Topic: TAKE OFF THAT GARMENT

Text: Genesis 39:12-13

People can know your identity the way you are dressed. That’s why they say dress the way you want to be addressed. The garments may be beautiful but they are not met for you.

Garments are raiment or dresses that serve the purpose of covering a man’s nakedness. After the fall in the Garden of Eden, God used the skin of animals to cover Adam and Eve rather than fig trees.

Garments are very significant in the lives and destinies of people, both in the spiritual and physical realms.

There are different garments. There are different garments and different sizes.

- There are Wedding Garments.

- There are Graduation Garments.

- There are professional garments. And once you see them you can recognize them lawyers, Doctors, Engineers, nurses, etc.

- There are Royal Garments. When you see a King he doesn’t need any introduction.

- There are Cooperate Garments.

- There are Prisoner Garments - Some are wearing prisoner garments without knowing but today you will put it off.

- There are Domestic Garments - You wear this when you are at home.

- There are Crazy Garments - These garments are met for those who are insane.

Friends, Dress the way you want to be addressed.

The garment that you are wearing in the spiritual realm determines what happens to your life in the physical realm. If you are wearing good garment, good things will be pursuing you and if you are wearing an evil garment then bad things will be happening in your life.

There are people who are wearing beautiful garments in the physical realm but in the spirit realm they are wearing garments of rejection, ugliness, condemnation, widowhood, sorrow, stagnancy, and bad luck, shame, disgrace, ridicule, poverty, hatred, backwardness, retardation, trouble, sickness, infirmity, and untimely death. These are evil garments that disturb favour and blessings in one’s life.

When you put on an evil garment, it will invite trouble into your life. The struggle of many could be as a result of evil garment. When you pray in an evil garment, it distorts the flow of your prayers.

REPRESENTATIONS OF GARMENTS:

1. Garments impart identity

2. Garments define authority

3. Garments confer opportunity

4. There is a way you are dressed that will either open or close your doors

5. Garments reveal prosperity

6. Garments also reveal adversity.

Mark 10:50. Blind Bartimaeus put off the garment of begging and wore a new garment when he encountered JESUS.

Focusing on Joseph in the Bible.;

Gen 37:31. Jacob, his father gave him a designer garment and the Bible called that garment a coat of many colors, and that made him his father's favorite. His brothers took off the garment from him and sold Him into slavery.

Mr. Potiphar bought Joseph over and Joseph put on a slavery garment.

Gen 39:12-13. Joseph later put off that garment because he refused to sin with his master wife and he was sent to the prison and put on a prison garment.

Gen 41:14. Pharaoh sent for Joseph after he had a dream then Joseph put on a prison garment and he put on a new garment.

He later wore a ROYAL GARMENT.

THE GARMENT JOSHUA WORE

Instead of garments of purple and gold meant to cover the priest (Ex. 28: 4 – 5), Joshua the High Priest was covered with filthy ones as seen in Zech. 3:3. As ordained people of God also (Jn. 15:16), we may find ourselves enveloped by unpleasant coverings sometimes. These coverings disallow us from attaining our full potential in God’s agenda of the new birth provided for us by the Lord Jesus Christ.

In that passage Zech. 3 v 1 – 4

Joshua the High Priest could not maximize his priestly potential because of the filthy garment.

The filthy garment facilitated attacks when he was to do well.

Until God came to his rescue de-robing him of the former filthy garment and adorning him with new garments, then he started manifesting goodness.

In Mark 10 v 46 – 52 – When Blind Bartimaeus encountered Jesus and was to be healed, verse 50 says that he cast away his garment….

That garment was an identity for blind people in those days. I prophesy into your situation today that, that garment of identification for evil, retrogression, delay, and backwardness in the realm of the spirit be roasted in Jesus name.

Garments show the status of the one wearing them – social, religious, economic, educational, occupational or even emotional.

Because of the activities of Satan and his agents, the lives of some people are tampered with through the filthy garment. When someone is made to wear the wrong side of a dress through evil manipulation, every progress that should normally be made in the physical realm is reversed. Such people end up living the right opposite of the life meant for them by God. BUT, praise God that the Believer in Christ Jesus can escape such traps through the intervention of Heaven and thus, a replacement of such filthy garments can be effected.

1 Garments of shame and reproach (2 Samuel 13:19; Ezra 9:5-6)

2 Garments of wretchedness and poverty (Job 13:28; Josh. 9:5; James 5:1-3)

3 Garments of disease and affliction (Job 30:18; Mark 10:50)

4 Garments of sorrow and depression (Ps. 69:10-11; Gen 37:34; Job 16:15-16; Ps. 35:13, 30:11)

5 Garments of widowhood (Gen. 38:14,19; 1Kings 17:8-10)

6 Garments of captivity and imprisonment (2Kings 25:29; Gen. 41:14)

7 Garments of filthiness and impurity (Gen. 35:2; Rev. 3:4)

WHAT TO DO TO DESTROY EVIL GARMENTS:

1 By the discovery or revelation of the garment (Zech. 3:1-5)

2 By the decree of the Most High (Zech. 3:1-5; Rev. 1:6; 1Pet. 2:9)

3 By the deployment of the fire (Zech. 3:1-5; Lev. 13:51-52, 57)

4 By making demands on the robe of righteousness (Job 29:14; Isa. 61:10)

God’s standard on garments has not changed. Joseph’s coat of many colours foretold his glorious destiny. (Gen 37:3). We also have it that Joseph’s prison garments were later changed to royal garments (Gen 41:14). Another is blind Bartimaeus’s beggarly garment which he cast off to receive his healing and restoration. (Mark 10:46-52).

