritual empowerment (Luke 10:19). Jesus has given us power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.

c) The Holy Spirit releases boldness to confront evil (Acts 4:31). When filled with the Spirit, believers can face opposition fearlessly.

d) Power is demonstrated when we act in obedience (Acts 13:11). Paul spoke as led by the Spirit, and the power of God manifested instantly.

Biblical Example: David, filled with faith and courage, faced Goliath in God’s power and prevailed (1 Samuel 17:45-50).

3. DIVINE JUDGEMENT SILENCES DEMONIC POWERS
God will not allow His work to be hindered without consequence.

a) Paul pronounced judgement under divine inspiration (Acts 13:11). The blindness of Elymas symbolised the spiritual blindness of all who oppose God’s truth.

b) Judgement reveals God’s supremacy over darkness (Psalm 9:16). When God acts, His righteousness is displayed before all men.

c) The punishment of evil brings fear and reverence (Acts 5:11). God’s interventions cause people to respect His power and authority.

d) The enemy’s downfall confirms God’s presence (Isaiah 41:10-11). Those who rise against God’s servants will fall in shame.

Biblical Example: King Herod was struck by an angel for exalting himself against God’s glory (Acts 12:21-23).

4. DIVINE POWER BRINGS CONVERSION AND GLORY TO GOD
The ultimate purpose of divine power is the salvation of souls and the glory of God.

a) The proconsul believed after witnessing God’s power (Acts 13:12). Miraculous signs confirm the truth of the gospel and lead people to faith.

b) Power encounters break the hold of darkness (Mark 16:20).As God confirms His word with signs, the kingdom of Satan loses ground.

c) The gospel advances where the Holy Spirit moves (Acts 9:31). When the Spirit is active, growth and revival follow.

d) Every manifestation of God’s power glorifies Jesus (Philippians 2:9-10). The name of Jesus is exalted above all names, and every knee must bow.

Biblical Example: The deliverance of Paul and Silas in prison led to the salvation of the jailer and his household (Acts 16:25-34).

CONCLUSION:
The encounter between Paul and Elymas reveals that demonic opposition is real, but it cannot withstand the power of the Holy Spirit. Every believer has been given authority through Jesus Christ to overcome and silence the works of darkness.

We are not to run from demonic confrontation but to stand boldly, filled with the Spirit, and proclaim the victory of Christ. When God’s power is displayed, souls are saved, and His name is glorified.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, fill me afresh with Your Spirit and power.
2. Father, give me spiritual discernment to identify demonic resistance.
3. Every power opposing my destiny, be silenced in Jesus’ name.
4. Lord, empower me to stand boldly against all evil forces.
5. Every Elymas in my path, be rendered powerless by the Holy Ghost.
6. Father, let Your judgement fall upon every force hindering the gospel.
7. Lord, confirm Your Word in my life with signs and wonders.
8. Holy Spirit, use me to bring souls out of darkness into light.
9. Every satanic voice speaking against my progress, be silenced forever.
10. Lord, let Your power be evident in my life and ministry.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall walk in divine power and authority!
2. Every demonic force standing against you shall bow!
3. You are rising above every form of satanic opposition!
4. The Holy Spirit shall fill you with boldness and victory!
5. Every Elymas in your life shall be struck down by divine power!
6. You shall operate in the authority of Christ with great results!
7. No weapon formed against your destiny shall prosper!
8. The Lord will use you to demonstrate His power to your generation!
9. The gospel in your mouth shall produce signs, wonders, and conversions!
10. You shall overcome every opposition and glorify God with your testimony!

THE POWER OF PRAYER AND DELIVERANCE

THE POWER OF PRAYER AND DELIVERANCE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 12:1-11

Key Verse:But prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” — Acts 12:5

Supporting Texts: James 5:16; Psalm 34:17; Isaiah 65:24; Matthew 7:7; Philippians 4:6-7

Description: Persistent prayer can break any prison door and release divine intervention in impossible situations.

INTRODUCTION:
Prayer is the spiritual lifeline of every believer and the power that connects the natural to the supernatural. Through prayer, God’s presence, power, and purpose are released upon the earth. In Acts 12, when Peter was arrested by Herod and placed in prison under heavy guard, the church responded not with fear but with fervent, unceasing prayer. Their united cry reached heaven, and God sent an angel to deliver Peter miraculously.

This account reveals that prayer is not just a religious exercise but a divine weapon that enforces God’s will and frustrates the plans of darkness. When the people of God pray, strongholds are broken, prison doors open, and the impossible becomes possible.

In this study, we will see how prayer brings deliverance, how God sends supernatural help in response to prayer, and how timely divine intervention transforms sorrow into joy. The story of Peter’s release reminds every believer that no situation is too hard for God when His people pray without ceasing.

1. UNITED PRAYER BRINGS SUPERNATURAL RESULTS
When believers come together in one accord to pray, they create an atmosphere for the supernatural. United prayer releases collective faith and invites God’s power to manifest. The early church understood this secret and refused to remain silent in the face of danger.

a) The Power of Agreement (Matthew 18:19–20): When believers agree in prayer, heaven responds with divine authority. The presence of Jesus among united believers guarantees answered prayer.

b) Collective Intercession Moves God (Acts 12:5): The early church stood in prayer for Peter, and their united cry brought angelic intervention. No true intercession is ever in vain.

c) Unity in Prayer Frustrates the Enemy (2 Chronicles 20:4-24): When Judah united in prayer, God fought their battles and gave them victory without war.

d) God Commands His Blessing Where Unity Exists (Psalm 133:1-3): Unity among believers attracts divine favour and supernatural visitation.

Biblical Example: On the day of Pentecost, the disciples prayed in one accord, and the Holy Spirit descended in great power (Acts 2:1-4).

