INTRODUCTION:
Divine dominion is God's ordained plan for humanity. From the very beginning, when God created mankind in His image and likeness, He gave us authority to rule and reign over the earth. This dominion is not merely about exercising control over creation, but about walking in the authority that God has given us through Christ. It is a divine mandate to establish God's will on earth, to live victoriously, and to exercise godly influence in every area of life. This message explores how we can walk in the fullness of divine dominion.
1. UNDERSTANDING DIVINE DOMINION
a) God’s Original Plan for Humanity:
From the beginning, God intended for man to have dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26).
b) Dominion in the Image of God:
We were created in God's image to reflect His power, wisdom, and authority (Genesis 1:27).
c) Dominion Over Creation:
Our dominion includes exercising authority over the earth, animals, and all living things (Psalm 8:6-8).
d) Dominion is Spiritual Authority:
Dominion also involves spiritual authority to resist the powers of darkness and establish God's kingdom on earth (Ephesians 6:10-13).
e) Biblical Example: Adam’s dominion in Eden, where he named the animals and exercised leadership over creation (Genesis 2:19-20).
2. THE ROLE OF JESUS IN RESTORING DIVINE DOMINION
a) Jesus’ Authority Over All Things:
Jesus declared that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him (Matthew 28:18).
b) Dominion Restored Through Christ:
Through Jesus' death and resurrection, the dominion lost in the fall of man is restored to believers (Romans 5:17).
c) Power to Tread on Serpents and Scorpions:
Jesus gave believers the authority to overcome the forces of darkness (Luke 10:19).
d) Dominion in the Spirit Realm:
Believers are given dominion over the spiritual realm, as we are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).
e) Biblical Example: Jesus calming the storm, showing His dominion over nature (Mark 4:39-41).
3. WALKING IN DIVINE DOMINION
a) Exercising Authority in Prayer:
Prayer is a powerful tool for exercising dominion over situations, circumstances, and powers of darkness (Matthew 18:18).
b) Walking in Obedience to God’s Word:
Our dominion is effective when we live in alignment with God’s will and commands (Joshua 1:8).
c) Operating in God’s Power:
Through the Holy Spirit, we have the power to exercise dominion and accomplish God’s will on earth (Acts 1:8).
d) Speaking Words of Dominion:
Our words have power; we can decree and declare things in accordance with God’s will (Job 22:28).
e) Biblical Example: Jesus exercising dominion over demonic forces, casting out devils in His name (Mark 16:17).
4. THE IMPACT OF DIVINE DOMINION ON BELIEVERS
a) Overcoming Life’s Challenges:
Divine dominion empowers believers to overcome obstacles and challenges in life (Romans 8:37).
b) Living Victoriously:
Believers walk in victory, not defeat, because they have been given the authority to rule (1 Corinthians 15:57).
c) Influence in Every Area of Life:
Divine dominion is meant to affect every sphere of life—home, work, church, community, and nation (Matthew 5:13-14).
d) Establishing God’s Kingdom on Earth:
Dominion involves advancing the kingdom of God, bringing heaven’s values and systems to the earth (Matthew 6:10).
e) Biblical Example: Daniel’s dominion in Babylon, where he influenced the king and prospered despite opposition (Daniel 6:3-4).
5. MAINTAINING DIVINE DOMINION
a) Staying Rooted in God’s Word:
To maintain dominion, we must continually meditate on God's Word and follow His ways (Joshua 1:8).
b) Staying Filled with the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit empowers us to continually walk in divine dominion (Zechariah 4:6).
c) Resisting the Enemy:
Dominion requires constant resistance to the devil and his schemes (James 4:7).
d) Remaining Humble and Submissive to God:
True dominion is exercised with humility, as we submit to God’s authority and rely on His power (1 Peter 5:6).
e) Biblical Example: Joseph’s rise to power in Egypt, maintaining godly dominion through integrity and faithfulness (Genesis 41:46).
CONCLUSION:
Divine dominion is the rightful authority that God has given believers to rule and reign on earth. Through Jesus Christ, this dominion is restored, and believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live victoriously, influence the world for God, and advance His kingdom. By understanding and walking in this divine authority, we can experience victory over the enemy and impact every area of our lives for God's glory.
