THE GOD OF SARAH SHALL MAKE YOU LAUGH

Title: THE GOD OF SARAH SHALL MAKE YOU LAUGH

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Genesis 18:10-14
Supporting Texts: Genesis 21:1-7; Hebrews 11:11-12

INTRODUCTION:
The story of Sarah is one of miraculous transformation. At the age of 90, when it seemed physically impossible, God visited Sarah and opened her womb, allowing her to conceive and give birth to Isaac, the child of promise. When Sarah heard God's promise of a son, she laughed in disbelief. However, the God who promised was faithful, and He made her laugh for joy when Isaac was born. The God of Sarah is still in the business of turning impossible situations into joyous testimonies. Today, He will visit you and bring laughter into your life, just as He did for Sarah.

1. THE GOD WHO TURNS IMPOSSIBILITIES INTO REALITIES

a) God’s Power to Do the Impossible:
Sarah's conception was impossible by natural standards, yet God made a way where there was no way (Luke 1:37). God has the power to make the impossible possible in your life.

b) Trusting God Beyond Human Limitations:
Sarah’s faith was stretched when she heard God’s promise. Trusting God involves looking beyond our human limitations and relying on His infinite power (Jeremiah 32:17).

c) God’s Promises Never Fail:
When God speaks, His words never return void. His promises to Sarah were fulfilled, and He will fulfill His promises to you as well (Isaiah 55:11).

d) God Is Bigger Than Our Doubts:
Sarah laughed in disbelief at first, but God still performed His miracle. Even when doubt arises, God’s power is not limited by our doubts (Mark 9:24).

Biblical Example: The birth of John the Baptist to Elizabeth, despite her old age, shows God’s ability to do the impossible (Luke 1:36-37).

2. THE GOD WHO BRINGS JOY IN THE MIDST OF SORROW

a) God Will End Your Season of Sorrow:
For years, Sarah had been barren, and her sorrow was deep. When God answered her, He replaced her sorrow with joy. Your season of sorrow will turn to joy as God visits you (Psalm 30:5).

b) Laughter as a Sign of God’s Blessing:
When Isaac was born, Sarah said, "God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me" (Genesis 21:6). Laughter will be the evidence of God’s blessing in your life.

c) God’s Timing Brings Perfect Joy:
Sarah’s joy came at the perfect time when God fulfilled His promise. God's timing is always perfect, and He will bring joy into your life at the right time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

d) Replacing Shame with Celebration:
Sarah’s barrenness had been a source of shame, but when Isaac was born, it was a celebration. God will replace your shame with a testimony of His goodness (Isaiah 61:7).

Biblical Example: Hannah’s sorrow turned into joy when God answered her prayer for a child, and she rejoiced in the Lord (1 Samuel 2:1-2).

3. THE GOD WHO FULFILLS HIS PROMISES

a) God Always Keeps His Word:
God promised Sarah a son, and despite the delay, He fulfilled His promise. You can trust that God will fulfill every promise He has made to you (2 Corinthians 1:20).

b) God's Faithfulness Is Not Dependent on Our Timing:
God’s promises are not bound by our sense of timing. Though Sarah waited long years for her miracle, God’s timing was perfect, and He came through (Hebrews 10:23).

c) The Fulfillment of God’s Promise Brings Glory to His Name:
The birth of Isaac was not just a fulfillment of a promise but a testament to God’s glory. Your answered prayer will bring glory to God’s name (John 14:13).

d) Trusting God’s Faithfulness in the Waiting:
Though it took many years, Sarah’s faith in God’s promise never wavered. In the waiting, trust that God is working behind the scenes for your good (Romans 8:28).

Biblical Example: Abraham believed God’s promise of a great nation through his son Isaac, and despite their old age, God fulfilled His promise (Genesis 17:15-19).

4. THE GOD WHO REDEEMS THE PAST AND MAKES ALL THINGS NEW

a) God Can Redeem What Seems Lost:
Sarah had faced years of disappointment and unfulfilled desires, but God redeemed her past and gave her a miracle. God will redeem every lost opportunity in your life (Joel 2:25).

b) God Restores What Was Broken:
God restored Sarah’s joy and fulfilled His promise. Whatever seems broken or delayed in your life, trust that God can restore it (Isaiah 61:7).

c) God Will Make a New Beginning for You:
When Isaac was born, it marked a new beginning for Sarah. God will make all things new in your life, bringing forth new blessings, opportunities, and joy (Revelation 21:5).

d) Embrace God’s New Plan for Your Life:
Sometimes we hold on to old dreams, but God has a new plan. Trust Him to make a way and bring something new and beautiful into your life (Jeremiah 29:11).

Biblical Example: Naomi’s life was restored after the death of her husband and sons, and God gave her a new beginning through Ruth (Ruth 4:13-17).

5. THE GOD WHO MAKES LAUGHTER YOUR TESTIMONY

a) Laughter Will Replace Your Weeping:
Just as Sarah laughed when she held Isaac in her arms, your laughter will be a testimony of God’s faithfulness and goodness in your life (Psalm 126:5-6).

b) God Will Fill Your Mouth with Laughter:
God will fill your heart and mouth with laughter, and you will sing songs of joy because of His goodness (Job 8:21).

c) Your Testimony Will Bring Others to Faith:
Sarah’s laughter was not only her personal testimony but a testimony to those around her. Your testimony will encourage others to trust in God’s faithfulness (Psalm 126:2).

d) Laughter is a Sign of God’s Victory:
When God works in your life, it brings victory, and laughter is a reflection of the joy and peace that comes with His victories (Nehemiah 8:10).

Biblical Example: Elizabeth laughed with joy when she conceived John the Baptist, showing that God brings joy where there was once sorrow (Luke 1:24-25).

CONCLUSION:
