Supporting Texts: Mark 5:25-34, Matthew 9:20-22, Hebrews 11:6, James 5:15, Isaiah 53:5

Description: Faith establishes a connection with Christ that releases divine power and brings total restoration.

INTRODUCTION

In a world full of struggles, many people seek solutions to persistent problems but often come up empty. The story in Luke 8:43-48 presents a woman who had suffered for twelve years, exhausting all human options without success. Her condition symbolises situations that seem prolonged, stubborn, and beyond human remedy.

Despite the crowd surrounding Jesus, this woman made a deliberate decision to reach out in faith. She believed that even a touch of His garment would bring healing. This act of faith distinguished her from the multitude and positioned her for a miracle.

This passage teaches that it is not mere proximity to Jesus that brings transformation, but a faith-filled connection. When faith reaches out, divine power is released, and restoration becomes inevitable.

1. DESPERATION CAN LEAD TO DIVINE ENCOUNTER

A deep sense of need often drives people to seek God wholeheartedly.

a) A Prolonged Situation (Luke 8:43)
The woman suffered for twelve years. Long-standing problems require persistent faith.

b) Failure of Human Solutions (Luke 8:43)
She spent all she had on physicians without success. Human efforts can reach their limits.

c) A Determined Heart (Mark 5:28)
She said within herself that touching Jesus would make her whole. Faith begins with conviction.

d) Turning to Jesus (Jeremiah 33:3)
Calling on God invites divine intervention.

Biblical Example: Blind Bartimaeus cried out persistently to Jesus despite opposition and received his sight (Mark 10:46-52).

2. FAITH REACHES OUT DESPITE OBSTACLES

True faith presses through barriers to connect with Christ.

a) The Pressing Crowd (Luke 8:42)
Many surrounded Jesus, yet only one touched Him in faith.

b) Ignoring Limitations (Luke 8:44)
Cultural and physical limitations did not stop her. Faith overcomes barriers.

c) Personal Responsibility (Hebrews 11:6)
Each individual must exercise faith to receive from God.

d) Focus on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2)
Keeping focus on Christ enables us to overcome distractions.

Biblical Example: Zacchaeus climbed a tree to see Jesus, overcoming obstacles to encounter Him (Luke 19:1-4).

3. FAITH ACTIVATES DIVINE POWER

When faith connects, God’s power flows.

a) The Touch of Faith (Luke 8:44)
The moment she touched Jesus, she was healed. Faith releases power instantly.

b) Power Flows from Christ (Luke 8:46)
Jesus perceived that power had gone out of Him. Divine power responds to faith.

c) Distinction in the Crowd (Luke 8:45)
Many touched Jesus physically, but only one touched Him in faith.

d) Faith Brings Results (James 5:15)
The prayer of faith brings healing and restoration.

Biblical Example: The centurion’s faith brought healing to his servant without physical contact (Luke 7:6-10).

4. DIVINE TOUCH BRINGS WHOLENESS AND PEACE

God’s intervention is not partial, it brings complete restoration.

a) Total Healing (Luke 8:44)
The issue of blood stopped immediately. God’s power is complete.

b) Public Testimony (Luke 8:47)
She declared her healing before all. Testimonies glorify God.

c) Affirmation from Jesus (Luke 8:48)
Jesus called her “Daughter,” restoring her identity and dignity.

d) Peace as a Result (Luke 8:48)
She was sent away in peace. Divine encounters bring lasting peace.

Biblical Example: Naaman was completely healed of leprosy and restored after obeying God’s instruction (2 Kings 5:14).

CONCLUSION

The story of the woman with the issue of blood reminds us that faith is the key to accessing divine power. It is not enough to be around spiritual things; you must personally connect with Christ through faith. When you do, His power flows into every area of need.

No matter how long your situation has persisted, a touch of faith can change everything. Reach out to Jesus today with unwavering belief, and you will experience wholeness, restoration, and peace.

Main Text: Luke 8:26-39

Key Verse: “Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee.” — Luke 8:39

Supporting Texts: Mark 5:1-20, Psalm 107:2, Isaiah 61:1, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, Acts 1:8

Description: Deliverance is not the end; it is the beginning of a divine assignment to testify and impact others.

INTRODUCTION

God’s deliverance is always purposeful. When He rescues a person from bondage, oppression, or sin, it is not merely for personal freedom but also for kingdom impact. Every testimony carries power, and every transformed life becomes a vessel through which God reaches others.

In Luke 8:26-39, Jesus delivered a man possessed by demons in the region of the Gadarenes. After his transformation, the man desired to follow Jesus physically, but Jesus gave him a different instruction—to return home and declare what God had done for him. This shows that deliverance is a gateway to assignment.

Many believers stop at receiving blessings and breakthroughs, forgetting that God expects them to share their testimonies. Your story of deliverance is a tool for evangelism and a means to glorify God. What God has done in your life is meant to impact others.

1. DIVINE ENCOUNTER BRINGS COMPLETE DELIVERANCE

A genuine encounter with Jesus results in total transformation.

a) From Bondage to Freedom (Luke 8:27-29)
The man was bound by demonic forces, but Jesus set him free. God delivers completely.

b) Authority Over Darkness (Luke 8:30-33)
Jesus commanded the demons, demonstrating His authority over all powers.

c) Restoration of Identity (Luke 8:35)
The man was found clothed and in his right mind. Deliverance restores dignity and identity.

d) God’s Power is Absolute (Colossians 2:15)
Christ has triumphed over principalities and powers.

Biblical Example: Mary Magdalene was delivered from demonic oppression and became a devoted follower of Jesus (Luke 8:2).

2. DELIVERANCE POSITIONS YOU FOR PURPOSE

God delivers you to reposition you for His assignment.

a) A New Direction (Luke 8:38-39)
The man desired to follow Jesus physically, but Jesus redirected him to his community.

b) Purpose Beyond Freedom (Ephesians 2:10)
We are created for good works prepared by God.

c) From Victim to Vessel (2 Timothy 2:21)
Deliverance turns you into a vessel fit for God’s use.

d) Called to Represent Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)
Believers become ambassadors for Christ.

Biblical Example: Paul was delivered and immediately commissioned to preach the gospel (Acts 9:15-20).

3. YOUR TESTIMONY IS A POWERFUL TOOL

What God has done in your life is meant to influence others.

a) Declaring God’s Works (Luke 8:39)
Jesus instructed the man to testify. Sharing your story glorifies God.

b) Overcoming by Testimony (Revelation 12:11)
Testimonies are instruments of victory over the enemy.

c) Inspiring Faith in Others (Psalm 66:16)
Testimonies encourage others to trust God.

d) Evangelism Through Experience (Acts 1:8)
Personal encounters become a witness to the power of God.

Biblical Example: The blind man healed by Jesus boldly testified before the Pharisees, declaring what God had done (John 9:24-25).

4. OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S INSTRUCTION FULFILS YOUR ASSIGNMENT

Responding to God’s direction ensures that your life fulfils its purpose.

a) Immediate Obedience (Luke 8:39)
The man went his way and proclaimed the miracle. Obedience must be prompt.

b) Impacting Your Sphere (Acts 22:15)
You are called to be a witness where you are.

c) Faithfulness in Small Beginnings (Zechariah 4:10)
Starting from your immediate environment leads to greater impact.

d) God Multiplies Obedience (Matthew 25:21)
Faithfulness brings increase and greater opportunities.

Biblical Example: The Samaritan woman obeyed immediately by telling her city about Jesus, leading many to believe (John 4:28-30, 39).

CONCLUSION

Deliverance is not the end of the journey; it is the beginning of a divine assignment. God has rescued you not only for your benefit but also to make you a vessel of testimony and transformation. Your story carries power, and your life is a message to others.

Do not keep silent about what God has done for you. Share your testimony boldly and obey His instructions. As you do, you will fulfil your divine assignment and bring glory to God.

PEACE IN THE MIDST OF STORMS

PEACE IN THE MIDST OF STORMS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 8:22-25

Key Verse: “And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.” — Luke 8:25

Supporting Texts: Psalm 46:1-3, Isaiah 26:3, Mark 4:35-41, John 14:27, Philippians 4:6-7

Description: Trusting in Christ brings supernatural peace and victory even in the midst of life’s storms.

INTRODUCTION

Life is filled with storms: unexpected challenges, trials, and situations that test our faith. These storms can arise suddenly, shaking our confidence and filling our hearts with fear. Whether they are emotional, financial, spiritual, or physical, storms are inevitable in the journey of life.

In Luke 8:22-25, the disciples found themselves in a violent storm while Jesus was in the boat with them. Despite His presence, fear overtook them as the waves threatened to sink the boat. Yet, with a single command, Jesus calmed the storm, revealing His authority over nature and His ability to bring peace in chaos.

This passage teaches that the presence of storms does not mean the absence of God. Instead, it is an opportunity to exercise faith and experience His power. When faith is anchored in Christ, peace becomes possible even in the most turbulent situations.

1. STORMS ARE A REALITY OF LIFE

Every believer will face challenges at some point.

a) Unexpected Storms (Luke 8:23)
The storm arose suddenly. Life’s challenges often come without warning.

b) Even the Faithful Face Storms (John 16:33)
Jesus assured that tribulation is part of life, even for believers.

c) Storms Test Faith (1 Peter 1:6-7)
Trials refine and strengthen our faith.

d) No One Is Exempt (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
Challenges are common to all, regardless of status or spirituality.

Biblical Example: Job experienced intense trials despite his righteousness, showing that storms can come to the faithful (Job 1:13-19).

2. JESUS IS PRESENT EVEN IN THE STORM

God’s presence remains with us, even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

a) Jesus Was in the Boat (Luke 8:22)
His presence was with the disciples, even though they felt afraid.

b) God’s Promise of Presence (Isaiah 43:2)
God assures us that He will be with us through waters and fire.

c) Trusting His Nearness (Psalm 23:4)
Even in the valley, God is present and guiding.

d) Faith Over Fear (Hebrews 13:5)
God will never leave nor forsake His people.

Biblical Example: God was with Daniel in the lions’ den, preserving him despite danger (Daniel 6:22).

3. FAITH IN CHRIST CALMS THE STORM

Faith activates God’s power to bring peace and deliverance.

a) Jesus Rebukes the Storm (Luke 8:24)
Christ has authority over every storm in life.

b) The Power of Faith (Matthew 17:20)
Faith can move mountains and change circumstances.

c) Speaking Peace (Mark 4:39)
Jesus spoke peace into chaos, demonstrating the power of His Word.

d) Trusting God’s Control (Psalm 107:29)
God calms storms and brings stillness.

Biblical Example: Moses stretched out his hand over the Red Sea, and God parted the waters, delivering Israel (Exodus 14:21-22).

4. FEAR WEAKENS FAITH, BUT TRUST BUILDS PEACE

Fear and faith cannot dominate the heart at the same time.

a) Jesus’ Question (Luke 8:25)
“Where is your faith?” challenges believers to examine their trust in God.

b) Fear Distorts Perspective (2 Timothy 1:7)
God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and a sound mind.

c) Perfect Peace Through Trust (Isaiah 26:3)
Trusting God brings peace that surpasses understanding.

d) Choosing Faith Daily (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith pleases God and positions us for His intervention.

Biblical Example: Peter walked on water when he focused on Jesus but began to sink when fear took over (Matthew 14:28-31).

CONCLUSION

Storms will come, but they do not have the final say. Jesus, the Master of the storm, is always present and ready to bring peace. The key is not the absence of storms but the presence of faith. When you trust Him, He speaks peace into every chaos.

Choose to anchor your faith in Christ, no matter what you face. As you do, you will experience calm in the midst of turmoil and victory over every storm of life.

THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER REVISITED

THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER REVISITED

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 8:4-15

Key Verse: “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” — Luke 8:15

Supporting Texts: Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, James 1:21, Hebrews 4:2, Hosea 10:12

Description: The condition of your heart determines how God’s Word produces fruit in your life.

INTRODUCTION

The Word of God is powerful, life-giving, and capable of transforming destinies. However, its effectiveness in a believer’s life is largely determined by the condition of the heart that receives it. Just as seeds require good soil to grow, the Word of God requires a receptive and prepared heart to produce results.

In Luke 8:4–15, Jesus shares the parable of the sower, illustrating how the same seed produces different outcomes based on the type of soil it falls upon. The seed represents the Word of God, while the soil represents the human heart. This teaching emphasises that the issue is not the seed but the condition of the receiver.

This message calls for self-examination. Every believer must assess the state of their heart to ensure it is fertile ground for God’s Word. When the heart is right, the harvest will be abundant and lasting.

1. THE HEART CAN BECOME HARD AND UNRECEPTIVE

A hardened heart prevents the Word from taking root.

a) The Wayside Heart (Luke 8:5)
The seed fell by the wayside and was trampled. A hardened heart resists God’s Word.

b) Spiritual Theft (Luke 8:12)
The devil comes to take away the Word before it can produce results.

c) Lack of Understanding (Matthew 13:19)
Without understanding, the Word cannot take root.

d) Guarding the Heart (Proverbs 4:23)
The heart must be protected from influences that harden it.

Biblical Example: Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his heart against God’s Word, resulting in destruction (Exodus 8:15, 32).

2. A SHALLOW HEART CANNOT SUSTAIN GROWTH

Emotional responses without depth lead to temporary results.

a) The Stony Ground (Luke 8:6)
The seed sprang up quickly but withered due to lack of moisture.

b) Lack of Root (Luke 8:13)
Without deep roots, faith cannot endure trials.

c) Temporary Commitment (John 6:66)
Some follow Christ briefly but fall away when challenged.

d) Need for Spiritual Depth (Colossians 2:6–7)
Being rooted and built up in Christ ensures stability.

Biblical Example: The Israelites rejoiced after crossing the Red Sea but quickly complained in the wilderness (Exodus 15:1, 24).

3. A DISTRACTED HEART IS UNFRUITFUL

Worldly cares and desires can choke the Word.

a) The Thorny Ground (Luke 8:7)
The seed was choked by thorns, representing distractions.

b) Cares of Life (Luke 8:14)
Worries and anxieties hinder spiritual growth.

c) Deceitfulness of Riches (Matthew 13:22)
Wealth and materialism can distract from spiritual priorities.

d) Pleasures of Life (1 John 2:15–16)
Love for the world competes with love for God.

Biblical Example: Demas forsook Paul because he loved the present world (2 Timothy 4:10).

4. A PREPARED HEART PRODUCES ABUNDANT HARVEST

A receptive heart receives, retains, and reproduces the Word.

a) The Good Soil (Luke 8:15)
An honest and good heart receives the Word with sincerity.

b) Retaining the Word (Joshua 1:8)
Meditating on God’s Word leads to success and fruitfulness.

c) Patience in Growth (Hebrews 6:12)
Fruitfulness requires patience and persistence.

d) Multiplication of Results (John 15:5)
Abiding in Christ produces much fruit.

Biblical Example: Isaac sowed in the land during famine and reaped a hundredfold because of obedience and faith (Genesis 26:12).

CONCLUSION

The parable of the sower reminds us that the Word of God is constant, but the results vary based on the condition of the heart. A hardened, shallow, or distracted heart cannot produce lasting fruit, but a prepared heart will yield an abundant harvest.

Examine your heart today. Remove every hindrance, cultivate spiritual depth, and remain focused on God. As you do, His Word will take root in your life and produce a harvest that brings glory to Him.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, prepare my heart to receive Your Word in Jesus name.

2. Lord, remove every hardness from my heart in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, help me to grow deep roots in Your Word in Jesus name.

4. Father, remove every distraction that chokes my spiritual growth in Jesus name.

5. Lord, help me to retain and meditate on Your Word daily in Jesus name.

6. Father, give me patience to allow Your Word to grow in my life in Jesus name.

7. Lord, make my heart fertile ground for abundant fruitfulness in Jesus name.

8. Father, let every seed of Your Word in my life produce results in Jesus name.

9. Lord, deliver me from worldly distractions and desires in Jesus name.

10. Father, let my life reflect a great harvest for Your glory in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. Your heart shall become good soil that produces abundant harvest.