2. ANGELIC INTERVENTION IN RESPONSE TO PRAYER
Prayer moves the hand of God, and in response, He often dispatches His angels to bring deliverance, direction, and protection. Angels are ministering spirits sent forth to serve those who belong to God.

a) Angels as God’s Agents of Deliverance (Psalm 34:7): The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and rescues them in times of danger.

b) Peter’s Chains Fell Off (Acts 12:7): The angel appeared suddenly, light shone in the prison, and Peter’s chains were broken without human effort.

c) Angels Respond to God’s Word (Psalm 103:20): When believers pray according to God’s Word, angels are activated to carry out divine instructions.

d) No Power Can Resist Divine Intervention (Isaiah 43:13): When God arises to deliver, no human authority or demonic gate can withstand His power.

Biblical Example: Daniel experienced angelic deliverance when God shut the mouths of the lions in the den (Daniel 6:22).

3. EFFECTUAL AND FERVENT PRAYER RELEASES DIVINE POWER

True prayer must be passionate, persistent, and faith-driven. God responds to earnest prayers that come from a heart of faith. Fervent prayer is not casual talk; it is spiritual warfare that unlocks heaven’s resources.

a) Fervent Prayer Produces Divine Results (James 5:16): The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available and brings visible change.

b) Prayer Transforms Circumstances (Philippians 4:6-7): Prayer replaces anxiety with peace and aligns the believer’s heart with God’s will.

c) Persistence Demonstrates Faith (Luke 18:1-8): Jesus taught that men ought always to pray and not to faint, for persistence brings victory.

d) Prayer Opens Impossible Doors (Revelation 3:8): When prayer is lifted in faith, God opens doors that no man can shut and makes a way where there is none.

Biblical Example: Elijah prayed earnestly for rain after years of drought, and God sent abundant showers (James 5:17-18).

4. GOD’S DELIVERANCE COMES AT THE RIGHT TIME
God never arrives too early or too late; His timing is always perfect. Peter was delivered at the moment when human help was impossible, proving that divine timing brings maximum glory to God.

a) God’s Timing Is Perfect (Habakkuk 2:3): The vision may tarry, but when the appointed time comes, it will surely manifest.

b) Peter’s Deliverance Came at Midnight (Acts 12:6): Just before his execution, the angel appeared. God’s intervention often comes at the darkest hour.

c) Delay Is Not Denial (Isaiah 60:22): Though the answer may seem delayed, when the time is right, God will make it happen quickly.

d) God Appears When Human Strength Fails (Exodus 14:13-14): When Israel was trapped between Pharaoh and the Red Sea, God stepped in and made a way.

Biblical Example: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were delivered from the fiery furnace at the moment of greatest danger (Daniel 3:25).

5. TESTIMONIES BRING JOY AND GLORY TO GOD
Every act of deliverance by God results in testimony that strengthens faith and glorifies His name. The miracle of Peter’s release turned sorrow into joy and revived the faith of the early church.

a) Deliverance Produces Joy (Psalm 126:1-3): When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, they were filled with laughter and praise.

b) Testimonies Strengthen Faith (Revelation 12:11): The word of testimony builds the faith of others and silences the devil.

c) The Church Rejoiced Greatly (Acts 12:14-16): Their mourning turned to dancing when Peter appeared at the door.

d) Testimonies Glorify God (Matthew 5:16): When people see what God has done, they glorify the Father in heaven.

Biblical Example: The man healed at the Beautiful Gate became a living testimony that drew multitudes to Christ (Acts 3:8-10).

CONCLUSION:
Prayer is the key that unlocks divine power and brings deliverance from every form of bondage. The church that prays cannot be overcome, for God honours the cries of His people. Just as Peter’s chains fell off, every limitation in your life can be broken when you pray in faith.

No matter how dark the prison or how strong the gate, the God who delivered Peter is still the same today. Keep praying, keep believing, and the angel of your deliverance will appear. Miracles still happen when the church prays without ceasing.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, fill me with the spirit of fervent and unceasing prayer.
2. Every prison door holding my destiny, open by fire in Jesus’ name.
3. O Lord, release Your angels to deliver me from every bondage.
4. Every Herod plotting my destruction, be overthrown by divine power.
5. Father, let every chain in my life break by Your power.
6. Let every delayed answer manifest speedily in the name of Jesus.
7. Lord, give the church strength to pray without ceasing.
8. Turn every captivity in my life into a testimony of joy.
9. Every satanic resistance to my progress, scatter by fire.
10. Lord, let my deliverance bring glory to Your holy name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall experience divine deliverance from every bondage!
2. Every prison door around your destiny shall open suddenly!
3. You shall not die in affliction; your angel of rescue is coming!
4. Every delay in your life is turning into divine acceleration!
5. The power of prayer will break every chain around your life!
6. You shall rejoice again where you once wept in sorrow!
7. Every Herod assigned against you shall fall by divine judgement!
8. Your testimony shall bring joy to many and glory to God!
9. You shall walk in unbroken freedom and divine favour!
10. Heaven will respond to your prayers speedily in Jesus’ name!

GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS

GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 10:34-35

Key Verse:Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.” (Acts 10:34)

Supporting Texts: Romans 2:11; Galatians 3:28; James 2:1-9; John 3:16; Revelation 7:9

Description: God’s love, salvation, and blessings are available to all people, regardless of race, status, or background.

INTRODUCTION:
When Peter entered the house of Cornelius, a Gentile, he witnessed something that changed his understanding of God’s character forever. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Gentiles revealed that the gospel is not limited to the Jews alone but is meant for every nation and tribe.

God does not discriminate or show partiality based on race, status, gender, or background. His love is impartial, and His grace is universal. Through Christ, all barriers are broken down, and everyone who believes can receive forgiveness, salvation, and the Holy Spirit.

