THE SIEGE IS OVER

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Key Verse: “And Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.” — 2 Kings 7:1 (KJV)

Supporting Texts: Jeremiah 52:11, Isaiah 10:27, Isaiah 49:24-26

Description:
God is able to break every siege and turn captivity into freedom by His word and power.

INTRODUCTION:
A siege represents a state of confinement, delay, oppression, or affliction. In the days of Elisha, Samaria was besieged by the Syrian army, and hunger filled the land. A siege can be physical, financial, spiritual, or emotional, anything that limits movement and progress.

When a siege is in place, resources dry up, hope fades, and desperation takes over. But the good news of the gospel is that God can end any siege, no matter how long it has lasted. Just as He spoke through His prophet Elisha and reversed the famine overnight, He is still able to shift situations suddenly.

This study declares that the siege is over! The same God who broke the siege over Samaria will break every chain, limitation, and delay in your life. When God speaks, impossibilities bow, and long-standing battles come to an end.

1. UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF A SIEGE
A siege is not just a military term; it is a spiritual state where one’s life, progress, or destiny is surrounded and restricted by forces of darkness.

a) A siege brings delay and stagnation (Daniel 10:12-13)
When forces of darkness block divine answers, progress becomes slow, and prayers seem unanswered.

b) A siege produces fear and hopelessness (2 Kings 6:24-25)
Under a siege, people lose courage and become victims of despair and compromise.

c) A siege drains resources and causes hardship (Deuteronomy 28:52-53)
When the enemy surrounds a life, there is scarcity: physically, financially, or spiritually.

d) A siege aims to destroy destiny (John 10:10)
Satan’s ultimate goal is to keep people from fulfilling their divine purpose by surrounding them with oppression.

Biblical Example: The siege of Samaria left the people desperate, but through the prophetic word of Elisha, God turned famine into abundance overnight (2 Kings 7:1-20).

2. GOD’S WORD BREAKS EVERY SIEGE
When God speaks, His word becomes the instrument of deliverance and restoration.

a) The word of God carries divine authority (Isaiah 55:10-11)
God’s word never fails; it accomplishes what He sends it to do.

b) The word brings light into darkness (Psalm 119:130)
Every siege thrives in darkness, but the entrance of God’s word brings revelation and freedom.

c) The word creates sudden change (Genesis 1:3)
One divine command can shift a lifetime of limitation.

d) The word releases divine favour (Luke 5:5-7)
When we act upon the spoken word, results manifest beyond human expectation.

Biblical Example: Peter toiled all night but caught nothing until the word of Jesus came: “Launch out into the deep.” The word broke his siege of fruitlessness (Luke 5:4-6).

3. DIVINE INTERVENTION ENDS EVERY CAPTIVITY
When God arises, no power can keep His people bound.

a) God arises to deliver His people (Exodus 3:7-8)
He hears the cry of the afflicted and comes down to rescue them.

b) Divine intervention breaks yokes (Isaiah 10:27)
The anointing destroys every burden and yoke of oppression.

c) God uses unexpected vessels to bring deliverance (2 Kings 7:3-5)
He used four lepers, unlikely people to announce the end of the siege.

d) Divine help comes suddenly (Psalm 46:5)
When God steps in, turnaround happens “right early.”

Biblical Example: The four lepers of Samaria moved by faith, and God multiplied their steps into a sound of war in the enemy’s camp.

4. OBEDIENCE AND FAITH BRING MANIFESTATION
When the prophetic word is released, faith and obedience activate its fulfilment.

a) Faith receives the impossible (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith sees victory even when the situation looks hopeless.

b) Obedience opens divine doors (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
God blesses those who act on His word without hesitation.

c) Doubt delays divine performance (James 1:6-7)
The unbelieving officer in 2 Kings 7:2 saw the miracle but did not partake of it.

d) Praise reinforces victory (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
Praising God in the face of adversity releases His power to destroy sieges.

Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat and his army sang praises to God, and the Lord caused confusion among their enemies, ending their siege.

CONCLUSION:
Every siege in life has an expiry date. God has the power to overturn long-standing battles, heal wounded hearts, and restore what has been stolen. When His word comes forth and we respond with faith, miracles break out suddenly.

No siege, be it spiritual, financial, or emotional can withstand the voice of the Almighty. Therefore, lift your eyes in faith and declare: The siege is over! Step into your season of freedom, restoration, and divine overflow.
