INTRODUCTION:
God is a God of increase. From creation, His mandate to man was to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and have dominion. Increase is not just a desire in the heart of man; it is a divine mandate woven into the fabric of God’s creation. No one was created to remain stagnant or small — we were made for progress, expansion, and growth.
When we talk about increase, we are not only referring to financial prosperity, but to growth in influence, wisdom, spiritual capacity, relationships, and impact. Divine increase encompasses every area of life. It is God’s will that you advance from one level of glory to another until your life becomes a testimony that others will emulate.
However, increase does not happen by chance. It requires understanding divine principles, taking prophetic steps of obedience, and positioning yourself for God’s supernatural intervention. Just as Isaac prospered in a land of famine by following God’s instruction, you too can increase by all means — regardless of your circumstances — when you walk in divine alignment.
1. INCREASE IS GOD’S COVENANT PLAN FOR YOU
a) God delights in your prosperity (Psalm 35:27)
God takes pleasure in seeing His children prosper and flourish. Your growth brings Him glory.
b) The blessing of the Lord guarantees increase (Proverbs 10:22)
The blessing is an empowerment to prosper, and it makes a man rich without sorrow.
c) The covenant of fruitfulness is unbreakable (Genesis 1:28)
This was the first mandate given to man, and God has not revoked it.
d) God’s plan for you is continuous advancement (Proverbs 4:18)
His desire is that your life shines brighter daily, not dimmer.
Biblical Example: Isaac in the land of Gerar (Genesis 26:12-14)
2. INCREASE REQUIRES OBEDIENCE TO DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS
a) God’s instructions are the pathways to your elevation (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
Every divine command carries the power for your next level.
b) Partial obedience limits divine increase (1 Samuel 15:22)
God desires full compliance, not selective obedience.
c) Obedience unlocks divine resources (Luke 5:4-6)
Simon Peter experienced a net-breaking catch only after following Jesus’ word.
d) Instructions may come in seasons of contradiction (Isaiah 55:8-9)
God’s ways may not make sense, but they always work.
Biblical Example: The widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16)
3. INCREASE COMES THROUGH DILIGENCE AND HARD WORK
a) Diligence positions you for honour (Proverbs 22:29)
Hard work with excellence attracts divine and human rewards.
b) Laziness is a killer of increase (Proverbs 10:4)
The lazy man misses opportunities for growth.
c) Faith without works is dead (James 2:17)
Increase is not for those who merely wish, but for those who act.
d) God blesses the work of your hands (Deuteronomy 28:12)
His favour multiplies your labour.
Biblical Example: Ruth’s diligence in the field (Ruth 2:2-12)
4. INCREASE REQUIRES FAITH AND EXPECTATION
a) Faith is the currency for supernatural increase (Hebrews 11:6)
Without faith, it is impossible to receive from God.
b) Expectation is the womb of manifestation (Proverbs 23:18)
What you expect is what you attract.
c) Doubt hinders divine increase (James 1:6-7)
A double-minded person cannot receive from the Lord.
d) God responds to bold declarations of faith (Mark 11:23)
Speaking faith-filled words attracts heaven’s attention.
Biblical Example: Jabez’s prayer for enlargement (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)
5. INCREASE IS SUSTAINED BY GENEROSITY
a) Giving is God’s method for multiplication (Luke 6:38)
You cannot outgive God; He always multiplies the seed sown
b) Stinginess blocks the flow of increase (Proverbs 11:24-25)
Withholding leads to lack, but generosity brings abundance.
c) Sacrificial giving unlocks uncommon blessings (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
God makes all grace abound toward cheerful givers.
d) Generosity must be done with the right heart (Matthew 6:1-4)
Giving in love and humility attracts divine reward.
Biblical Example: The boy with five loaves and two fishes (John 6:5-13)
CONCLUSION:
Increase is not a coincidence; it is the result of aligning yourself with God’s covenant principles. Whether in times of plenty or in famine, you can experience divine multiplication if you choose to walk in obedience, diligence, faith, and generosity.
God is not limited by your current circumstances. Just as He blessed Isaac in a barren land, He can cause you to flourish in unlikely places. If you are willing to follow His instructions and trust His timing, you will increase by all means.