The revelation that “God is no respecter of persons” reminds us that divine favour and acceptance are not earned by position or privilege but by faith and obedience. It calls the Church to love, include, and reach out to all people without prejudice.

1. GOD’S LOVE AND SALVATION ARE UNIVERSAL
God’s plan of redemption is inclusive; His mercy reaches every tribe, tongue, and people.

a) God’s love embraces all humanity (John 3:16): The gift of Jesus Christ is proof that God’s love extends to the entire world, not a select few.

b) Salvation is available to all who believe (Romans 10:12-13):
There is no difference between Jew and Gentile; whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

c) The gospel breaks cultural and racial barriers (Ephesians 2:14-16): Through Christ, all dividing walls are torn down, making all believers one body in Him.

d) Heaven welcomes all nations (Revelation 7:9): The redeemed from every tribe and language stand before God’s throne in worship.

Biblical Example: The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:7-29) experienced salvation despite social and racial prejudice, showing that God’s love transcends boundaries.

2. GOD’S ACCEPTANCE IS BASED ON FAITH AND RIGHTEOUSNESS, NOT STATUS
God does not accept people based on their wealth, position, or appearance but on the sincerity of their hearts.

a) God sees the heart, not outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7): Human judgment is shallow, but God’s acceptance depends on inner righteousness.

b) Faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6): Regardless of background, anyone who comes to God in faith receives His favour.

c) Obedience validates faith (Acts 10:35): Peter declared that in every nation, those who fear God and do righteousness are accepted by Him.

d) God’s grace overrides human traditions (Mark 7:8-9): God’s mercy is not confined to religious systems but flows where faith is genuine.

Biblical Example: Rahab the harlot (Joshua 2:1-11; Hebrews 11:31) was accepted by God and became part of Christ’s lineage because of her faith and obedience, not her background.

3. GOD REJECTS PARTIALITY AND PREJUDICE
Showing favouritism contradicts God’s nature and the spirit of the gospel.

a) Partiality is sin (James 2:1-9): To show respect of persons is to sin against God’s law of love.

b) God judges all without bias (Romans 2:11): His justice is perfect; everyone is accountable according to their deeds.

c) The Church must reflect divine impartiality (Galatians 3:28): In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female; all are one in Him.

d) The Holy Spirit unites believers beyond differences (1 Corinthians 12:13): All are baptized into one body by one Spirit, regardless of background or status.

Biblical Example: Jesus broke cultural prejudice by touching lepers (Mark 1:40-42) and dining with sinners, proving that God’s mercy is not restricted by social boundaries.

4. THE GOSPEL MUST BE PREACHED TO ALL PEOPLE WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION
The Church is called to carry the message of salvation to every corner of the earth, without bias or fear.

a) The Great Commission is for all nations (Matthew 28:19-20):
Jesus commanded His disciples to make disciples of all nations, showing God’s inclusive plan.

b) The Holy Spirit empowers global evangelism (Acts 1:8):
Believers are equipped to reach diverse groups, from their local communities to the ends of the earth.

c) The Church must overcome cultural barriers (Acts 10:28): Peter’s obedience to visit Cornelius broke long-standing Jewish taboos and opened the door for Gentile inclusion.

d) Revival comes when the Church embraces diversity (Acts 11:18-21): When believers welcomed the Gentiles, the Church expanded rapidly with great joy.

Biblical Example: Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:26-39) demonstrated that the gospel is for everyone who seeks truth, regardless of origin.

CONCLUSION:
The revelation that God is no respecter of persons must shape how we see others and how we minister the gospel. God’s grace is available to all who believe, without bias or restriction. True Christianity breaks cultural, racial, and social barriers, replacing them with love, faith, and unity in Christ.

Let every believer reflect the heart of God by walking in love, humility, and fairness. We are all equal before God, and His mercy extends to everyone who fears Him and does what is right.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, thank You for revealing that You are impartial and loving toward all.
2. Lord, cleanse my heart from every trace of prejudice and pride.
3. Help me to see others through Your eyes of love and grace.
4. O Lord, let the spirit of unity reign in the Church of Christ.
5. Empower me to reach out to all people with the gospel message.
6. Let Your love break every wall of division in families and communities.
7. Father, raise a generation that values righteousness above status.
8. Holy Spirit, guide the Church to embrace every nation and culture with Your truth.
9. Let my life reflect Your character of fairness and mercy.
10. Lord, use me as an instrument of reconciliation and peace.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall be a vessel of divine love to all people!
2. Every wall of prejudice and division around you is coming down!
3. You shall be used by God to bring unity where there is strife!
4. The favour of God shall locate you regardless of background or status!
5. Your family shall be a testimony of God’s inclusive grace!
6. You shall see open doors to reach nations for Christ!
7. God’s acceptance shall silence every rejection in your life!
8. The spirit of love and fairness shall govern your relationships!
9. You shall be known as a bridge-builder in the kingdom of God!
10. Wherever you go, God’s impartial favour shall speak for you!

THE MIRACLE AT LYDDA AND JOPPA

THE MIRACLE AT LYDDA AND JOPPA

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 9:32-43

Key Verse:And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.” (Acts 9:35)

Supporting Texts: Mark 16:17-18; James 5:15; John 11:25-26; Matthew 9:35; Psalm 103:2-3

Description: The power of God manifested through healing and miracles draws people to faith in Christ.

INTRODUCTION:
The passage in Acts 9:32-43 reveals two powerful miracles performed by the Apostle Peter: the healing of Aeneas at Lydda and the raising of Dorcas at Joppa. These miracles were not mere acts of compassion; they were demonstrations of the living power of Christ working through His servant.

Aeneas had been bedridden for eight long years, paralysed and hopeless. But a single word spoken in the name of Jesus restored his strength instantly. Likewise, Dorcas, a beloved woman known for her good works, died suddenly, and the grief of the believers drew Peter to Joppa. Through prayer and divine authority, Peter raised her from death, and the entire community rejoiced and believed in the Lord.

