INTRODUCTION
Bondage is a state of captivity that limits an individual’s progress, joy, and destiny. Many people are held in different kinds of bondage, just like the demoniac in Mark 5. However, Jesus came to set the captives free. When a person rejects bondage and embraces divine liberty, transformation takes place. Today, we will explore various forms of bondage and declare freedom in Christ.
1. THE REALITY OF BONDAGE
a) Bondage is a Spiritual Condition – Many people are held captive by unseen forces (Ephesians 6:12).
b) Bondage Limits Destiny – The demoniac in Mark 5 was restricted and unable to function in society.
c) Bondage Brings Shame – People in bondage often experience disgrace and humiliation (Proverbs 14:34).
d) Bondage Leads to Torment – The man in Mark 5 was tormented day and night, cutting himself.
e) Biblical Example: The Israelites in Egypt were under Pharaoh’s bondage until God delivered them (Exodus 3:7-10).
2. DIFFERENT FORMS OF BONDAGE
a) Bondage of Sickness – Diseases and infirmities that limit health and productivity (Luke 13:11-13).
b) Bondage of Poverty – Constant financial struggles and lack (Deuteronomy 28:38-39).
c) Bondage of Fear – Living in anxiety and worry (2 Timothy 1:7).