2. Every hardness in your heart is broken by the power of God.

3. You shall grow deep roots in the Word of God and remain steadfast.

4. Every distraction in your life is removed.

5. You shall bear fruit that lasts and glorifies God.

6. The Word of God shall prosper in your life.

7. You shall not fall away in times of trial.

8. Your life shall yield a hundredfold harvest.

9. You shall walk in spiritual focus and discipline.

10. From today, your heart shall produce divine results beyond expectation.

THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS AND LOVE

THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS AND LOVE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 7:36-50

Key Verse: “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much…” — Luke 7:47

Supporting Texts: Matthew 18:21-35, Ephesians 4:32, 1 John 4:19, Colossians 3:13, Psalm 103:10-12

Description: Experiencing God’s forgiveness produces deep love, gratitude, and a transformed life.

INTRODUCTION

Forgiveness is one of the most powerful expressions of God’s grace. It is central to the Christian faith and reveals the depth of God’s love towards humanity. In a world filled with guilt, shame, and brokenness, forgiveness offers healing, restoration, and a fresh start.

In Luke 7:36-50, we see a contrast between a self-righteous Pharisee and a repentant woman. While the Pharisee offered Jesus formal hospitality, the woman demonstrated extravagant love, washing His feet with her tears and anointing them with perfume. Her actions were not driven by ritual but by a deep awareness of the forgiveness she had received.

This passage teaches that those who understand the depth of their forgiveness will express greater love. It challenges believers to move beyond religious formality into a genuine, heartfelt relationship with God marked by gratitude, humility, and love.

1. THE REALISATION OF FORGIVENESS PRODUCES LOVE

Understanding the depth of God’s forgiveness transforms the heart.

a) Awareness of Sin (Luke 7:37)
The woman recognised her sinful condition. Awareness of sin leads to genuine repentance.

b) Brokenness Before God (Psalm 51:17)
A broken and contrite heart is what God desires. True repentance begins with humility.

c) Gratitude for Mercy (1 John 4:19)
We love because He first loved us. Forgiveness awakens love in the heart.

d) Freedom from Condemnation (Romans 8:1)
Forgiveness removes guilt and restores peace with God.

Biblical Example: King David, after his sin, repented deeply and expressed heartfelt love and worship to God (Psalm 51).

2. LOVE EXPRESSED THROUGH ACTION PLEASES GOD

True love for God is demonstrated through tangible actions.

a) Extravagant Worship (Luke 7:38)
The woman poured out expensive perfume, showing sacrificial love.

b) Humility in Service (Luke 7:38)
She used her tears and hair to minister to Jesus, displaying deep humility.

c) Giving Your Best (Proverbs 3:9)
Honour the Lord with your substance and the best of what you have.

d) Wholehearted Devotion (Deuteronomy 6:5)
Love for God must involve all your heart, soul, and strength.

Biblical Example: Mary of Bethany anointed Jesus with costly ointment, demonstrating deep love and devotion (John 12:1-8).

3. SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS HINDERS LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

Pride and self-righteousness prevent people from experiencing and expressing true love.

a) Judging Others (Luke 7:39)
The Pharisee judged the woman instead of recognising his own need for grace.

b) Lack of Gratitude (Luke 7:44-46)
He failed to show basic hospitality because he did not value forgiveness.

c) Pride Blocks Grace (James 4:6)
God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

d) Blindness to One’s Own Need (Romans 3:23)
All have sinned and need God’s forgiveness.

Biblical Example: The elder brother in the parable of the prodigal son could not rejoice because of self-righteousness (Luke 15:25-30).

4. FORGIVENESS BRINGS RESTORATION AND PEACE

Receiving God’s forgiveness restores relationship and brings inner peace.

a) Assurance of Forgiveness (Luke 7:48)
Jesus declared her sins forgiven, giving her confidence and peace.

b) Salvation Through Faith (Luke 7:50)
Her faith saved her. Forgiveness is received by faith, not works.

c) Peace with God (Romans 5:1)
Justification brings peace and reconciliation with God.

d) A New Beginning (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Forgiveness leads to a transformed life and fresh start.

Biblical Example: The prodigal son was forgiven and restored by his father, receiving love and acceptance (Luke 15:20-24).

CONCLUSION

The power of forgiveness lies in its ability to transform hearts and produce genuine love. When you truly understand how much God has forgiven you, your response will be one of deep gratitude, humility, and devotion. Forgiveness is not just an act; it is a doorway to a new life of love and relationship with God.

Choose to embrace God’s forgiveness and extend that same grace to others. As you do, your life will be filled with peace, joy, and a love that reflects the heart of Christ. Those who are forgiven much will indeed love much.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, help me to understand the depth of Your forgiveness in my life in Jesus name.

2. Lord, give me a heart of genuine repentance and humility in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with love for God and others in Jesus name.

WHEN JESUS INTERRUPTS FUNERALS

WHEN JESUS INTERRUPTS FUNERALS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 7:11-17

Key Verse: “And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak…” — Luke 7:14-15

Supporting Texts: John 11:25-26, Isaiah 61:3, Psalm 30:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, Acts 9:36-42

Description: Jesus demonstrates His power to transform grief into joy and hopeless situations into testimonies.

INTRODUCTION

Funerals are often filled with sorrow, despair, and a sense of finality. They remind us of loss and the fragility of life. Yet the Gospel teaches that even in the darkest moments, Jesus can intervene and change the course of events. Luke 7:11-17 narrates a miraculous interruption; Jesus raises a widow’s son from the dead, turning mourning into joy.

This passage illustrates that Jesus’ power is not limited by circumstances. While others see hopelessness, Jesus sees opportunity for divine intervention. His presence changes atmospheres, brings restoration, and demonstrates God’s authority over life and death.

Believers are reminded that no situation is too grave for God. When Jesus steps into your “funeral moments”, the times of loss, disappointment, or despair; He brings life, hope, and restoration. The Lord’s interruptions are always purposeful and life-transforming.

1. JESUS SEES WHAT HUMANS CANNOT

Jesus perceives hope where others see despair.

a) Divine Awareness (Luke 7:12)
Jesus saw the widow and her dead son, understanding the depth of her loss. God’s vision penetrates beyond human observation.

b) Compassion Drives Intervention (Luke 7:13)
Jesus was moved with compassion, showing that God’s heart aligns with human suffering.

c) Recognising Opportunity in Crisis (Psalm 34:18)
God is near to the brokenhearted, even when circumstances seem final.

d) Spiritual Insight Over Human Limitation (Isaiah 55:8-9)
God’s understanding is higher than our understanding; He sees solutions we cannot.

Biblical Example: Jesus saw Lazarus’ situation differently than his sisters, declaring, “This sickness is not unto death” (John 11:4).

2. JESUS INTERRUPTS TO REVEAL HIS GLORY

Divine interruptions demonstrate God’s power and authority.

a) Breaking the Chains of Death (Luke 7:14-15)
The young man sat up, illustrating Jesus’ authority over life and death.

b) Manifestation of God’s Power (John 11:43-44)
Interruptions serve to glorify God and confirm His supremacy.

c) Inspiring Faith Through Miracles (Matthew 9:26)
Witnessing divine intervention strengthens faith in the Lord.

d) Revelation Through Action (Isaiah 61:1-3)
God often demonstrates His glory through acts that defy human expectation.

Biblical Example: Peter’s interruption in the death of Tabitha brought her back to life, glorifying God among the people (Acts 9:36-42).

3. JESUS BRINGS RESTORATION AND JOY

God’s interruptions are transformative, bringing life where there was death.

a) Restoration of Life (Luke 7:14)
Jesus restores the dead to life, symbolising hope and renewal.

b) Reversal of Despair (Psalm 30:11)
God can turn mourning into dancing, grief into joy.

c) Reassurance to the Faithful (John 11:25)
Jesus reminds believers that He is the resurrection and the life.

d) Joy That Impacts Community (Luke 7:16)
The miracle inspired awe and reverence among the people, spreading the joy of God’s intervention.

Biblical Example: Jairus’ daughter was restored to life by Jesus’ touch, bringing joy to her family and glorifying God (Mark 5:22-24, 35-43).

4. BELIEVERS MUST EXPECT DIVINE INTERRUPTIONS

Faith positions you to receive God’s miraculous interventions.

a) Expect the Unexpected (Luke 7:15)
God often acts in ways that surprise and surpass human expectation.

b) Prepare Your Heart for Miracles (Mark 11:24)
Faith opens the door for God to manifest His power.

c) Trust God’s Timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4)
Divine interruptions come at the perfect moment, not always when expected.

d) Respond With Praise and Awe (Luke 7:16)
Miracles demand acknowledgement, thanksgiving, and the spreading of God’s glory.

Biblical Example: The widow at Zarephath received provision during famine because she expected God’s intervention and acted in faith (1 Kings 17:8-16).

CONCLUSION

Jesus’ power to interrupt funerals reminds us that no situation is too grave for divine intervention. He sees beyond human limitations, acts out of compassion, and restores life and hope. Every “funeral moment” in your life can become an opportunity for God’s glory to be revealed.

Expect divine interruptions, cultivate unwavering faith, and prepare to testify of God’s transformative power. When Jesus steps into your life, mourning becomes joy, despair becomes hope, and impossibilities become testimonies.

GREAT FAITH THAT AMAZES GOD

GREAT FAITH THAT AMAZES GOD

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 7:1-10

Key Verse: “When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” — Luke 7:9

Supporting Texts: Matthew 8:5-13, Mark 5:34, Hebrews 11:6, James 1:6, Romans 4:20-21

Description: Extraordinary faith that trusts God beyond limits commands His attention and produces supernatural results.

INTRODUCTION

Faith is the currency of the Kingdom of God. It is the force that connects human need to divine provision. While ordinary faith achieves ordinary results, great faith moves God and causes Him to intervene in remarkable ways. In Luke 7:1-10, we see a Roman centurion whose faith astonished Jesus Himself, demonstrating that faith transcends nationality, status, and circumstance.

The centurion understood authority, both earthly and divine. He recognised that Jesus could command healing even from a distance, and he approached with humility, acknowledging his unworthiness. This teaches that faith is not just belief; it is trust in God’s power to act, regardless of human limitations.

This passage challenges believers to cultivate a faith that amazes God. Such faith is bold, humble, unwavering, and persistent. When God encounters it, supernatural breakthroughs are inevitable.

1. HUMBLE FAITH IS REMARKABLE

True faith is rooted in humility, not pride or entitlement.

a) Acknowledging Need (Luke 7:4-5)
The centurion sent elders to Jesus, admitting his servant’s helplessness. Humble recognition of need opens the door for divine intervention.

b) Understanding Authority (Luke 7:8)
He recognised Jesus’ spiritual authority to command healing, displaying wisdom and insight.

c) Dependence on God (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Humility aligns the heart to trust God rather than self-effort.

d) Honour Through Humility (James 4:6)
God gives grace to the humble; pride hinders favour.

Biblical Example: Moses interceded humbly for Israel despite their rebellion, and God responded to his faith (Exodus 32:11-14).

2. FAITH BELIEVES WITHOUT LIMITATION

Great faith trusts God beyond visible circumstances.

a) Trusting from a Distance (Luke 7:6-7)
The centurion believed Jesus could heal his servant without being physically present.

b) Overcoming Circumstantial Barriers (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith acts on promises, not conditions.

c) Expecting the Impossible (Mark 9:23)
Great faith refuses to be limited by logic or human reasoning.

d) Confidence in God’s Word (Romans 4:20-21)
Abraham’s faith rested fully on God’s promises, regardless of impossibilities.

Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood received healing simply by touching Jesus’ garment (Mark 5:25-34).

3. FAITH ACCOMPANIED BY HUMILITY AND OBEDIENCE BRINGS RESULTS

Faith must be paired with a submissive spirit and readiness to obey God.

a) Submitting to God’s Will (Luke 7:6-7)
The centurion acknowledged his unworthiness, demonstrating submission.

b) Acting in Alignment with God’s Authority (John 14:12)
Faith requires alignment with God’s power and principles.

c) Demonstrating Confidence Through Action (James 2:17)
Faith without action is dead; it must manifest in trust-filled steps.

d) Inspiring Divine Attention (Luke 7:9)
Faith that honours God in humility captures His attention and amazement.

Biblical Example: Peter stepped out of the boat in faith when Jesus called him to walk on water (Matthew 14:28-31).

4. FAITH THAT AMAZES GOD IS REWARDED SUPERNATURALLY

When faith exceeds human expectation, God responds with extraordinary results.

a) Immediate Response (Luke 7:10)
Jesus healed the servant at that very hour. Faith prompts swift divine action.

b) Divine Approval (Luke 7:9)
God marvels at faith that goes beyond superficial belief.

c) Expanding Influence (Matthew 8:13)
Faith impacts not only the believer but also others around them.

d) Eternal Significance (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith pleases God and unlocks eternal rewards beyond natural understanding.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s unwavering faith in God preserved him in the lions’ den and brought glory to God (Daniel 6:16-23).

CONCLUSION

Great faith is marked by humility, boldness, and unwavering trust in God’s power. Like the centurion, a believer who steps beyond human reasoning and places full confidence in Christ attracts divine attention and experiences supernatural breakthroughs.

Your faith today can open doors that seem impossible, command miracles, and bring God’s glory into your circumstances. Cultivate faith that amazes God, and watch Him respond in ways that leave you and others astonished.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, increase my faith to a level that amazes You in Jesus name.

2. Lord, help me to trust Your power beyond visible circumstances in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, teach me humility that honours God in all I do in Jesus name.

4. Father, let my faith be unwavering and bold in every situation in Jesus name.

5. Lord, help me act in obedience that aligns with Your authority in Jesus name.

6. Father, release divine intervention in response to my faith in Jesus name.

7. Lord, remove every limitation and doubt from my heart in Jesus name.

8. Father, let my faith open doors that no human can close in Jesus name.

9. Lord, give me confidence to trust Your Word above all else in Jesus name.

10. Father, let my life reflect a faith that draws Your marvel and glory in Jesus name.

5. You shall walk in boldness, trusting God beyond all limitations.

6. God shall marvel at your faith and reward you abundantly.

7. Your faith shall inspire others and bring glory to God.

8. You shall operate in unwavering trust and see impossible victories.

9. Every area of doubt shall be replaced by supernatural confidence in God.

10. From today, your life shall be a testimony of faith that amazes God.

BUILDING ON A SOLID FOUNDATION

BUILDING ON A SOLID FOUNDATION

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 6:46-49

Key Verse: “Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them… is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock.” — Luke 6:47-48

Supporting Texts: Matthew 7:24-27, James 1:22, Psalm 11:3, Proverbs 10:25, 1 Corinthians 3:11

Description: A life built on obedience to God’s Word stands firm against every storm and challenge.

INTRODUCTION

Life is full of uncertainties, challenges, and unexpected storms. Many people desire stability, yet not everyone experiences it. The difference between stability and collapse is often not visible on the surface, it lies in the foundation. Just as a building’s strength depends on its foundation, so also a believer’s life depends on what it is built upon.

In Luke 6:46-49, Jesus presents a powerful illustration of two builders: one who built on a solid foundation and another who built without one. Both structures may have looked similar initially, but when the storm came, the difference became evident. The one built on the rock stood firm, while the other collapsed.

This teaching emphasises that hearing God’s Word is not enough; obedience is what creates stability. A life grounded in obedience to God’s Word will withstand life’s storms and emerge stronger.

1. HEARING GOD’S WORD IS NOT ENOUGH

Listening to the Word without acting on it leads to instability.

a) The Danger of Mere Hearing (Luke 6:46)
Jesus questioned those who call Him Lord but do not obey. Hearing without doing is incomplete.

b) Self-Deception (James 1:22)
Being hearers only leads to deception. True faith is demonstrated through action.

c) Knowledge Without Application (Hosea 4:6)
Knowledge alone does not guarantee transformation.

d) Empty Profession (Matthew 15:8)
Honouring God with lips while the heart is far from Him leads to spiritual weakness.

Biblical Example: The Israelites heard God’s Word repeatedly but often failed to obey, resulting in cycles of defeat (Judges 2:10-15).

2. OBEDIENCE BUILDS A STRONG FOUNDATION

Acting on God’s Word establishes a firm and lasting foundation.

a) Digging Deep (Luke 6:48)
Building on the rock requires effort and intentionality. Spiritual depth does not happen by accident.

b) Foundation on the Rock (1 Corinthians 3:11)
Jesus Christ is the only true foundation for a stable life.

c) Consistent Obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
Blessings follow those who diligently obey God’s commands.

d) Stability Through Righteousness (Proverbs 10:25)
The righteous stand firm while the wicked are swept away.

Biblical Example: Noah obeyed God’s instruction to build the ark, and his obedience preserved his life during the flood (Genesis 6:13-22; 7:7).

3. STORMS WILL COME, BUT FOUNDATIONS DETERMINE OUTCOME

Challenges are inevitable, but your foundation determines your survival.

a) The Reality of Storms (Luke 6:48-49)
Both houses faced the same storm. Trials come to everyone.

b) Testing Reveals Strength (1 Peter 1:7)
Trials test and refine the quality of your faith.

c) Standing Firm in Crisis (Psalm 46:1-2)
God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble.

d) Collapse Without Foundation (Luke 6:49)
A life without obedience cannot withstand pressure.

Biblical Example: Paul endured many trials yet remained steadfast because his life was grounded in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:23-28).

4. A SOLID FOUNDATION GUARANTEES ENDURING STABILITY

A life built on Christ and His Word will stand the test of time.

a) Unshakable Life (Hebrews 12:28)
Receiving an unshakable kingdom produces stability.

b) Peace in the Midst of Storms (Isaiah 26:3)
Perfect peace comes to those whose minds are stayed on God.

c) Long-Term Security (Matthew 7:25)
The house built on the rock stood firm despite the storm.

d) Eternal Reward (Matthew 25:21)
Faithful obedience leads to lasting reward and approval.

Biblical Example: The wise builder in Jesus’ parable stood firm because his house was built on the rock (Matthew 7:24-25).

CONCLUSION

The foundation of your life determines your future. It is not enough to hear God’s Word; you must act on it. Obedience is the key to building a life that can withstand any storm and remain unshaken.

Make a decision today to build your life on the solid foundation of God’s Word. As you obey Him consistently, you will experience stability, strength, and victory in every area of your life.

8. Father, let my life reflect stability and strength in Jesus name.

9. Lord, guide me to make decisions that align with Your Word in Jesus name.

10. Father, let my obedience produce lasting results in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

THE POWER OF KINGDOM VALUES

THE POWER OF KINGDOM VALUES

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 6:20-38

Key Verse: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom…” — Luke 6:38

Supporting Texts: Matthew 5:1-12, Galatians 6:7, Proverbs 11:25, James 2:13, Philippians 2:3-4

Description: Living according to God’s kingdom principles unlocks divine blessings, favour, and lasting rewards.

INTRODUCTION

The Kingdom of God operates on principles that often contrast with the systems of the world. While the world promotes self-interest, pride, and retaliation, the Kingdom emphasises humility, generosity, love, and forgiveness. These values may seem countercultural, but they carry divine power and produce lasting rewards.

In Luke 6:20-38, Jesus outlines key kingdom values through teachings on blessings, love for enemies, mercy, and giving. He presents a lifestyle that goes beyond external religion and focuses on the condition of the heart. These teachings are not suggestions but principles that govern life in God’s Kingdom.

Understanding and applying these values positions believers for divine intervention and reward. When we align with God’s ways, we experience His blessings in ways that surpass human understanding. Kingdom values are not just moral ideals—they are spiritual laws that produce tangible results.

1. KINGDOM VALUES REDEFINE TRUE BLESSING

God’s definition of blessing differs from worldly standards.

a) Blessed Are the Humble (Luke 6:20)
The poor in spirit are blessed because they depend on God. True blessing begins with humility.

b) Blessing in Trials (Luke 6:21-22)
Those who hunger, weep, and are persecuted for righteousness are promised divine reward.

c) Eternal Perspective (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
Temporary afflictions produce eternal glory. Kingdom blessings are often long-term.

d) Warning Against Worldly Comfort (Luke 6:24-25)
Those who rely solely on earthly riches may miss eternal rewards.

Biblical Example: Job endured suffering yet remained faithful, and God restored him with greater blessings (Job 42:10-12).

2. LOVE AND MERCY ARE CENTRAL TO THE KINGDOM

The Kingdom of God is built on love, even towards enemies.

a) Love Your Enemies (Luke 6:27)
Kingdom love extends beyond friends to include adversaries.

b) Do Good Without Expectation (Luke 6:35)
True love gives without expecting anything in return.

c) Be Merciful (Luke 6:36)
Believers are called to reflect God’s mercy in their dealings with others.

d) Forgiveness Brings Freedom (Luke 6:37)
Forgiving others opens the door for God’s forgiveness.

Biblical Example: Stephen prayed for those who were stoning him, demonstrating Christ-like mercy (Acts 7:59-60).

3. GIVING ACTIVATES DIVINE RETURN

Generosity is a powerful principle that triggers supernatural provision.

a) The Law of Giving (Luke 6:38)
Giving results in receiving in abundance.

b) Sowing and Reaping (Galatians 6:7)
What you sow determines what you reap.

c) Generosity Leads to Increase (Proverbs 11:25)
Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

d) Giving from the Heart (2 Corinthians 9:7)
God loves a cheerful giver.

Biblical Example: The widow of Zarephath gave to Elijah in her time of need and experienced supernatural provision (1 Kings 17:8-16).

4. KINGDOM VALUES DETERMINE YOUR MEASURE OF RETURN

The way you treat others influences how you are treated.

a) The Measure You Give (Luke 6:38)
The same measure you use will be measured back to you.

b) Judgement and Mercy (James 2:13)
Mercy triumphs over judgement.

c) Treat Others as You Want to Be Treated (Luke 6:31)
The golden rule governs kingdom relationships.

d) Humility Brings Honour (Philippians 2:3-4)
Esteeming others above yourself attracts divine favour.

Biblical Example: Boaz showed kindness to Ruth, and his actions led to divine favour and blessing (Ruth 2:8-12).

CONCLUSION

Kingdom values are not optional; they are essential for every believer who desires to experience God’s best. They may seem challenging, but they carry the power to transform lives and produce divine rewards. When you live according to these principles, you align yourself with God’s system of blessing.

Choose to embrace humility, love, mercy, and generosity. As you do, you will experience a life marked by divine favour, supernatural provision, and eternal rewards. The power of kingdom values will distinguish your life and bring glory to God.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, help me to live according to Your kingdom values in Jesus name.

2. Lord, give me a heart of humility and dependence on You in Jesus name.

3. You shall receive abundant blessings as you give generously.

4. Every seed you sow shall produce a great harvest.

5. You shall be treated with favour as you treat others with kindness.

THE LORD OF THE SABBATH

THE LORD OF THE SABBATH

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 6:1-11

Key Verse: “And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Luke 6:5

Supporting Texts: Matthew 12:1-12, Mark 2:27-28, Hosea 6:6, Colossians 2:16-17, Hebrews 4:9-10

Description: Jesus reveals that mercy, compassion, and human need take precedence over rigid religious observance.

INTRODUCTION

The Sabbath was instituted by God as a day of rest and worship, a sacred ordinance meant to benefit humanity. However, over time, religious leaders added rigid rules and traditions that turned it into a burden rather than a blessing. What was meant to bring life became a system of legalism that prioritised ritual over compassion.

In Luke 6:1-11, Jesus confronted this distortion by demonstrating that the true essence of the Sabbath is not about strict adherence to rules but about reflecting God’s heart of mercy. When His disciples plucked grain on the Sabbath and when He healed a man with a withered hand, the Pharisees reacted with criticism. Yet, Jesus responded by revealing His authority as Lord of the Sabbath.

This passage challenges believers to examine their understanding of worship and obedience. It calls us to prioritise mercy, compassion, and love over empty religious rituals, aligning our lives with the true heart of God.

1. JESUS IS LORD OVER RELIGIOUS SYSTEMS

Jesus has authority over all traditions and institutions, including the Sabbath.

a) Declaring His Authority (Luke 6:5)
Jesus affirmed that He is Lord of the Sabbath. His authority supersedes human traditions.

b) The Sabbath Was Made for Man (Mark 2:27)
The Sabbath was created to serve humanity, not to enslave it.

c) Christ Above Legalism (Colossians 2:16-17)
Ritual observances are shadows; Christ is the substance.

d) God’s Authority Is Supreme (Psalm 103:19)
God’s rule overrides all human regulations.

Biblical Example: David ate the consecrated bread when he was hungry, showing that human need can supersede ritual law (1 Samuel 21:1-6).

2. MERCY IS GREATER THAN RITUAL

God values compassion and love above strict rule-keeping.

a) God Desires Mercy (Hosea 6:6)
God prefers mercy over sacrifice. Compassion reflects His nature.

b) Meeting Human Needs (Luke 6:3-4)
Jesus defended His disciples because their actions met a genuine need.

c) Compassion Reflects God’s Heart (Psalm 145:8-9)
God is gracious and full of compassion.

d) Love Fulfils the Law (Romans 13:10)
When we walk in love, we fulfil God’s commandments.

Biblical Example: The Good Samaritan showed mercy to a wounded man, fulfilling God’s law of love (Luke 10:30-37).

3. DOING GOOD SHOULD NEVER BE DELAYED

Opportunities to show kindness and help others should not be postponed.

a) A Question of Purpose (Luke 6:9)
Jesus asked whether it is lawful to do good or evil on the Sabbath. Doing good is always right.

b) Immediate Action (Luke 6:10)
Jesus healed the man instantly. Compassion does not wait.

c) Seizing Opportunities (Galatians 6:10)
As we have opportunity, we should do good to all people.

d) Faith Expressed Through Action (James 2:15-17)
True faith is demonstrated through acts of kindness.

Biblical Example: Jesus healed the crippled woman on the Sabbath, showing that acts of mercy are always appropriate (Luke 13:10-13).

4. LEGALISM CAN BLIND THE HEART

Rigid adherence to rules can hinder spiritual understanding and compassion.

a) The Pharisees’ Hardness (Luke 6:7)
They watched Jesus to accuse Him, revealing a hardened heart.

b) Anger at Good Works (Luke 6:11)
Instead of rejoicing, they were filled with rage. Legalism distorts perception.

c) Missing God’s Move (Matthew 23:23)
They neglected justice, mercy, and faith while focusing on minor details.

d) A Call to True Worship (John 4:23-24)
God seeks worshippers who worship in spirit and truth.

Biblical Example: The elder brother in the prodigal son story valued fairness over mercy, missing the father’s heart (Luke 15:25-32).

CONCLUSION

Jesus, as Lord of the Sabbath, calls us to a higher understanding of worship—one that prioritises mercy, compassion, and love. True spirituality is not measured by rigid adherence to rules but by how well we reflect the heart of God in our actions.

As you walk with Christ, let mercy guide your decisions. Choose compassion over criticism, love over legalism, and action over delay. In doing so, you will truly honour the Lord of the Sabbath and reflect His nature to the world.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, help me to prioritise mercy over ritual in my life in Jesus name.

2. Lord, deliver me from every spirit of legalism in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with compassion for others in Jesus name.

4. Father, teach me to reflect Your love in all my actions in Jesus name.

5. Lord, give me the wisdom to do what is right at all times in Jesus name.

6. Father, remove every hardness of heart from my life in Jesus name.

7. Lord, help me to seize every opportunity to do good in Jesus name.

8. Father, align my life with Your truth and purpose in Jesus name.

9. Lord, let my worship be acceptable before You in Jesus name.

10. Father, make me a vessel of love, mercy, and grace in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall walk in the wisdom of God and prioritise mercy in all things.

2. Every spirit of legalism in your life is broken.

3. You shall reflect the compassion and love of Christ daily.

4. Your heart shall be tender and responsive to God’s will.

5. You shall not miss opportunities to do good.

6. Your life shall be a testimony of God’s mercy and grace.

7. You shall walk in true worship in spirit and truth.

8. Every hardness of heart is removed from your life.

9. You shall align with God’s purpose and reflect His nature.

10. From today, you shall honour the Lord of the Sabbath in all you do.

NEW WINE IN NEW WINESKINS

NEW WINE IN NEW WINESKINS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 5:36-39

Key Verse: “And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.” — Luke 5:37

Supporting Texts: Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Isaiah 43:18-19, Ephesians 4:22-24, Hebrews 8:13

Description: Receiving what God is doing requires inner renewal, flexibility, and a willingness to let go of old patterns.

INTRODUCTION

God is a God of new things. Throughout Scripture, He continually reveals new dimensions of His power, purpose, and glory. However, one of the greatest challenges believers face is not God’s ability to do new things, but their readiness to receive them. Many desire new blessings while still holding on to old mindsets and patterns.

In Luke 5:36–39, Jesus used the illustration of new wine and old wineskins to teach a profound truth. New wine requires new wineskins because the fermentation process causes expansion. Old wineskins, being rigid and brittle, cannot accommodate this change. This analogy highlights the necessity of renewal in order to contain what God is doing.

This message is a call to spiritual transformation. If we are to experience the fullness of God’s new move, we must be willing to change, grow, and align ourselves with His will. Without renewal, we risk losing what God intends to pour into our lives.

1. GOD IS ALWAYS DOING A NEW THING

God’s nature is dynamic, and He continually moves in fresh ways.

a) A God of New Beginnings (Isaiah 43:19)
God declares that He is doing a new thing. He is not limited to past methods.

b) Fresh Moves of the Spirit (Acts 2:17)
God pours out His Spirit in new dimensions across generations.

c) Continuous Revelation (Proverbs 4:18)
The path of the righteous shines brighter, indicating progressive revelation.

d) New Seasons Require New Responses (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Each season demands a different approach and alignment.

Biblical Example: The shift from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant through Christ required a new understanding and relationship with God (Hebrews 8:6-13).

2. OLD WINESKINS REPRESENT LIMITING MINDSETS

Old wineskins symbolise outdated attitudes, habits, and beliefs that hinder growth.

a) Resistance to Change (Luke 5:39)
Many prefer the old because it is familiar, even when God is doing something new.

b) Tradition Over Truth (Mark 7:8)
Holding on to human traditions can limit the work of God.

c) Spiritual Stagnation (Hebrews 5:12)
Refusing to grow leads to immaturity and inability to receive deeper truths.

d) Unrenewed Mind (Romans 12:2)
Without transformation of the mind, new things cannot be sustained.

Biblical Example: The Pharisees rejected Jesus because they clung to old traditions and could not accept the new move of God (John 5:39-40).

3. NEW WINESKINS REQUIRE INNER RENEWAL

To receive God’s new move, there must be a transformation within.

a) Renewal of the Mind (Romans 12:2)
Transformation begins with a renewed way of thinking aligned with God’s Word.

b) Putting on the New Man (Ephesians 4:22-24)
Believers must put off the old self and embrace a new nature in Christ.

c) Yielding to the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25)
Walking in the Spirit ensures continuous renewal and growth.

d) Letting Go of the Past (Philippians 3:13)
Moving forward requires releasing past experiences and limitations.

Biblical Example: Saul became Paul after his encounter with Christ, demonstrating a complete transformation that enabled him to fulfil his new assignment (Acts 9:1-6).

4. PREPARED VESSELS PRESERVE AND SUSTAIN THE NEW

God entrusts new things to those who are prepared to handle them.

a) Capacity Determines Retention (Luke 5:37-38)
Only new wineskins can hold new wine without loss. Capacity matters.

b) Growth Enables Expansion (2 Peter 3:18)
Spiritual growth increases the ability to handle greater responsibility.

c) Stewardship of God’s Blessings (1 Corinthians 4:2)
Faithfulness is required to sustain what God gives.

d) Walking in Alignment (Amos 3:3)
Agreement with God ensures continuity of His work in your life.

Biblical Example: The disciples, after being renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit, were able to carry and sustain the gospel message effectively (Acts 2:1-4).

CONCLUSION

God is ready to pour new wine into your life, new blessings, new opportunities, and new dimensions of His power. However, the question is whether you are prepared to receive it. Old mindsets, habits, and attitudes must be replaced with renewed thinking and spiritual growth.

Make a decision today to become a new wineskin. Embrace change, yield to the Holy Spirit, and align with God’s will. As you do, you will not only receive what God is doing but also sustain and multiply it for His glory.

FAITH THAT BREAKS ROOFS

FAITH THAT BREAKS ROOFS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 5:17-26

Key Verse: “And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.” — Luke 5:20

Supporting Texts: Mark 2:1-12, Hebrews 11:6, James 2:17, Matthew 17:20, Isaiah 43:19

Description: Persistent and determined faith overcomes obstacles and attracts divine intervention.

INTRODUCTION

Faith is one of the most powerful forces in the life of a believer. It is the channel through which we access God’s promises and experience His power. However, not all faith is passive—there is a kind of faith that is bold, persistent, and unwilling to be denied. This is the faith that produces extraordinary miracles.

In Luke 5:17-26, we see a remarkable demonstration of such faith. A group of men, determined to see their paralysed friend healed, refused to be hindered by the crowd. Instead, they broke through the roof and lowered him before Jesus. Their actions showed a level of faith that went beyond words; it was practical, determined, and unstoppable.

This passage teaches us that when faith is combined with determination, it can overcome any obstacle. True faith does not give up easily; it presses through barriers until it receives what God has promised.

1. TRUE FAITH IS DETERMINED AND PERSISTENT

Genuine faith does not give up in the face of obstacles.

a) Refusing to Be Discouraged (Luke 5:19)
The men could not enter because of the crowd, yet they refused to turn back. Determined faith finds another way.

b) Pressing Beyond Barriers (Hebrews 10:36)
Patience and endurance are required to obtain God’s promises.

c) Faith That Acts (James 2:17)
Faith without works is dead. Their faith was demonstrated through action.

d) Expectation of Results (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is the substance of things hoped for. They believed something would happen.

Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood pressed through the crowd to touch Jesus and was healed (Mark 5:25-34).

2. FAITH OVERCOMES OBSTACLES

Every genuine act of faith will face opposition, but faith breaks through limitations.

a) The Crowd Could Not Stop Them (Luke 5:19)
Obstacles are inevitable, but they are not insurmountable.

b) Creative Faith Finds Solutions (Luke 5:19)
They opened the roof and made a way. Faith is innovative and solution-driven.

c) Obstacles Test Your Resolve (1 Peter 1:7)
Trials refine faith and make it stronger.

d) God Makes a Way (Isaiah 43:19)
Where there seems to be no way, God creates one.

Biblical Example: Bartimaeus cried out persistently despite opposition and received his sight (Mark 10:46-52).

3. CORPORATE FAITH CAN PRODUCE MIRACLES

Faith is not only personal; it can be strengthened through collective agreement.

a) “When He Saw Their Faith” (Luke 5:20)
Jesus responded to the combined faith of the group.

b) Power of Agreement (Matthew 18:19)
When two or more agree, God responds.

c) Supporting One Another (Galatians 6:2)
Bearing one another’s burdens strengthens faith.

d) Encouragement in Faith (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Fellowship builds and sustains faith.

Biblical Example: The early church prayed together for Peter, leading to his miraculous release from prison (Acts 12:5-11).

4. FAITH ATTRACTS DIVINE INTERVENTION AND TRANSFORMATION

When faith is exercised, God responds with power and transformation.

a) Forgiveness and Healing (Luke 5:20, 24)
Jesus forgave the man’s sins and healed him. Faith brings total restoration.

b) Immediate Results (Luke 5:25)
The man rose up immediately, showing the power of divine intervention.

c) Public Testimony (Luke 5:26)
The miracle caused amazement and glorified God.

d) A New Beginning (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Faith leads to transformation and a new life.

Biblical Example: Jairus’ faith resulted in the resurrection of his daughter, demonstrating God’s power over impossibilities (Luke 8:41-56).

CONCLUSION

Faith that breaks roofs is not ordinary faith: it is bold, persistent, and action-driven. It refuses to be limited by circumstances and presses through every barrier to reach Jesus. This kind of faith attracts divine attention and produces undeniable miracles.

As you walk with God, develop a faith that does not give up. Be determined, be persistent, and be willing to act. When your faith is active and unwavering, no obstacle will be able to stop your miracle.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, increase my faith to overcome every obstacle in Jesus name.

2. Lord, give me determination to pursue my miracle without giving up in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, strengthen my faith to act boldly in Jesus name.

4. Father, remove every barrier standing between me and my breakthrough in Jesus name.

5. Lord, connect me with people who will strengthen my faith in Jesus name.

6. Father, let my faith attract divine intervention in Jesus name.

7. Lord, grant me creative ideas to overcome challenges in Jesus name.

8. Father, let every impossible situation in my life become possible in Jesus name.

9. Lord, let my testimony bring glory to Your name in Jesus name.

10. Father, establish me in unwavering and victorious faith in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall walk in a faith that overcomes every obstacle in your life.

2. Every barrier before you is broken by the power of God.

3. You shall receive your miracle as you exercise determined faith.

4. Your faith shall produce visible and undeniable results.

5. You shall not be discouraged; you shall press through to victory.

6. Divine intervention shall locate you in every area of need.

7. You shall experience total restoration in your life.

8. Your life shall be a testimony of God’s power and faithfulness.

9. You shall rise above every limitation and walk in victory.

10. From today, your faith shall break every barrier and bring your breakthrough.

THE CALL TO FOLLOW JESUS

THE CALL TO FOLLOW JESUS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 5:27-32

Key Verse: “And he left all, rose up, and followed him.” — Luke 5:28

Supporting Texts: Matthew 16:24, Philippians 3:7-8, Hebrews 12:1, John 12:26, Mark 8:34

Description: Following Jesus demands total commitment, sacrifice, and a willingness to leave behind anything that hinders true discipleship.

INTRODUCTION

The call to follow Jesus is one of the most profound invitations in Scripture. It is not merely a call to belief but a call to transformation, commitment, and a new way of life. Many admire Jesus, but not everyone is willing to follow Him fully. True discipleship requires more than words, it demands action and surrender.

In Luke 5:27–32, Jesus called Levi, a tax collector, to follow Him. Without hesitation, Levi left everything behind his profession, his income, and his former lifestyle, to follow Christ. This act demonstrates that following Jesus often requires letting go of what is familiar and comfortable.

Understanding the cost and commitment of following Jesus helps believers align their lives with His will. It is a call to prioritise Christ above all else, trusting that what is gained in Him far outweighs what is left behind.

1. THE CALL OF JESUS IS PERSONAL AND DIRECT

Jesus calls individuals personally and intentionally.

a) Jesus Sees You Where You Are (Luke 5:27)
Jesus saw Levi at the tax office. God meets us in our current state and location.

b) The Call Is Clear (Luke 5:27)
“Follow me” was a simple yet powerful command. God’s call is often straightforward.

c) No One Is Excluded (1 Timothy 1:15)
Levi was a tax collector, yet he was chosen. God calls all, regardless of background.

d) The Call Requires a Response (Revelation 3:20)
Jesus calls, but we must respond willingly.

Biblical Example: Jesus called Peter and Andrew while they were fishing, and they immediately followed Him (Matthew 4:18-20).