These events show that the ministry of healing is not just to relieve suffering but to bring glory to God and draw souls into His kingdom. The miracles at Lydda and Joppa remind us that Jesus still heals, restores, and revives through His faithful servants today.

1. DIVINE POWER FLOWS THROUGH A WILLING SERVANT
God works wonders through men and women who are surrendered to His will and filled with His Spirit.

a) Availability before ability (Acts 9:32): Peter was moving among the believers, ministering wherever he went. God uses those who make themselves available for His work.

b) Compassion for the afflicted (Acts 9:33): Aeneas had been sick for eight years, but Peter noticed his pain. Ministry effectiveness begins with genuine love for people.

c) The authority of Jesus’ name (Acts 9:34):  Peter declared, “Jesus Christ maketh thee whole.” It was not his power but Christ’s authority that healed Aeneas.

d) Immediate manifestation of God’s power (Acts 9:34b): The miracle was instant, Aeneas rose immediately. God’s power knows no delay when faith is active.

Biblical Example: The healing of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate (Acts 3:1-8) also came through Peter’s declaration in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

2. MIRACLES GLORIFY GOD AND ATTRACT SOULS TO CHRIST
Every true miracle has a divine purpose: to reveal God’s glory and lead people to repentance and faith.

a) Visible testimony of divine power (Acts 9:35):  When the people of Lydda and Sharon saw Aeneas healed, they turned to the Lord. Visible miracles produce visible conversions.

b) The miracle as a message (Mark 2:10-12): Jesus used miracles to confirm His authority to forgive sins. Likewise, every miracle points to the saving power of Christ.

c) Miracles draw the attention of unbelievers (John 11:45):  After Lazarus was raised, many believed in Jesus. God still uses signs to awaken hearts.

d) Revival through divine intervention (Acts 9:35):
The healing at Lydda sparked revival in surrounding towns. Genuine moves of God spread when His power is revealed.

Biblical Example: The healing of Naaman (2 Kings 5:1-15) led him to acknowledge the God of Israel as the only true God.

3. GOD HONOURS FAITH AND COMPASSION IN SERVICE
True ministry is driven by faith in God’s power and compassion for those in need.

a) Dorcas, a woman of good works (Acts 9:36): She was known for her charity and service to the needy. Her life reflected Christ’s love in action.

b) Grief of the saints (Acts 9:38-39):
The believers’ sorrow over her death revealed how deeply she touched lives. True service leaves an eternal impact.

c) Faith expressed through prayer (Acts 9:40):
Peter sent others out and prayed. Miracles begin in the secret place of prayer, not in public display.

d) Divine response to genuine faith (Acts 9:40-41):
Dorcas opened her eyes and sat up,  proof that faith-filled prayer moves the hand of God.

Biblical Example: Elijah raised the widow’s son through earnest prayer and faith (1 Kings 17:17-24).

4. THE POWER OF RESURRECTION STILL WORKS TODAY
The raising of Dorcas demonstrates that Jesus Christ still has power over death and impossible situations.

a) Jesus, the resurrection and the life (John 11:25-26): Christ has conquered death, and His power flows through His followers.

b) God specialises in hopeless cases (Ezekiel 37:3-5):The valley of dry bones came alive at His command. No situation is beyond His reach.

c) Miracles confirm the living presence of Christ (Mark 16:17–18): Signs and wonders accompany those who believe. The Church today must still expect and demonstrate divine power.

d) Revival and multiplication follow miracles (Acts 9:42): Many believed in the Lord because of Dorcas’ resurrection. Miracles lead to harvest when Christ is glorified.

Biblical Example: Jairus’ daughter was raised from the dead when Jesus declared, “Talitha cumi” (Mark 5:41-42).

CONCLUSION:
The miracles at Lydda and Joppa teach us that the power of Jesus is not limited by time or distance. Healing, restoration, and even resurrection still occur when faith and obedience meet divine power. God uses ordinary believers to perform extraordinary works for His glory.

As we yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, we become channels of His love and power. The purpose of every miracle is to glorify Christ and bring souls into His kingdom. The same Jesus who healed Aeneas and raised Dorcas is alive today and still performing wonders among His people.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your healing power that is still active today.
2. Father, make me a vessel through whom Your power can flow.
3. Every form of paralysis in my life, receive divine healing now.
4. O Lord, let Your compassion fill my heart for those in need.
5. Revive every dead virtue and gift in my life.
6. Father, let Your name be glorified through the miracles in my life.
7. Lord, use my testimony to draw others to Christ.
8. Every situation that seems hopeless, receive resurrection power now.
9. O Lord, release revival in our church through signs and wonders.
10. Let every good work I do bring glory to Your name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall be a channel of divine healing and restoration!
2. Every long-standing affliction in your life is ending now!
3. The same Jesus who healed Aeneas will make you whole today!
4. Every dead thing in your life shall rise again by divine power!
5. You shall be known as a vessel of compassion and miracles!
6. Through your testimony, many shall turn to the Lord!
7. The power of resurrection shall operate continually in your life!
8. Your faith shall command visible miracles that glorify God!
9. You shall not die before your divine assignment is fulfilled!
10. Wherever you go, the presence and power of God shall accompany you!

THE POWER OF CONVERSION – SAUL BECOMES PAUL

THE POWER OF CONVERSION – SAUL BECOMES PAUL

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 9:1-19

Key Verse:He is a chosen vessel unto me.” (Acts 9:15)

Supporting Texts: 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Timothy 1:12-16; Ezekiel 36:26; Galatians 1:23-24

Description: God’s transforming grace can turn the fiercest persecutor into His greatest preacher.

INTRODUCTION:
The story of Saul’s conversion is one of the greatest demonstrations of divine grace and mercy. Saul of Tarsus was a man zealous for religion but blind to the truth. He hated the followers of Christ, persecuted them with passion, and even consented to their deaths. Yet, the Lord who searches all hearts saw in him a vessel that could be used for His glory.

On the road to Damascus, Saul encountered the risen Christ in a dramatic, life-changing moment. The light that shone from heaven not only blinded his eyes but illuminated his soul. The enemy of the Church became an apostle of Christ, proving that no life is too lost for redemption.

This passage reminds us that God’s power can reach anyone, anywhere, regardless of their past. When Jesus steps into a person’s life, transformation becomes inevitable.

1. DIVINE ENCOUNTER BRINGS TRANSFORMATION
Before a person can truly change, they must have a personal encounter with the living Christ. Saul’s transformation began the moment he met Jesus on the Damascus road.

a) Encounter beyond religion (Acts 9:3-4): Saul was religious but lost until he met Jesus personally. True salvation is not about religion but relationship with Christ.

b) The power of conviction (Acts 9:5): The question, “Why persecutest thou me?” pierced Saul’s conscience, revealing his sin. Conviction precedes conversion.

c) Surrender to divine will (Acts 9:6): Saul’s immediate response, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” marked the beginning of obedience. Transformation starts with surrender.

d) Humility before God’s power (Acts 9:8-9): The once-proud Saul became helpless, led by others. God sometimes humbles us to prepare us for His higher purpose.

Biblical Example: The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:5-30) encountered Jesus and was instantly transformed into a bold witness.

2. GOD USES HIS SERVANTS TO RESTORE THE BROKEN
God often uses others to confirm His work in the life of a convert. Ananias became a divine instrument in Saul’s restoration and commissioning.

a) Obedience in divine assignment (Acts 9:10-11): Ananias listened to God’s voice even when the instruction seemed risky. Obedience opens doors for miracles.

b) Love that conquers fear (Acts 9:13-15): Though Saul’s reputation was terrifying, Ananias approached him in love. Kingdom service requires courage rooted in faith.

c) Restoration through spiritual impartation (Acts 9:17-18): Ananias laid hands on Saul, and his sight was restored. God still works through Spirit-filled vessels to bring healing and deliverance.

d) Empowered for service (Acts 9:19): Saul was strengthened and began his mission. Restoration always leads to empowerment for divine assignment.

Biblical Example: Elijah was sent to restore the faith and strength of the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16).

3. TRUE CONVERSION PRODUCES NEW IDENTITY AND PURPOSE
When Christ saves a person, He gives them a new name, a new mission, and a new destiny.

a) Old life passes away (2 Corinthians 5:17): Saul’s old nature was crucified; he became Paul, a new creation in Christ Jesus.

b) Divine purpose revealed (Acts 9:15): God declared that Saul was a chosen vessel to bear His name. Conversion reveals divine destiny.

c) Grace turns the worst into a witness (1 Timothy 1:13-16):
Paul later testified that he was the chief of sinners, yet mercy found him. Grace redefines our story.

d) Transformation brings glory to God (Galatians 1:23-24): Those who once feared Saul glorified God because of his change. True conversion always leads others to praise God.

Biblical Example: Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10) was transformed from a greedy tax collector into a generous follower of Christ.

4. EVERY CONVERT MUST BECOME A WITNESS FOR CHRIST
The purpose of salvation is not only personal redemption but also to testify to others about the saving power of Jesus.

a) Immediate witness (Acts 9:20):
Saul began to preach Christ in the synagogues without delay. True salvation produces boldness to testify.

b) Power of testimony (Revelation 12:11): Our testimonies overcome the devil and inspire others to faith.

c) Endurance in persecution (Acts 9:23-25): Saul faced resistance, but his commitment remained unshaken. Genuine faith perseveres under pressure.

d) Dependence on the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:22): The Spirit empowered Saul to speak and confound the enemies of truth. No witness can succeed without the Spirit’s help.

Biblical Example: The healed demoniac (Mark 5:18-20) went about publishing what great things Jesus had done for him.

CONCLUSION:
The conversion of Saul reminds us that God’s mercy knows no limits. No one is beyond redemption when grace steps in. Just as Saul was transformed into Paul, God can change any life and use it for His glory.

Every believer must be ready to encounter Christ, yield to His will, and become a vessel of witness to the world. The same power that changed Saul is still at work today, turning enemies of the gospel into ambassadors of Christ.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your mercy that transforms lives.
2. O Lord, encounter me afresh and change my story.
3. Every spirit of pride resisting Your will in my life, be broken in Jesus’ name.
4. Father, make me a vessel of honour in Your hands.

8. Let my life become a living testimony of Your grace.

DIVINE GUIDANCE IN EVANGELISM

DIVINE GUIDANCE IN EVANGELISM

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 8:26-40

Key Verse:Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.” (Acts 8:29)

Supporting Texts: Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 30:21; Romans 8:14; John 16:13; Matthew 10:19-20

Description: Effective evangelism is not driven by human wisdom but by divine direction; the Holy Spirit leads the soul-winner to prepared hearts for eternal impact.

INTRODUCTION:
Evangelism is the heartbeat of God, yet it must always be guided by the Holy Spirit to be fruitful. The story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 reminds us that soul-winning is not merely about zeal or human strategy; it is about divine timing, divine direction, and divine orchestration.

Philip had just witnessed a massive revival in Samaria when the angel of the Lord instructed him to leave the crowd and go to a desert road. To the natural mind, this seemed unwise, but Philip obeyed instantly. His obedience led him to one soul who was hungry for the Word, and that encounter opened the door for the Gospel to enter Ethiopia.

Every true evangelist must learn to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Divine guidance in evangelism ensures that no effort is wasted, that every message is Spirit-inspired, and that every contact becomes a divine appointment. When we walk in step with the Spirit, He connects us with those whom God has already prepared to receive salvation.

1. DIVINE GUIDANCE IS ESSENTIAL IN EVANGELISM
No one can truly win souls effectively without the leading of the Holy Spirit. He knows who is ready and where they are.

a) God knows the right person and place (Acts 8:26): Philip was led from a citywide revival to a specific desert encounter because God had prepared the eunuch’s heart.

b) The Holy Spirit orchestrates divine appointments (Romans 8:14): When we are led by the Spirit, we find ourselves in the right place at the right time.

c) Human wisdom cannot replace divine direction (Proverbs 3:5-6): The most successful evangelistic efforts come from total dependence on God’s leading.

d) God’s instructions often come unexpectedly (Isaiah 30:21): We must train our spirits to hear and respond promptly when the Lord speaks.

Biblical Example: Abraham’s servant, led by God, met Rebekah at the well (Genesis 24:12-27). His obedience to divine guidance led to the fulfilment of God’s covenant plan.

2. OBEDIENCE TO DIVINE INSTRUCTION BRINGS FRUITFUL RESULTS
Divine direction is useless without immediate and willing obedience. Philip did not argue with the Spirit; he acted promptly and experienced supernatural fruit.

a) Obedience is proof of faith (Hebrews 11:8): Like Abraham, Philip obeyed without knowing the full picture, trusting that God’s plan was perfect.

b) Prompt obedience opens the door to divine encounters (Acts 8:27): The moment Philip obeyed, he met the man seeking truth.

c) Partial obedience limits divine blessing (1 Samuel 15:22): Delayed or incomplete obedience often hinders revival and soul-winning breakthroughs.

d) God rewards obedience with harvest (Luke 5:4-6): When Peter obeyed Jesus’ instruction, he experienced a miraculous catch — obedience produces results.

Biblical Example: Peter’s obedience to the Spirit’s command in Acts 10 led to the salvation of Cornelius and his household, marking the first Gentile conversion.

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS THE WITNESSING BELIEVER
The Spirit not only guides but also empowers the believer with words, wisdom, and courage for effective evangelism.

a) The Holy Spirit gives utterance and boldness (Acts 2:4): Philip’s message was clear and Spirit-filled because it came from divine inspiration.

b) He opens understanding of the Scriptures (John 16:13): The Spirit gave Philip insight to explain Isaiah’s prophecy to the eunuch.

c) The Spirit removes barriers to the Gospel (2 Corinthians 3:6): Without Him, hearts remain hardened; with Him, they become receptive.

d) He empowers believers to reach beyond limitations (Acts 1:8): The Spirit gives power to testify across borders and cultures.

Biblical Example: Jesus told His disciples not to begin ministry until they received power from the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49). This power birthed the early church’s unstoppable evangelism.

4. DIVINE GUIDANCE LEADS TO LASTING IMPACT
When God leads, the results endure beyond the moment. The eunuch’s conversion was not a one-time miracle, it became a seed for revival in his nation.

a) Spirit-led evangelism produces genuine conversion (Acts 8:36-38): The eunuch’s baptism was a sign of deep, heartfelt faith.

b) Divine encounters create generational influence (Psalm 102:18): The Gospel Philip shared became the foundation of Christianity in Ethiopia.

c) God multiplies the fruits of Spirit-led labour (1 Corinthians 3:6): One obedient act can lead to a great spiritual harvest.

d) Joy follows every Spirit-guided mission (Acts 8:39): Philip rejoiced, and the eunuch went his way rejoicing; divine direction always brings joy.

Biblical Example: Jesus’ meeting with the Samaritan woman (John 4:7-30) led to a citywide revival; a perfect example of divine direction producing lasting impact.

CONCLUSION:
Divine guidance in evangelism is a partnership between human obedience and the Spirit’s leading. Philip’s story reminds us that one Spirit-directed step can change nations and destinies. God still speaks, and He still leads His people to prepared hearts today.

If we will listen, trust, and obey, we too will experience divine appointments that bring salvation to many. Let us surrender to the Spirit’s voice, for every true soul-winner is one who walks in step with the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, teach me to hear and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit.
2. Holy Spirit, guide my steps to people whose hearts are ready for the Gospel.
3. Father, deliver me from human wisdom in spiritual assignments.
4. Lord, make me sensitive to divine instructions in every situation.
5. Holy Spirit, fill me with boldness and wisdom to share Christ effectively.
6. Every distraction that hinders my obedience, be removed in Jesus’ name.
7. Lord, use me to bring lasting transformation wherever I go.
8. Father, let my evangelism bear fruits that remain.
9. Holy Spirit, turn every ordinary encounter in my life into a divine appointment.
10. Lord, let Your guidance lead me to revival and expansion of Your Kingdom.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall not miss divine direction in your life and ministry!
2. The Holy Spirit shall lead you to prepared hearts!
3. Every step you take shall align with God’s perfect will!
4. You shall become a vessel of supernatural evangelistic impact!
5. The voice of God shall be clear and constant in your spirit!
6. You shall never labour in vain in soul-winning!
7. Divine appointments shall follow you everywhere you go!
8. You shall bring salvation and joy to many families!
9. The Spirit of God shall empower your words with life and power!
10. You shall experience joy and fruitfulness in every divine assignment!

REVIVAL IN SAMARIA

REVIVAL IN SAMARIA

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 8:5-8

Key Verse:And there was great joy in that city.” (Acts 8:8)

Supporting Texts: Matthew 4:23-24; Mark 16:15-18; Acts 1:8; Romans 15:13; Psalm 85:6

Description: When the Gospel of Christ is preached in the power of the Holy Spirit, deliverance, healing, and overflowing joy are released, bringing revival to individuals, families, and communities.

