INTRODUCTION:
The spirit of the wasters is a demonic force that specialises in destroying what is good, productive, and fruitful. It causes individuals to lose time, energy, money, and opportunities—often just before they reap the benefits of their labour. Under the influence of this spirit, a person can work diligently, plan excellently, and even pray fervently, but the outcome remains disappointment, failure, and emptiness.
This spirit works like a thief in the night—it wastes without mercy and devours without rest. It shows up through sudden losses, constant repairs, damaged relationships, broken projects, and unexplainable setbacks. Instead of seeing results, those afflicted by this spirit encounter frustration and fruitless cycles. It does not only waste things—it wastes people too, by draining their strength and leaving them burnt out and discouraged.
God did not design you to labour in vain or be a victim of demonic sabotage. His will is for you to enjoy the fruit of your labour, walk in wisdom, preserve your blessings, and flourish in every area of life. Deliverance from this spirit is essential for restoration and for walking in dominion and divine abundance.
1. UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRIT OF THE WASTERS
a) It Is a Demonic Assignment to Destroy What Has Been Built: This spirit is responsible for breaking down what has taken time, money, and effort to build. It frustrates progress and ensures that individuals return to square one repeatedly, regardless of their talents or discipline (Isaiah 54:16).
b) It Brings Sudden Losses, Frustrated Efforts, and Broken Expectations: You may start well, invest deeply, and even get close to results, only to experience disappointment, rejection, or collapse at the last moment (Haggai 1:6).
c) It Can Work Through Carelessness, Sin, or Spiritual Attacks: Sometimes, the enemy finds legal ground to waste through our negligence, disobedience, or open spiritual doors that attract devourers (Malachi 3:11).
d) It Wastes People’s Strength, Time, Talent, and Treasure: This spirit causes people to pour their best years into fruitless labour, so that at the end of the journey, they have little or nothing to show (John 10:10).
Biblical Example: The prodigal son wasted his inheritance through reckless living. Although he started with plenty, he ended in poverty and hunger until he encountered mercy (Luke 15:13–14).
2. SIGNS OF WASTING SPIRITS AT WORK
a) Constant Financial Leakages and Unexpected Expenses: Money seems to disappear as soon as it enters your hands—through sickness, repairs, debts, or emergencies that come from nowhere (Ecclesiastes 10:19).
b) Good Relationships Turn Sour Without Explanation: People sent to help you suddenly turn away, or those who once supported you become silent or hostile without cause (Proverbs 18:24).
c) Investing Time and Energy Into Projects That Fail Repeatedly: No matter how promising a venture appears, it collapses mid-way, bringing discouragement and a sense of failure (Habakkuk 2:13).
d) Experiencing Backwardness or Stagnation Despite Much Effort: Instead of moving forward, life becomes a cycle of rising and falling, progress and collapse, toil and tears (Joel 1:4).
Biblical Example: Israel laboured to plant their fields, but every harvest season, the Midianites came and wasted all their efforts, leaving them in frustration and poverty (Judges 6:3–6).
3. CHANNELS THROUGH WHICH WASTERS OPERATE
a) Disobedience and Neglect of God’s Priorities: When people fail to honour God with their resources and time, they open the door to frustration and emptiness (Deuteronomy 28:15–17).
b) Evil Dreams or Spiritual Attacks That Steal Harvests: Demonic agents can steal people’s blessings in the dream realm, causing physical losses in the natural realm (Matthew 13:25).
c) Wicked Enemies Assigned to Scatter Your Efforts: Some battles come from human enemies who are envious or demonically sent to ruin what you have built (Judges 6:3–6).
d) Lack of Wisdom in Managing Resources and Relationships: Poor financial habits, wrong partnerships, or careless decisions open the door for wastage (Proverbs 21:20).
Biblical Example: The Israelites suffered loss repeatedly until they recognised the presence of the Midianite destroyers and cried out to God (Judges 6:3–6).
4. HOW TO BE DELIVERED FROM THE SPIRIT OF THE WASTERS
a) Repent and Reconnect to God’s Will and Priorities: True restoration begins when you align with God’s instructions and honour Him with your first and best (Malachi 3:10–11).
b) Raise a New Altar of Preservation and Restoration Through Prayer and Sacrifice: Use the blood of Jesus to break every legal ground the enemy has used to waste your efforts (Joel 2:25).
c) Bind the Spirit of the Waster and Release the Spirit of Multiplication: In the name of Jesus, take authority and cast out the forces that destroy your increase (Matthew 18:18).
d) Seek the Wisdom of God to Manage Your Time, Resources, and Relationships Well: Ask God for insight and self-control to avoid unwise decisions and relationships (Ecclesiastes 10:10).
Biblical Example: After passing through intense trial and waste, Job experienced divine restoration, and God gave him twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10).
5. WALKING IN DIVINE PRESERVATION AND MULTIPLICATION
a) Trust God as the Source and Manager of Your Resources: Recognise that only God gives the power to get wealth and preserve it (Deuteronomy 8:18).
b) Be a Good Steward Over What God Has Entrusted to You: Avoid carelessness, laziness, and mismanagement—use what you have wisely (Luke 16:10).
c) Avoid Wasteful Living, Ungodly Associations, and Impulsive Decisions: Guard your heart, your time, and your relationships (Romans 8:14).
d) Cover Your Labour With Prayer and Prophetic Decrees: Speak life daily over your efforts, and protect your progress spiritually (Psalm 91:10–11).
Biblical Example: By divine wisdom, Joseph preserved Egypt’s resources during a famine, showing that good stewardship brings multiplication (Genesis 41:33–36).