2. FOLLOWING JESUS REQUIRES SACRIFICE

Discipleship demands letting go of certain things to fully embrace Christ.

a) Leaving All Behind (Luke 5:28)
Levi left everything. True following requires total surrender.

b) Denying Self (Matthew 16:24)
Taking up your cross involves self-denial and submission to God’s will.

c) Letting Go of Worldly Gain (Philippians 3:7-8)
What was once considered gain becomes loss for Christ’s sake.

d) Removing Hindrances (Hebrews 12:1)
We must lay aside every weight that slows us down spiritually.

Biblical Example: The rich young ruler struggled to follow Jesus because he could not let go of his possessions (Luke 18:22-23).

3. FOLLOWING JESUS BRINGS TRANSFORMATION

When you follow Jesus, your life is changed from the inside out.

a) A New Identity (2 Corinthians 5:17)
In Christ, old things pass away, and all things become new.

b) A New Purpose (John 12:26)
Following Jesus aligns you with divine purpose and service.

c) A New Lifestyle (Romans 12:2)
Transformation comes through renewal of the mind.

d) A Life of Righteousness (Titus 2:11-12)
Grace teaches us to live godly and upright lives.

Biblical Example: Levi (Matthew) became a disciple and later wrote the Gospel of Matthew, demonstrating total transformation (Matthew 9:9).

4. FOLLOWING JESUS POSITIONS YOU TO IMPACT OTHERS

True discipleship extends beyond personal transformation to influencing others.

a) Bringing Others to Christ (Luke 5:29)
Levi hosted a feast, introducing others to Jesus.

b) Living as a Witness (Matthew 5:16)
Your life becomes a testimony that draws others to God.

c) Reaching the Lost (Luke 5:31-32)
Jesus came for sinners. Followers must carry the same mission.

d) Serving with Purpose (Mark 10:45)
Following Jesus involves serving others selflessly.

Biblical Example: The Samaritan woman, after encountering Jesus, brought many in her city to Him (John 4:28-30, 39).

CONCLUSION

The call to follow Jesus is a call to total surrender, transformation, and purpose. It requires leaving behind anything that competes with your devotion to Him. Though the cost may seem high, the reward of following Christ is far greater and eternal.

As you respond to His call, choose to prioritise Him above all else. Let go of what holds you back and embrace the life He offers. In following Jesus, you will discover true fulfilment, purpose, and the privilege of impacting others for His glory.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, give me the grace to respond fully to Your call in Jesus name.

2. Lord, help me to let go of everything that hinders my walk with You in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, strengthen me to follow Jesus wholeheartedly in Jesus name.

4. Father, remove every distraction that competes with my devotion to You in Jesus name.

5. Lord, transform my life as I follow You daily in Jesus name.

6. Father, help me to deny myself and take up my cross in Jesus name.

7. Lord, align my life with Your purpose and will in Jesus name.

8. Father, use my life to bring others to Christ in Jesus name.

9. Lord, give me a heart of service and commitment in Jesus name.

10. Father, let my life reflect true discipleship in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall respond to the call of Jesus without hesitation.

2. You shall receive the grace to let go of everything that hinders your walk with God.

3. Your life shall be transformed as you follow Christ faithfully.

4. You shall walk in divine purpose and fulfil your destiny.

5. Every distraction in your life is removed by the power of God.

6. You shall live a life of total surrender and obedience.

7. Your life shall attract others to Christ.

8. You shall serve God with passion and commitment.

9. You shall not miss your divine calling.

10. From today, you shall walk in the fullness of discipleship and purpose.

FROM EMPTY NETS TO OVERFLOW

FROM EMPTY NETS TO OVERFLOW

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Luke 5:1-7

Key Verse: “Nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” — Luke 5:5

Supporting Texts: Psalm 1:3, Deuteronomy 28:1-2, Ecclesiastes 11:6, John 2:5, 2 Kings 4:1-7

Description: Obedience to divine instruction transforms emptiness into supernatural abundance.

INTRODUCTION

There are seasons in life when efforts seem fruitless despite hard work and experience. Like Peter and his companions, many believers labour tirelessly yet experience empty nets; no results, no breakthroughs, and no visible progress. These moments can be discouraging and may even tempt one to give up.

In Luke 5:1-7, we encounter a powerful story of transformation. After a long night of unsuccessful fishing, Jesus instructed Peter to launch out into the deep and let down his nets again. Though it seemed illogical, Peter obeyed, and the result was a miraculous catch that exceeded expectations. This encounter demonstrates that divine instruction can override human experience.

Understanding the power of obedience is key to moving from lack to abundance. When God speaks and we respond in faith, He turns emptiness into overflow. What human effort cannot achieve, divine direction can accomplish in a moment.

1. EMPTY NETS ARE NOT THE END OF THE STORY

Seasons of lack and disappointment do not define your destiny.

a) Effort Without Results (Luke 5:5)
Peter toiled all night and caught nothing. Sometimes, human effort alone yields no results.

b) God Allows Seasons of Emptiness (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
There is a time for every purpose. Seasons of lack can prepare us for divine intervention.

c) Emptiness Creates Hunger for God (Psalm 107:9)
God fills the hungry soul. Emptiness often drives us to seek Him more deeply.

d) Do Not Give Up Too Soon (Galatians 6:9)
In due season, you will reap if you do not faint. Persistence is essential.

Biblical Example: Hannah experienced years of barrenness before God intervened and gave her Samuel (1 Samuel 1:10-20).

2. DIVINE INSTRUCTION OVERRIDES HUMAN EXPERIENCE

God’s Word can contradict human logic but always produces results.

a) God Speaks into Situations (Luke 5:4)
Jesus gave a specific instruction: launch out into the deep. Divine direction addresses specific needs.

b) Obedience Despite Doubt (Luke 5:5)
Peter acknowledged his experience but chose to obey Christ’s Word.

c) Faith in God’s Word (John 2:5)
“Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” Obedience activates miracles.

d) God’s Ways Are Higher (Isaiah 55:8-9)
God’s instructions may not make sense, but they are always right.

Biblical Example: Naaman obeyed the prophet’s unusual instruction to dip in the Jordan and was healed (2 Kings 5:10-14).

3. OBEDIENCE PRODUCES SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE

When God’s instructions are followed, extraordinary results follow.

a) Immediate Results (Luke 5:6)
The nets were filled instantly after obedience. God’s power produces swift results.

b) Overflow Beyond Capacity (Luke 5:6-7)
The catch was so great that the nets began to break and required help.

c) Blessings Extend to Others (Luke 5:7)
Partners were called to share in the abundance. God’s blessings are never limited.

d) From Lack to Plenty (Psalm 23:1)
The Lord is our shepherd; we shall not want. God turns lack into sufficiency.

Biblical Example: The widow’s oil multiplied through obedience, filling many vessels and ending her lack (2 Kings 4:1-7).

4. ENCOUNTERS WITH JESUS TRANSFORM DESTINY

Divine encounters do more than provide blessings, they change lives permanently.

a) Recognition of Divine Power (Luke 5:8)
Peter fell at Jesus’ feet, acknowledging His lordship. Encounters reveal God’s greatness.

b) Humility Before God (Luke 5:8)
Peter recognised his unworthiness. True encounters produce humility.

c) A Call to Higher Purpose (Luke 5:10)
Jesus called Peter to become a fisher of men. Blessings lead to assignment.

d) Leaving the Old Behind (Luke 5:11)
They forsook all and followed Him. True encounters bring life transformation.

Biblical Example: Saul’s encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus transformed him into Paul, a great apostle (Acts 9:1-6).

CONCLUSION

Empty nets are not permanent when Jesus is involved. What you could not achieve through effort alone, God can accomplish through one instruction. The key is obedience; trusting and acting on God’s Word even when it seems contrary to human understanding.

As you listen for God’s voice and respond in faith, your emptiness will turn into overflow. Remain obedient, stay expectant, and be ready for divine encounters that will transform your life and destiny.

8. Father, connect me with destiny helpers who will share in my overflow in Jesus name.

9. Lord, transform my life through divine encounters in Jesus name.

10. Father, let my testimony bring glory to Your name in Jesus name.