INTRODUCTION:
Revival is a divine visitation that awakens spiritual hunger, renews faith, and releases the power of God among His people. It begins when the message of Christ is preached under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, producing repentance, salvation, healing, and joy.

In Acts 8, we see how Philip, one of the deacons, went down to Samaria and proclaimed Christ with boldness. The result was a mighty outpouring of divine power, unclean spirits fled, the sick were healed, and there was great joy in the city. This revival was not orchestrated by human strength but by the move of the Spirit through the Word.

Every genuine revival still follows this pattern. When Jesus is lifted up, the Holy Spirit confirms the message with signs, wonders, and changed lives. The same God who moved in Samaria desires to bring revival to our families, communities, and churches today.

1. THE MESSAGE OF CHRIST BRINGS REVIVAL
True revival begins when Christ is preached, for He is the centre of all transformation and deliverance.

a) The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16): The preaching of Christ releases divine power that changes hearts and brings men into the Kingdom.

b) Revival follows the exaltation of Jesus (John 12:32): When Christ is lifted up, His presence draws men to repentance and renewal.

c) The Word of God carries life and light (John 6:63): Philip’s message was not mere talk but Spirit-breathed truth that awakened the city.

d) Preaching Christ brings conviction of sin (Acts 2:37): Revival begins when hearts are pierced and turned toward righteousness.

Biblical Example: The revival in Nineveh under Jonah’s preaching (Jonah 3:5-10) shows how a simple message of repentance can turn a whole city back to God.

2. THE POWER OF GOD ACCOMPANIES TRUE REVIVAL
Every true revival is marked by a visible manifestation of God’s power through deliverance, healing, and miracles.

a) God confirms His Word with signs following (Mark 16:20): The miraculous always accompanies the faithful preaching of the Gospel.

b) Deliverance breaks the power of darkness (Acts 8:7): Evil spirits fled from the people of Samaria as the name of Jesus was proclaimed.

c) Healing testifies to the living Christ (Matthew 4:24): The healing of the sick became evidence that Jesus is alive and working through His servants.

d) The power of God silences opposition (1 John 4:4): Every demonic manipulation bows at the presence of the Holy Spirit during revival.

Biblical Example: In Acts 19:11-12, God worked special miracles through Paul in Ephesus, demonstrating that revival power subdues the works of darkness and exalts Christ.

3. REVIVAL BRINGS JOY AND RESTORATION
The presence of God in revival replaces sorrow with joy, despair with hope, and bondage with freedom.

a) Revival restores spiritual vitality (Psalm 85:6): When God revives His people, hearts are renewed, and joy is restored.

b) Deliverance brings rejoicing (Luke 10:17): The disciples rejoiced when they saw the power of Jesus triumph over evil spirits.

c) Salvation brings heavenly joy (Luke 15:7): Every soul won in revival adds joy both on earth and in heaven.

d) Revival transforms communities (Isaiah 61:3): The beauty of God’s glory replaces the ashes of sin and sorrow, filling lives with rejoicing.

Biblical Example: After the healing of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate (Acts 3:1-10), great joy filled Jerusalem; the same joy that flooded Samaria during Philip’s ministry.

4. REVIVAL FLOWS THROUGH AVAILABLE VESSELS
God uses ordinary men and women who are filled with the Spirit and willing to obey His call.

a) Availability precedes usefulness (Isaiah 6:8): God looks for those who will say, “Here am I, send me.” Philip’s obedience opened the door to Samaria’s revival.

b) The Holy Spirit empowers for impact (Acts 1:8): Without the Spirit, our efforts are empty; with Him, even one person can shake a city.

c) Revival requires courage and faith (Joshua 1:9): Philip left his comfort zone to minister in a place once despised by Jews, faith moves us beyond fear.

d) God confirms obedient service (2 Chronicles 16:9): When we yield to God’s purpose, His power backs our efforts.

Biblical Example: The woman at the well (John 4:28-30) became an instrument of revival in Samaria when she boldly testified about Christ, proving that God uses any vessel willing to speak.

CONCLUSION:
The revival in Samaria stands as a powerful reminder that when the Gospel is preached in truth and power, God moves mightily to save, heal, and restore. Joy is the natural result of divine visitation, and every city, family, and church can experience this same outpouring today.

Let us become willing vessels, filled with the Holy Spirit, preaching Christ in boldness and faith. When we lift up Jesus, miracles follow, strongholds break, and great joy fills the land. The same God who moved in Samaria is ready to move again, if we will yield to His power.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, send revival to my life, family, and community.
2. Holy Spirit, fill me afresh with Your power for evangelism.
3. Lord, make me an instrument of revival wherever I go.
4. Let every power of darkness bow to the name of Jesus in my city.
5. Father, let Your Word come with power and conviction through me.
6. Lord, restore joy and healing to every broken life.
7. Let signs and wonders follow the preaching of Your Word.
8. Uproot every barrier hindering the move of the Holy Spirit.
9. Lord, let there be great joy and deliverance in our nation.
10. Revive Your Church again, O Lord, and let Your glory fill the earth.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall be a vessel of revival in your generation!
2. Every area of darkness in your life shall receive divine light!
3. You shall bring joy and deliverance to your family!
4. The power of God shall flow through you mightily!
5. Every chain of oppression around you is broken in Jesus’ name!
6. Your city shall experience great joy because of your obedience!
7. You shall not be an idle believer, you shall be a fire carrier!
8. Miracles, signs, and wonders shall follow your testimony!
9. You shall experience a personal revival that changes your world!
10. Great joy shall fill your life, home, and ministry in Jesus’ name!

STEPHEN’S FAITH AND FORGIVENESS

STEPHEN’S FAITH AND FORGIVENESS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Acts 7:54-60

Key Verse:And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60)

Supporting Texts: Matthew 5:44; Luke 23:34; Romans 12:14-21; 1 Peter 2:21-23

Description: Stephen’s life teaches believers how to maintain faith and forgiveness even in the face of hatred, persecution, and death.