In Gen 3:21, it was clear to us that Adam and Eve were clothed with shame and they made inadequate garments of leaves to cover themselves. God gave the proper garment (animal skin) which contained blood to atone for their sins and cover them. Without blood, there can be no atonement of sins. They thought they needed a physical covering to cover their nakedness but what they needed most was a spiritual covering.

What garment are you wearing? There are good garments. There are bad garments. There are physical garments. There are spiritual garments.

Some garments kill one's glory. Some garments attract favour. Other kinds of garments promote and cooperate with God’s doctrine. If you make an encounter with the wrong garment, you will find it difficult to have a good relationship with God. Until you identify the evil garment and burn them to ashes, there can never be a new garment of blessing.

To some women, God has warned you not to wear some clothes but you ignored the word. God has revealed to you through confirmation that this garment (clothes) can destroy your home and bring you shame. You cannot get God’s blessings with a bad garment no matter the prayers and fasting. Bad garments are garments that are not too decent in the sight of God.

To some men, there has been a constant divine call to drop those clothes! You ignored His call and stuck to your lifestyle, you are helping yourself to destroy your glory. Any garment that is immoral, any garment that is not decent to the eyes, any garment that exposes other areas of your body, is an evil garment from the pit of hell.

CONCLUSION

Check the Bible those who put on new garments encountered Jesus. If you want God to help you then help yourself by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

PRAYER POINTS.

1. Father, I thank you sir for everything you have done for me and done through me please take all the glory.

2. Father, throughout 2024, I reject the garment of weeping, and I will never weep .

3. Father, throughout 2024, I reject the garment of reproach.

4. Father, throughout 2024, I reject the garment of sorrow.

5. Father, throughout 2024, I reject every evil garment.

6. Father, throughout 2024, I will put on the garment of victory, favor, good health, success, and happiness.

7. Every power, personality, and spirit that has prepared evil garments for me (name them one by one such as prison garment, beggarly garment, garment of blindness and infirmity) wear your evil garment. Die, and remain dead, in the name of Jesus.

8. Every wrong garment that I am wearing, O God let your angels change it to the right and proper garment, in the name of Jesus.

9. Every evil garment that I am wearing that is magnetizing problems to my life, catch fire and be roasted to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

10. Every affliction in my life that came as a result of evil garment, die, in the name of Jesus. O Lord show me the evil garment that is responsible for parts of my problems, in the name of Jesus.

11. Every garment of poverty that is killing good things in my life, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

12. Every power driving away my God-ordained helpers you have failed, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.

13. Every garment attracting debt to me, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

14. Every garment of infirmity prepared for me to cut my life short, I tear you off now and set you on fire, burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

15. Every sickness programmed into my life to cut my life short or keep me in the hospital for the rest of my life, or to waste my money, die now, in the name of Jesus.

16. Every garment of untimely death and the graveyard put upon me to kill me before my time, I rip you off and I set you on fire. catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

17. Any power that wants me to die, die in my place after the order of Haman, in the name of Jesus.

18. Arrows of untimely death fired into my life, jump out and backfire, in the name of Jesus.

19. Every owner of evil load in my life, carry your evil load by fire, in the name of Jesus.

20. Whoever that needs to die for me to become what God ordained me to be, die now, die by thunder, in the name of Jesus.

21. Any power using my virtues to prosper and leaving me poor. Enough is enough. You that power return my virtues to me and then somersault and die! In the name of Jesus.

22. Every power pulling me down, be roasted to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

23. Evil hands pushing down my head every time that I try to lift it up, wither and die, in the name of Jesus.

24. Powers working against my promotion run mad and die, in the name of Jesus.

25. Every power, spirit or personality preparing evil garments for me, fall down and die.

26. Every power, spirit or personality preparing evil garments for me, fall down and die.

27. Evil hands preparing evil garments for me, wither and burn to ashes.

28. Every strange garment fashioned for me, catch fire and roast to ashes.

29. Every evil garment prepared for me by my enemies refuse to size me.

30. Every owner of evil load, appear and carry your load in the name of Jesus.

31. Every power assigned to take away my garment of many colors, you are a liar, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.

32. Every power, personality, and spirit that has prepared evil garments for me (name them one by one such as prison garment, beggarly garment, garment of blindness and infirmity) wear your evil garment. Die, and remain dead, in the name of Jesus.

33. Every affliction in my life that came as a result of evil garment, die.

34. Every garment of poverty that is killing good things in my life, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

35. Every power driving away my God ordained helpers you have failed, fall down and die.

36. Every garment attracting debt to me, catch fire and burn to ashes.

37. Every garment of poverty that is killing good things in my life, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.