INTRODUCTION:
Stephen was one of the first deacons appointed in the early church, a man described as “full of faith and of the Holy Ghost.” His life exemplified spiritual boldness, wisdom, and deep compassion even toward his persecutors. When accused falsely and stoned to death, Stephen displayed unwavering faith in Christ and an extraordinary spirit of forgiveness that mirrored his Saviour.

This account teaches every believer that true discipleship involves standing firm in the truth, even when it is costly. Faith in Christ is not proven in comfort but in conviction. It also shows that forgiveness is not a weakness, but the ultimate demonstration of divine strength.

In a world where hatred, revenge, and malice often dominate relationships, Stephen’s example reminds us that the Spirit-filled life produces faith that cannot be shaken and love that refuses to retaliate.

1. STEPHEN’S FAITH IN THE MIDST OF PERSECUTION
Stephen’s faith was not based on convenience or popularity; it was rooted in the conviction that Jesus Christ is Lord, even in the face of danger.

a) A life full of faith and the Holy Ghost (Acts 6:5): Stephen’s spiritual strength came from being filled with the Holy Spirit. His faith was not intellectual but Spirit-empowered.

b) Boldness to speak the truth (Acts 7:51-52): He confronted sin and falsehood with courage, even before religious leaders. Faith speaks truth without fear.

c) Faith that sees beyond circumstances (Acts 7:55-56): Stephen saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of the Father. Faith enables believers to see victory even in suffering.

d) Faith that endures unto death (Revelation 2:10): Stephen’s faith did not waver at the point of death. True faith perseveres to the end.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s unwavering faith in the lions’ den (Daniel 6:10-23) mirrors Stephen’s boldness under threat. Both chose obedience to God over fear of death.

2. THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS IN THE FACE OF HATRED
Forgiveness is one of the greatest marks of spiritual maturity. Stephen’s final words revealed his Christlike heart.

a) Forgiveness imitates Christ’s nature (Luke 23:34): Stephen’s prayer for his killers echoed Jesus’ words on the cross. Forgiveness reflects divine nature.

b) Forgiveness releases divine peace (Colossians 3:13-15): Instead of anger or bitterness, Stephen died peacefully, full of grace. Forgiveness sets the heart free.

c) Forgiveness demonstrates love over revenge (Romans 12:17-21): Stephen’s act of mercy conquered hatred with love. God’s power is revealed when we respond with grace.

d) Forgiveness influences others for God (Acts 8:1): Saul, who witnessed Stephen’s death, was later transformed into Paul the Apostle, showing how forgiveness can inspire conversion.

Biblical Example: Joseph forgave his brothers (Genesis 50:19-21), showing that forgiveness turns pain into purpose and preserves divine destiny.

3. THE REWARD OF FAITHFULNESS UNTO DEATH
Stephen’s martyrdom was not the end of his story; it was his crown of glory.

a) Heaven honours faithful witnesses (2 Timothy 4:7-8): Stephen’s faithfulness earned him an eternal reward. God never forgets those who stand firm for Him.

b) Jesus stands to receive His faithful ones (Acts 7:56): Stephen saw Jesus standing; a sign of divine honour and welcome into eternal rest.

c) Suffering for Christ brings glory (1 Peter 4:12-13): The pain of persecution is temporary, but the glory that follows is eternal.

d) Faithfulness inspires future generations (Hebrews 12:1-2): Stephen’s example became a pillar of encouragement for all believers facing trials.

Biblical Example: The Apostle Paul later endured similar persecution (2 Corinthians 11:23-27), drawing inspiration from those like Stephen who went before him.

4. LESSONS FOR TODAY’S BELIEVERS
Stephen’s life challenges every Christian to live boldly and love deeply, even in adversity.

a) Stand firm in faith (1 Corinthians 16:13): Faith is not for fair weather; it must endure under pressure.

b) Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18): Only a Spirit-filled believer can display Stephen’s boldness and forgiveness.

c) Let love lead your actions (1 John 4:7-8): Even in conflict, love must remain the believer’s guiding principle.

d) Live with eternity in view (Philippians 3:20): Stephen looked beyond earthly suffering to heavenly glory, we must do the same.

Biblical Example: Jesus’ endurance on the cross (Hebrews 12:2) is the perfect model of perseverance and forgiveness that Stephen followed.

CONCLUSION:
Stephen’s life is a timeless testimony of what it means to walk in the Spirit. His faith was unshaken by persecution, and his heart was unpolluted by bitterness. In his death, he revealed the very heart of Christ: full of grace, mercy, and truth.

Every believer is called to this same level of spiritual maturity. When you walk in faith and forgiveness, you overcome evil with good and display the true power of the Gospel. May God grant us the strength to remain faithful, forgiving, and fearless in all circumstances.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, fill me with unwavering faith like Stephen.
2. Holy Spirit, empower me to stand firm in the face of trials.
3. Lord, purge my heart of every root of bitterness.
4. Give me the grace to forgive those who offend me.
5. Let my life radiate the power and presence of Christ.
6. Strengthen me to speak truth without fear or compromise.
7. Lord, help me to see Your glory even in my challenges.
8. May my life influence others positively for Christ.
9. Let me remain faithful unto the end.
10. Lord, crown my life with eternal glory in Your presence.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
1. You shall be filled with unshakeable faith in every trial!
2. You shall walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit!
3. You shall not be moved by persecution or opposition!
4. You shall overcome every evil with divine love!
5. You shall operate in the forgiving nature of Christ!
6. You shall influence your generation for righteousness!
7. You shall see the glory of God in your challenges!
8. You shall receive honour and favour for your faithfulness!
9. You shall finish your race strong and joyful!
10. You shall receive your eternal crown of glory in Jesus’ name!
